I thought I read separately that she was to attend Berri. I would have though Adelaide as well because Berri only does civil cases. -

Berri court doesn't list cases that far ahead so I can't check there. I wonder if they did have a date all ready for her. -

Keep an eye out for a date in case I miss it. Probably have to line up early because the supporters will all want to be inside as well. -

People can ask but the supporters would lynch you if you asked the wrong way. It wouldn't matter if they got the facts wrong, they'd just say that isn't important, I saw them do this already. -

I think that is too sophisticated for them to understand. -

Jesus, shit got real The supporters seem to be made up of a lot of people who aren't too smart and have not verified a thing Moorook has claimed. Of course they are going to deny they left conditions unmedicated. You can't see inside a dog and unless Lola has been on top of things the oldies could be suffering unless they had complete check ups including blood screens. None of the list surprises me either. -

I'll also add this. "Mark Aldridge She is on her own, trying to clean 50 cages, and it appears the rSPCA to back their position need to take more animals, just had a call they are heading that way, no confirmation yet, this will be the problem of the coming weeks, so she needs support near on full time atm" -

There is no doubt he is making it worse. He doesn't seem to have any real integrity and will lose interest and move on to a new cause once he has what he wants. -

WTF is wrong with that man, what did he hope to gain by posting that bull. When you read this Moorook, told you he was a problem and not the second coming of Christ like you seemed to think. -

I was thinking about that today, how people will believe anything they are told on social media because they want it to be true. Anyone I meet in the animal world just launches into their own horrible stories as soon as they are mentioned. You have no idea how much I wish I could let some facts out there about what really goes on, but I won't betray people's trust and they'd be identifiable. -

I can't see her towing the line either, she has already basically said she won't and things will go back to the way they were because she doesn't see a problem with it. Congrats Mark, look what you achieved, you really showed those filthy scum. -

He's just a Goddamn hero! Except his Aldridge factor is in doubt considering he never actually gets elected to get anything done  Now here's what I don't understand and posted in the latest rspca thread. How come they can press charges on these dogs but are powerless to act with those horrendous puppy farms and must bring in new laws to tightly control all breeders. Moorook needs a damn good kick up the arse and to be kept accountable but I'd much rather see dogs seized who are bred to death, thin and living under 6 inches of matted coat. -

From the boycott rspca South Australia page. I don't know if it's true though. "Canine Detection Services Well, the rspca have sunk to a new low, they are filing animal cruelty charges against Lola Of Moorook. I have trained a number of dogs for Lola to help get them a home, I have also transported dogs to & from the vet for her & know how much money she has spent on some of the dogs, & remember, the money she spends does not come from large numbers of donations or Govt. funding, she works damn hard to earn that money that helps keep the shelter going. What this "person" in the rspca is doing, completely sickens me, the charge of animal cruelty is being leveled at the wrong person in my opinion, Lola doesn't take healthy dogs & cats & kill them. Lola needs all the support she can get, & don't think for one moment that the rspca will stop at Moorook, if they win this round, they will move on to other non kill shelters. Don't forget the rally on the 19th May, lets show these people that they are answerable. Bob, the dog man." -
Sorry if I sounded rude, I can't watch commercial TV so just got a bit extra questiony

But is the episode a repeat or is the episode current and they are using old footage?

Do you ever use sunscreen? I would hate to see a sub type of a working breed that was unable to ever be fit for purpose. Do you realise that you are suggesting that there be a different category for pink nose Maremma that includes no working. What is a Maremma that can't work? It boils down to this. If breeders don't take the gene seriously by the time the effects of it are known it will be too late because the gene will be widespread. Why take the risk because it looks pretty? You have no clue about the health of the dogs in Italy with pink noses, unless you have their blood test results you can't take their word for it. It's a disorder, I think you are forgetting that, even the brown (not pink) nose dogs have a disorder. Plenty of Australian breeders lie about their dog's health, don't think the Italians are above that. They don't seem to have been doing such a great job with Maremma, there is a big crisis with hips isn't there. I wouldn't be looking to favourably on a group of breeders that let something as important as hips get out of control.

I would absolutely eliminate that gene from my breeding dogs no matter how nicely they fit the standard because first and foremost they are a working dog and anything that affects working ability must not be tolerated. I stopped showing and breeding my dachies a long time ago because I wasn't happy with some things that were turning up in my lines. I've walked the walk. No one has said that nose skin cancer is restricted to dogs with depigmented noses. What has been said it that the risk is higher than if the nose is fully pigmented. Would you put an Irish immigrant into the midday sun without sunscreen? No, because they lack melanin to protect from sun damage. I'm nearly purely Irish with a bit of English and I'm one of many, many Australians with developing skin cancers due to my lack of melanin. As to the health issues being unknown, well how can an enzyme deficiency be anything that can be dismissed? Do you think there might be a lot of breeders in Italy that aren't truthful about their dogs. There are certainly quite a few in Australia that hide genetic diseases in their lines. Consider this, the light noses have only just started to become widespread, there is not enough time to discover the real effects of this disorder and in the mean time the gene becomes widespread and fixed. By the time it is confirmed that the enzyme deficiency is actually a problem, as all other enzyme deficiencies are, hence the term deficiency, the gene is too widespread to eliminate effectively. So all lines are contaminated by this gene because people are putting prettiness above health and working ability. Breeders who want to avoid this gene have a much smaller gene pool to then select from. I've done plenty of genetics at uni too so you don't have the monopoly on understanding this. A small gene pool is not a disaster if you breed inteligently, if you are falling for the AR garbage you need to go do some more reading. It is entirely possible to have a very small population of healthy animals if you select wisely and cull ruthlessly. Go look up the highly inbred mice used in labs. If some Italians breed three legged Maremma would you do it too? Just because they do it means nothing, it just means a bunch of people are again breeding for the ring and forgetting that health is the most important thing to consider. There is no way I'd risk introducing a defective enzyme producing gene that is at best unknown and worst capable of causing significant disease just because I wanted to do better in the ring. Breeding isn't for pussies.

You better believe you'll be prosecuted if you throw that bone on the ground, they wouldn't put anything in they aren't interested in enforcing.
