  1. The woman behind the product!! FB profile link and : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4001792/How-one-young-woman-s-pet-dog-saved-depression-created-successful-business-selling-shampoo-pets-owners.html
  2. canned and raw don't seem to go together AT ALL . Raw is raw is uncooked... AFAIK not sure in which country this food is produced .. but on my skim read ..there are enough spelling/grammatical errors to make me wonder. to CAN/preserve food ..it is pressure COOKED in-can. how can it be raw ? maybe they mean "natural" ?"raw" as in without something? if anyone solves the mystery , I'd be happy to learn something new this has me intrigued .
  3. No idea what week I'm in.. the team after a morning's goat mustering, yesterday . L>R Indi, Bo, Wags (back) Merle, Dulcie Nicknames .. Goanna, Princess, Mr.Wiggles, or Old man , Fugly , Dottie
  4. Here's hoping You are now learning strategic management fast , sadly ... but it will be for teh best .
  5. Yes!! I too remember the days of Ralph & Rocco ....
  6. Gorgeous george !! he is lovely. 4 years ... oh wow .. it doesn't seem that long . You and Didi have both matured , become a lot more laid back , and are now starting something new ...that is such a good thing Well Done to you ..it's been a journey from that big pawed , uncertain start Thank you so much for teh update !
  7. Welcome Most of it's been said . What fencing do you have ? is it all very high, and totally dog proof ? if not , there will need to be a separate dog run . A safe , ultra secure spot where your dog can be relaxed, and both protected and prevented from doing harm. You are sharing a house? if so .. do the other people concur with your choice? are THEIR friends/family comfortable with a large GSD being present ? Yes, it is important ;) My suggestion ? do your homework ..which you very wisely began here :D Study up on dog temperament /drive/breeds. Start reading /learning about the different training regimes, and how to best choose a dog to suit your circumstances ... I adore LH GSD's , One has never been on my 'to buy' lists , as I do not think I am the right person to own such a dog .Could not do them justice ... I will admire them from afar PLEASE be guided by the info you get from folks on these pages - there are so many years of experience here, so many levels of dog breeding/ownership and training , and it all comes from a place of wanting the best and safest outcome for dogs and owners .
  8. it IS . Mind you, there are many who should never ever be allowed to walk out the gates - but so many people who will do better with trust, and responsibility, and an interest
  9. Tibbies are lovely A rellie had one for years, and he coped with anything!
  10. I believe so . For what it's worth , I also think, as you love having her with you to SOOTHE you ... (cos it works <3) This could well be affecting her ... I am all for dog cuddles perhaps though , have your cuddles at times when there IS nothing else happening to add extra anxiety ? That way .. it's a time TOTALLY for you and dogs to enjoy each other - to breathe- to be free of "what if's" ..even for 10 minutes , while your daughter is napping , when your Partner is looking after her in another area ... or even, could you use your bedroom for your Calming and Comforting Canine Cuddle ? maybe this will mean Claudia can relax as well ... ..just my 2c worth I do hope you can get some relief soon ....
  11. Ok ... just when your daughter is in there - I think it is a way to reduce stress for your human family
  12. I agree with S&M's post . Claudia is a dog . Your daughter deserves to toddle about/climb on yr lap/the couch without anyone worrying about the dog's reaction From that post , it seems Claudia is resource guarding the most precious resource - HUMANS . Excluding her at times is good management - you're the decision makers, not HER ;)
  13. I was sniffly all thru .. wanted to adopt a couple of the prisoners, & keep them safe ! Wishing everyone involved a life without cruelty and powerlessness... For those who haven't seen it : http://iview.abc.net.au/programs/prisoners-and-pups/DO1521S001S00#
  14. Don't normally share any of PiTA's stuff ... this one, however ...
  15. Oh , that is so sad I can't think of much .. except maybe a return of illness - perhaps a tumour somewhere now ? if many aspects of life are untenable to her , and have you walking on eggshells .. that is not what living with dogs is all about, and , thos heartbreaking , I believe euthanasia has its place here. yes, it is what I would do /have done .
  16. I think it did do good .. they tended to be a lot more wary around lizards ..... snakes do have a scent ... I suppose dogs can smell "snake" on a body , too ...
  17. Hmm..in the past , I have used a bucket of water , a dead snake .... and the surprise factor . It ended with dogs doing a wide detour , wherever snake was placed ....
  18. Grandma ( deceased) CAILLIE and Grandson Puddy ...
