  4. Hi You girl is possibly just sticking close as she feels a bit off . The cone can be very off putting as well . It is a very restrictive thing .. Is she eating OK ? Did she get pain relief ? All dogs are different - some are more stoic- some are more sensitive ... have you tried the commands without cone ? Just try & keep things normal .. her routine has changed ....you left her at a place where she obviously had some odd things done ... and she will certainly feel the stitches - maybe pulling a bit , so she does have reasons to be clingy, I think. yes- I've known bitches be speyed - and once the anaesthetic wears off , they are raring to go .... and I've known them to want to be waited on hand & foot!
  5. Use words you are happy to use anywhere, and words which just have one meaning I use Gimme Yuck Lie Down. Gimme I teach by replacing their treasure with a treat - a special treat!
  6. That's frustrating, isn't it ? What have been the results of his faecal tests and blood tests over the years? What vet treatment has he had ? have you contacted his breeder to see if any others have this problem? has he always lived in the same house/yard? There are so many reasons why this may happen - a lot of 'detective' work needs doing

  8. @Scottsmum wow. is that near you ? PS : is it very wrong to imagine Wal & The Dog sliding down the hills in the mud whenever I see images like this ? ;) @Canisbellum I so love that photo .... <3
  9. Oops ... I know that feeling!! Sowwy LOL.
  10. You don't ?? MEATY bones are the trick large raw meaty bones like roo tails/briskets/sheep/pig head halves /spines... A dog benefits most when pulling(front teeth- incisors/canines) and gnawing (side teeth- carnassials/molars ) the action of muscle plus connective tissue rubbing between/around teeth is cleaning , and gum massaging Watch a dog or other canine eating from a large carcass ... it takes great strength to pull meat/sinew, off bones ..add some missed chances, and you get a great flossing! That glorious relaxing lying down and gnawing of the cartilage etc clinging on to a bone surface cleans the side & back teeth - gums also get massaged and pummelled , keeping them toned & tight.
  11. use a soft brush instead of patting her ..a nice slow rythym gently down her head/neck while she is on yr lap/alongside you ... then down her back once she's realxed and used to this ..may take several sessions . Also - when she's relaxed , use the quick feet touches ..as a game , with rewards . AS SOON as she gives in /stops jerking away ..let her go . I LOVE playing with my dogs/feet
