Brenda Aloff Seminar 20 - 22 Feb 09
Mr R & NR replied to Erny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Erny, I agree, trying to chat in the breaks was not that easy, the days went so fast. Queuing on the 'potty breaks' took up time too! Kelpie I, great summary of the methods. I recognised so much of it from horse training too, A couple of people mentioned a report, that would be so hard to do but she did mention a DVD of the seminar in time, whether that is available to no attendees I don't know. -
Brenda Aloff Seminar 20 - 22 Feb 09
Mr R & NR replied to Erny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I was there, what a great 3 days. How Brenda kept up that enthusiasm and sense of humour for that length of time was amazing. She must have been so tired today. Loved the demos and a huge thanks to the people who put them selves up there, must have been very nerve wracking. I could have sat there for another day quite easily. Ditto the catering and organisation great job Trish and Dale. People are always friendly at Kepala I have found. -
Oh Griff, I am very sorry. I sure she is having fun chasing those darn big balloons that offened her. I enjoyed hearing about the Old Biddy and the obvious love you had for eachother
-
Anne, so sorry to hear your news. Farewell lovely Sophie. I hope the quality time you two have spent together in the last months help you through the pain and remembering the good times including how wonderful she was with you and the vets as you tried to help her.

Erny Has Puppy Breath In The Home!
Mr R & NR replied to Erny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Erny, I really like Bomani (Bo for short which meant strong soldier/Warrior), sorry forgot who wrote that one. I think that would suit him. Sticking my oar in but you do need some help on this I think. And you have the Man, little man in there too. Nearly a week since you got him, how has life changed?!!!! Not much, Erny takes it in her stride. "who is in charge here" I ask  -
Good news CNV. I bet you hold your breath every time you go. Thanks for keeping us updated.
-
Positive, Positive thoughts for you and your girl Sophie CNV. I loved the post about the talk you and Sophie had when she arrived. Lots of owners should do that. It inspired me to do it with my two. Nellie wagged and Mr Royce slept.............
-
The Land Shark comment made me laugh. I wonder if Nellie is related to Ash and Sophie? I often call her Jaws, but as you say, so worth it, so special. Keep your spirits up CNR.
-
Awwwwh! Well done you two, he is such a lovely boy and so much more confident now thanks to all your work.
-
Hi CNR & Sophie, I don't post much but check on your progress regularly, you are both in my thoughts. Nothing like cuddles on the bed to make everyone feel better I say.

" Take The Guess-work Out Tour " Victoria
Mr R & NR replied to Erny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
It was a great weekend, don't know how to describe how tired I was, particularly Saturday after the late night Friday. So incredibly cold on Saturday like everone else, kept putting my fingers under Nellie's coat to warm up. Love the pictures Erny, Nellie trying to hold her head up. She hassled for dinner when we got home and was then spark out for the rest of the night. Todd, what special fella he was putting up with all the boofers. A couldn't believe it was the same dog when he thought lure coursing was on! How do you harness lure coursing drive? Erny, any ideas! :D 2 people said to me that their opinions of Rottweilers had changed since seeing them at the workshop, very proud of that. We all know they are angels anyway -
Glad Nova is recovering well Haven. Another Rotti that is going to be double spoilt. How can you not, they are so special (no prejudice here ) I understand what you say about sending the sample for tests, I wouldn't either as I know I wouldn't go down the chemotherapy road. An to clarify I have no issue with those that do, that is their choice.
-
Haven, I hope all goes well for Nova, you are both in my thoughts CNR, loved reading about Sophie mad dog moments, so pleased you two are having a good time together. I always look out for a rolling Rottie when we are out for walks but I think you go early not in the evening.

BP, very sorry to hear she lost her battle. You did your best for her for her remaining days. My thoughts are with you.

Rottweiler Health Issues And Nutrition
Mr R & NR replied to kiahzen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Allerzeit, keep the idea going, you never know, in the meantime at least we can support those who need it. How about a list of alternative treatment vets in other states, ones that people have had dealings with and can recommend? -
Thanks for the reply CnR. You are very dedicated, must be so hard for you, but I guess your reply would be you are doing it for her.

Rottweiler Health Issues And Nutrition
Mr R & NR replied to kiahzen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hey BP, good idea. Cancer starving diet. Not tried it, too late for my Ruby girl but it is something I keep in the back of my mind. http://www.b-naturals.com/Jun2004.php?PHPS...a44a99f56db4a15 And ZnQ, regarding the immune system. I do not pretend to know anything about this subject except I am sure it is hearbreaking. http://www.b-naturals.com/Fal1998.php -
CNR do you have and end date for the chemo treatment, is it on a week off a week or 6 weeks of treatment etc. Just wondering? Also when do you go back to the oncologist?
-
Wylie, I thought they would ingest at least some fur, skin and feathers and that acts as roughage as does vegetables and small amounts of fruit. Dogs also eat fruit so why does the prey model not allow fruit in small amounts?
-
You need to add some lamb or beef heart or chicken hearts which are not so easy to get. Taurine is an enzyme in heart that the need. Homebrand tinned Mackrel in oil is a great food too Did you have full fat plain yoghurt on your list? Be a little careful with the liver, use small amounts until they get used to it, it is very rich. Can I ask why you call this prey model and not just ordinary BARF? I thought prey model was where you fed them the fur and feathers as well?

Barfers - What Mince Do You Feed?
Mr R & NR replied to Sayreovi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Personally I would kick these "cereals, seafood, cheese" I would also want to know what the herbs were. To me BARF is about knowing exactly what your dog is being fed.. Just my opinion. Cereals and grains can cause skin problems too and again, my opion, don't have a place in a raw natural diet.
