Yes if they have done all the relevant health tests, not bred specifically for a colour and not charged more for that colour. Blue can haapen win a well planned, well bred litter.

Live animals are put in a heated, pressurized section of the cargo hold so they have enough oxygen at the high altitudes and don't freeze. Normal baggage and freight goes in the unheated unpressurized sections. ETA I really can't find the words to describe the stupidity or callousness of this person

If it is the same one did you look at the puppy price list on the website?
-
Using the "rare" word pings my radar too. And the fact that the "chocolate" pups are twice the price of other coloured pups.
-
Chocolate (or more correctly liver in cockers) is an acceptable colour in the cocker standard. Liver and chocolate are the same ccolour genetically, bb, but called different things in different breeds i.e. liver in dalmatians and cockers, chocolate in labradors and border collies. I don't know how common liver is but I would steer clear of any breeder who misnames a colour.

It took 3 attempts and months for DogsNSW to get my dogs registration certificate right despite the fact that the import pedigree was correct and they even lost it once. I have just applied some titles and got his rego certificate back and they have the titles wrong. If my dog had only been here staying here for a few months he would have been back in NZ before everyting was sorted out.

What's Wrong About Giving Dogs Human Names?
Janba replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Mine have always had a mixture of human and non human names - it just depends on what suits the dog. -
misread Can't you show an import for up to 3 months before it has to be re registered? Maybe someone bought a dog in for a short time and then took it back.

Grabbing the washing and having a good game of tug with it is self rewarding and as such will be a very hard habit to break. I would fene the clothes line off so they can't get to it or only hang out washing when you can supervise.
-
I know what that is like. At least Cole is past that excitement now and just comes out and works nicely no matter how long it is since he's seen sheep but it took a long time getting there.

What Would An Entire Male Be Like Around A Bitch On Heat?
Janba replied to jacqui835's topic in General Dog Discussion
When I have run a dog wiith other entire males round a bitch just coming into season I have known all the other dogs, as has my dog, and what they are like as well as the dogs knowing the bitch. I wouldn't try it with an unknown male. Or at an ANKC herding trial - I don't know about schutzhund trials or other non ANKC events. -

Sounds like she was not ready to mate but trying out potential mates. There is a definite dance before they are ready to mate and you may have just seen that. -
You can get some very low drive working BCs just as you get very hyperactive show bred BCs. A working BC does need a good off switch and most well bred working dogs will have one, but like all BCs do need mental stimulation. I have found the most of the show bred BCs have less of an off switch than most of the workig bred BCs I know. The short coated BCs should still have a double coat like a long coated BC and shed the coats much the same way just the hairs are shorter, You can also get BCs that don't have the thick fluffy coat like a show BC but it is still considered a rough coat like my dog. He does shed twice a year but much less hsir then my show bred dog and the only plsce he ever gets knots is behind his ears which I just cut off. He is also rarely brushed as he doesn't need to be - most farm3e3r don't have the time to be continually brushing their working dogs.

I have a friend who has a bitch of a different breed to my male and, they love each other whether she is in season or not. She won't have a bar of the resident male of the same breed or the dog she was sent to but will flag at my boy from almost the moment she comes in. He's not allowed near her now when she is due in. -

I have an entire male who has been used so knows what it is all about. He flirts with all girls and a little more so with bitches who aren't ready to who aren't ready to stand and does recall back very quickly BUT I know I can call him off a bitch who is ready to mate because I have done it when the bitch owner didn't even realise the bitch was in season (coated breed) till my dog started to mount her. He has an almost perfect recall and he came straight to me when I called. He did moon after her for the rest of the trial Most male dogs do know when a bitch is ready to mate and we have run several males offlead with bitches who aren't standing (just coming in) and there has been no aggression and the younger males have defered to the older more dominant male. ETA My next door neighbour has had his daughters dog there who is in season. I had to take my boy to work on Thur as he was threatening to go over the fence when they had her in the backyard. Today he couldn't care less so she is obvioiusly past the time of mating. -
I feed 3 approx 20kg dog for about $20 a week total. I feed a kibble that is locally made with either meat dinners which I get from my pet food man which are basically barf and $5kg, chicken wings and frames and sometimes eggs. My petfood man carries human grade chicken for much less than the market charges. I also sometimes cook extra vegies or rice so they will get a bit of that too and the occasional can of no frill sardines. It can work out a lot cheaper feeding well than feeding a lot of preprepared dog foods. The main reason I feed the kibble is so that when I take them away it is easier to feed them.

I know I should have but I live in a realtively small community. I would have hoped that any fireworks displays might have been at the larger centres - 15 minutes drive away. These sound like they are coming from down the road near the school and it is late for a primary school to have fireworks.
-
:) I was sitting here quielty weatching some downloaded TV when some one started letting of fireworks and I ended up wearing 2 BCs. They are not bad but don't like them. I know it is Australia Day but are fireworks really neccessary?

Denise at one stage was rying to get ISDS type trials up and running wasn't she?

Why are you vaccinating against rabies in NSW? ETA I misread the first post and missed the breeder - so pup is for export.

At my last house I had a GSD next door who did bark a lot but not at nothing - at me hanging out the washing, walking into any of the rooms of my house next to his, going into the back yard and he did the same for the neighbours on the other side and behind. He wa an outside dog and did bark at night but his owners slept through it because their bedroom was at the front of the house and they didn't hear him. Talk to your neighbours about when he is barking and if he is an outside dog bring him in at night.

I think it is different state to state. In DogsNSW code of ethivs states I know that some other states don't have the exemption for working dogs. ETA I don't imagine the intent of the exemption for working dogs meant working breeds kept as suburban pets.

Plenty of registered reputable breeders, including a lot of DOLers, do advertise in the trading post and do breed without having homes lined up for all of the pups (or why do we need the Dogzonline puppy listings). I don't know about Gumtree as I never go there. One of my dogs came from the trading post from a very old well known kennel, I was looking for a pup and hadn't been able to find one I like or a litter in the planning I liked so I rang this add and was pleasantly suprised.

Training starts back the first weekend in Marh with the herding association training day on the 5th (you neeed to join which is about $25 but training is free) and the ASDC on the 6th which you also need to join ($28 + $5 joining fee and $3 to train). The following Sat, 12th, is sporting committee training and you need to be a member of DogsNSW and training is $5. If you're already a DogsNSW member come on the 12th and you can see if Tilba likes it as that would be the cheapest option. I'll be there, the fat person who wobbles when she walks because of my MS, and Cole is easy to recognise, though his sister Jinnie looks very like him. ETA the herding association training is the first Sat of each month and no training fees.

I tend to agree with JulesP on this one. Reading the flyer you are promoting her agility expertise not her herding expertise. You list her 3 sheep last after the agility and agility is irrelevent to herding. I wouldn't go to a clinic were the the emphasis is put on the main instructors agility career not her herding one if I didn't know the instructor.
