  1. You're right tho ..Winter would have been very difficult for everyone . he was blessed
  2. an arm and a leg. It may seem disabling, BUT. FROM AN ETHICAL BREEDER, pup's family would have been tested for genetic faults , been vaccd, been handled a lot, come with info on feeding and care, and be supported by the breeder . All this stuff costs breeders half a leg and an arm. A rescue is another idea ? That way desexing and vacc are done
  3. Welcome . he looks lovely I will also suggest you start with the breeder . Skin irritations - such a frustrating set of symptoms ... a LOT of detective work needs to be done to find out the WHY . Different causes can be food/plants/ immune system problems /parasites ... The ligament etc problems - what exactly are they ? We can't help if we don't know the problem/s
  4. I hope you have contacted the pup's breeder and let them know of these problems. the best answers to your questions about insurance would be found by contacting them Just look online, or phone ..don't give them details ..just ask a general question ..and then you'll have the info. What results did the pup's mother & father have in their hip/elbow tests ?
  5. With a mixed breed pup ... you cannot compare it to any of the purebred breeds used in its making . Once someone mixes up all that genetic material - anything can happen !
  6. Don't panic found this old thread for you ..some info in there which may be helpful
  7. ..and that is one of the reasons why buying a purebred dog , from a recommended , ethical breeder can be a better choice. you KNOW what you are getting , have access to history , and support of the breeder. Not all breeders are ethical/responsible , which is why personal recommendations are so useful . What main reason do you have for not wanting a purebred little Chi, or Pom? have you considered something like this ? http://chihuahuarescueaustralia.com/ This gorgeous boy is seeking a home
  8. Look at that smile .... and with all vet work done . Oh .. the date is November last year ... would it still be current ?
  9. @Amber Griffin so the other one fell through ?
  10. 'face of a feral' I'm glad, instead of a rifle that I only had a camera with me at this meeting .... I think cats are amazingly beautiful .We gazed at each other for a long minute before the cat decided to stroll away.
  11. YUM ! no fair putting warm bikkie pics up :P
  12. Hi ..sorry to hear about the diagnosis . I am a long termer here on DOL , and from memory there have been several posts about people catching Toxo, and not dogs ! I don't know if someone will share experiences .. and hope your boy recovers well

  17. Hmmm- a 4 mth old pup pulling like a freight train . YES, YES, Yes!! the longer a dog has a habit, the harder it is to teach something else ;) Buying harnesses because of pulling .. IMO helping pup to walk calmly would be a better investment . Some good resources for you to enjoy and ... Like this
  18. It sounds as if you have not yet had any sessions with a one-on-one trainer ? There are things I would do to baby pups, but definitely not to a 7 mth old one . You and pup NEED a personal trainer . One thing I can suggest ( OFF LABEL use .. use at own risk ) is to apply vicks vapor rub to yr hands /fingers ....but really, to do this properly . to LEARN why the pup is doing this ..you do need to book a trainer's time
  19. CATCH has dog pushers/strollers/bike trailers https://www.catch.com.au/search?query=dog&sort=0&selected_first=1&department[]=PETS+>+DOG Also weatherbeeta coats , dog crates/beds grooming tools , and toys .
  20. huh??? How so ? Photos of gundogs working are wonderful to see ! message me some , if you don't feel you can post
  21. Hi I do not use harnesses .. but it seems the fitting of this one may be wrong? Does the pup pull a lot? is that why you use a harness?
