Of course it needs addressing!! the dog needs an examination by a vet ...it needs to be checked by a behaviourist as well. TRYING to 'help' may cause more damage . if you are simply trying to establish dominance .. and the dog is suffering with a medical problem .. it will be painful for everyone Unless YOU are a qualified trainer/behaviourist ... pls recommend a professional . You are asking for trouble . there are many out there , cheap services, fancy names, flashy websites ... leave'em alone. Pay the extra to see someone vouched for . THIS person is one I've heard of ... if the owners cannot , or will not pay for even one consultation ... then , yes PTS is the best option, before things get messed around with. ... You are kind to offer help - but dominance is NOT always the way to go .

YES!!! there was a very good reason why the swaggies/alcoholics/ knobby-knee'd kids /widows, of years gone by usually had dogs .Those dogs were a part of life ..they provided different things to their owners, depending . Back when The Boss & I were quite young, we had a yellow lab . She used to always 'tell on us' , if we went somewhere/did something wrong/not safe - she'd race off & tell Mum ......... *sigh*

aaarrrrgh ...... Dogs hear/smell snakes ..and I believe the 'odd' method snakes move also draws a dog's attention .. ours usually bark/growl with a very different note of aggro/alert than usual for a strange human, or feral cat ....

If they are both female there may be more involved ...
