He's a disgrace and it's no wonder he never gets elected. The rspca will be rubbing their hands in glee that Moorook have such an outstanding spokesman, he is doing all the work for them. The thing is once they start down the media route they better make sure they are squeaky clean because now any incidents will be bought out in the open rather than people not bothering. I had some long chats with one of their people yesterday and came away realising they aren't interested in best practise and want to continue the way they are. As much as I despise the rspca I think one of their shelters or no shelter will do less harm overall.

Have you read the recent proposed changes to the codes? It will wipe out most small breeders and provide a legitimate business and lots of profit for PFs. What they should be doing is push for existing laws to be enforced to clean up PFs instead of throwing out good breeders in the new laws. Hobby breeders don't want their dogs living in kennels, PFs don't care. So making all dog breeders build kennels so PFs are policed will stop small breeders who can't and won't put their pets in kennels.

I like that people have good intentions don't worry :laugh: Bad laws will destroy good breeders and allow puppy farmers to thrive but the OL people haven't caught on to that yet. I can't handle that much dumb so that's another reason I don't support them

That's the problem PL, the supporters are pushing the don't buy line very strongly and I suspect that the OL people also believe it but don't want to say it officially.

Are the comments still there? I don't know why the water containers are so large, I can only guess that it's so they don't have to fill them as often?

There is nothing wrong with advertising online or print media. I also wouldn't take their word that they support ethical breeders because I've seen enough to suggest they only put that bit in to shut people up. The don't buy while shelter dogs die is constantly trotted out by supporters. Go find their FB and start asking them real questions, see how long before they block you.

What happens is the minister talks to the rspca who tell him/her that it is baseless and the minster goes on record as saying the problem is fixed. The rspca is their authority on welfare matters as well so it becomes circular. The papers aren't really interested.

Ringo, the reason that people are so angry about the lack of accountability is that they have tried what you suggest. It just doesn't work. I know it should work but it doesn't.
