  1. Hi - You and your dog need a bit more than a 'trainer'. It needs careful assessment and work by someone who can really understand the behaviour. I suggest THIS PERSON ..who also provides an online course - where you learn more about why your dog is doing this, and how to help . CLICK HERE Excerpt : Some of What You’ll Learn: Reasons why your dog has become reactive/aggressive and what you can do about it. How to determine the difference between reactive and aggressive dogs. Methods to handle reactive/aggressive dogs. How to read your dog’s mood. Reasons your dog is reacting to particular types of dogs. How to use a head halter. What types of leads to use. How to have maximum control over your dog with your lead. What impact it has on your dog’s behaviour if they sense you are nervous. How you being in control helps reduce your dog’s stress. How to make your dog settle down in public. How to move your body to influence your dog in a positive way. I also suggest you drop into THIS THREAD .. all about dogs like yours !
  2. yes..well, aside from the fact she doesn't get out of her pen anymore I'm not fit enough to control her , and we have several white cedar trees which have been dropping berries everywhere for years ..it would end disastrously . poor girl - this wasn't how it was supposed to be ....
  3. Hmmm ... my radar went 'ping' ;) Facebook page link doesn't work , website link doesn't work ...and twitter account last entry was 2011!!!

  5. check HERE. Your friends may also not be aware that most dogs that don't shed will need proper grooming/clipping very regularly . They are more work than shedding dogs ;) Some more info just so they make a good choice> HERE and HERE With regard to getting two pups ..this can be a bit tricky . Some explanation is HERE for them I wish them good luck
  6. there are lots off yummy things for pups to chew Antlers, Hooves..and soft/non splintering bones like raw roo tails
  7. Our working (sheep) dogs cut themselves a lot! If it's not bleeding , and the dog isn't paying it much attention , provided all else is equal .. I just bathe it a couple of times a day with some Silver Colloid liquid (health food shop) .. and distract dog with food/cuddles after bathing for 10 or so minutes to let it work
  8. One egg would be enough for a little pup , I think.Add to some meat or kibble for a filling meal , maybe ?
  9. of course you need to use some things ..maybe just not as often ? Why use intestinal wormers or flea insecticide every month if they are not a big problem ? That's all - just use the absolute minimum needed...
  10. @PANDI-GIRLMaybe send Loba a private message and ask her ? there is also this info on the problems they've been working hard on .. CLICK HERE
  11. Why don't you want to do what the vet recommended?
  12. @denali LOVE that street art .
  13. Oh .....be still my heart ........... *remembers Kieran* photos are ESSENTIAL . I second/third chicken frames ..and maybe turkey necks whole? Bloat is a sneaky mongrel of a thing - I did all the right things by Kieran for 7 years . One night he grabbed 6 meatybites off the ground - and that was that .
  14. Do you ever see a flea? My P O V is to not fill a dog up with chemicals if not needed. Our dogs get swabbed with permoxin if there are fleas .( we only have the 'stickfast/rabbit' fleas, which tend to congregate on patches of bare skin ., and for a month or two in Summer , (susceptible dogs only) get Advantage spot on . make sure, if you KNOW there are fleas about , to keep bedding etc changed and cleaned .. Vacuum regularly IF you see signs of fleas , perhaps use a quick-kill , one off treatment like CAPSTAR ? puppies are small, and babies - stop & think of the work bodies have to do to metabolise/excrete all the vermicide/insecticide /vaccines. Add food colourings/preservatives , and stuff like household cleaner/deodorisers/insect spray ..!!!
