DAS doesn't do the desexing themselves, they release dogs with a voucher for it to be done so it relies on the person actually getting it done themselves. Great idea about contacting his breeder! Ok they used to desex . But I note the condition of release ... All dogs released from the DAS Shelter must comply with de-sexing requirement in accordance with the Domestic Animals Act 2000, within 28 days of their release. So therefore that dog must be desexed...

How did he get released from the pound without being neutered ??? In the ACT it is legislated that all dogs must be neutered/speyed unless the owner takes out a breeding permit ? I hope you find him a lovely home

Eyebright - Herb Or Complex
FlissPrideaux replied to Mojopoodle's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As Minimax has been saying, I too am an HUGE fan of euphrasia- or eyebright. In fact I use it along side traditional medical creams, however I believe that it was responsible for saving the eye of my pug boy.. As Minimax Said, for minor injury one tablet a day - unlike his brother, mine refuses to eat a table or eat food with it in, so it is the "manual" method! I also am a huge fan of Healing Herbs Eye Wash - and they also do Euphrasia drops, which my boy is now on every day.. http://www.herbal-treatments.com.au/ Of course always talk to your vet - some aren't fans of natural medicine though -
the bracelet has been found - in the most amazing place - tucked into the pocket where the hood goes on my rain jacket. It wasnt visible, and in fact you couldnt really feel it, it was only when I was rolling the hood up and tucking it in that I felt it.. the jacket has been searched about 12 - 15 times by mulitple people and we all missed it! in fact I searched it again tonight and it was an hour later when I actually found it! Many thanks to everyone for their wishes Alyosha - yes I reported to to NSW Police, Qld, SA and Vic - they dont share lost property info :)

Yes Missymoo I have been everywhere - the bangle stayed on my wrist - it was a true bangle ie had to push it on over my hand and it wasnt easy - I never took it off. I think it came off actually in my ezy shade as i was pulling a rain jacket off and perhaps flew onto the path and someone picked it up. I stayed till the end of the show, I had about 6 people searching eveyrwhere, I have been through everything. Im really quite devastated as it was my memories bracelet.. I am pushing it on FB too - so if anyone hears anything I would be so grateful. I am offering a substantial reward for its return...

Yes have contacted Dogs ACT, Royal Ag Society - who referred me to the Police as they hand all lost property to them, have lodged with the police and am about to lodge with all police services tomorrow... Im really hoping that somehow it turns up... So silly being so upset over a bit of metal but it has lots of memories rolled into one thing...

Everyone - I realise that this area is for show results, however I am hoping that by spreading the work far and wide, that there is a chance that I might get my bangle back Lost on Sunday 24 February at the Royal Canberra Show dog area . My cherished Memories bangle .. If anyone found it I am offering a substantial reward as it is of enormous sentimental value to me as it is made from jewellery melted down and diamonds from my Grandmother .. I am desperately seeking this bangle. I would appreciate any help . I have also posted in lost and found, but if anyone has any information there is a reward - Im really desperate to get this bangle back Many thanks Fliss

I'm investigating the use of a camera in the trailer to monitor the dogs when travelling . I know some people have them and I was wondering how successful they found them . I'm hoping to use a wireless surveillance type camera set up I would then be able to take the monitor into the room when we are away (the model I am looking at has night vision) Thanks. Fliss

Needing Advice On Fx / Fx Style Dog Float
FlissPrideaux replied to sandii's topic in General Dog Discussion
well unless you really want an FX style for a particular reason, I would really consider looking at Cruising Canines www.crusisingcanines.com.au Outstanding quality, service, and follow up. John builds each trailer to fit your requirements. I couldn't be happier with mine - it took me 8 years to find a trailer I was confident enough with to purchase and I have at no times regretted it. Outstanding - even non dog friends who are "car gurus" have looked at my trailer and gone WOW ! -
I use clippers or even scissors - again appreciate that you mightnt need to use them but certainly with the pugs if you dont let the air get to it and you take away that bit more hair - I find the hot spot spreads.. I have tried numerous remedies over the years and the one I mentioned earlier works best for me, and my dogs, but I am sure it is horses for courses
-
WOW I wish I could cure them without shaving -I have tried EVERYTHING over the past 30 years and have found the only effective way (on pugs) is to open the area up to air - so shave and then hit it with sulphur... Totally agree that the scab must be formed (as I said) prior to using the paw paw ointment!
-
Remove the dry food...................... 1. Shave the area (as your vet has done) 2. Clean with the old listerine. the brown one 3. Get some sulphur powder from a compounding chemist. Wait till listerine is dry and pat on sulphur 4. Repeat at least 3 times a day 5. When dry and scab has formed, dot on Lucas Paw Paw ointment. Dont rub in just dot on. Colloidal silver is also very good
