  1. Elle was absolutely over the moon when we brought Sarge home. I'd never seen her so excited. Poor Sarge got bowled over but he just got up and toddle over to her to try and suckle her Elle has been excited about every dog we've added to the pack. She loves puppies and any dog that comes into our house. She never ever used to play tug or fetch but when Sarge came home she found her second youth and now enjoys a play (unless she's napping).
  2. I may have one floating around.... will have a look and let you know That would be terrific CnR. Thank you
  3. Congratulations rubystar! ;) You must be so proud of yourself and Ruby. She looks so tired. Another Q guys. Is there a way I can get a copy of the dogswest magazine from May 2007?
  4. If you go on the City Farmers website and look at the contact us or trading hrs page they give the easter opening hrs, I was at City Farmers today and am almost sure they are open tomorrow Omg how did I miss that! I musn't have scrolled all the way down the page ;) Thanks Joelle and Masons mum
  5. Anyone know if city farmers or better pets and gardens are open tomorrow? Their websites are no help, mention nothing about easter trading.
  6. http://www.thepetchef.com.au/setup/ There's a menu and price list and also info on delivery days and what you need to do when it gets delivered etc.
  7. Thanks for the quick replies I will check out cheapa chicken.
  8. RE: The Pet Chef. Roughly how many chicken frames would be in a 1kg bag? At least 4? Also, what sort of containers are their mixes in? I'm thinking of getting some "Scavengers Find" and other things. TIA P.S. I hate all hot cross buns, especially the ones with fruit.
  9. When they were evacuating the flats at the mud slide they couldn't contact the man who lives in one of the flats on the 1st level. They were referring to him as missing but haven't heard any more on that. We went to coles to get some stuff for dinner (can't cook anything because we haven't got power so just got rolls and stuff) and there's a street that had some construction work and the site has just been wrecked. The ground caved in around the site too and there were lots of big trucks and men standing there scratching their heads. Just now one of my neighbours has their sprinklers going......umm?
  10. I know! Have they found the missing man yet?
  11. Our poor rabbit was totally freaked out Muddy was so scared he was trembling but the other dogs seemed alright. Just followed me everywhere and if they heard a clap of thunder they ran to their bed. Glad it's over! All we wanted was some rain but of course we got a freak storm.
  12. Hey Nick, I haven't been to that better pets and gardens, just the one in osbourne park but it is so much better than city farmers. I wish I had a store closer though, so I just go to city farmers because of distance. Anyway I've been to select pets. Such an awful place. It's very confusing too because they support Cat Haven and help rehome their kittens except then they support BYBs and puppy farmers by selling stupid DDs and some "purebreds". There were some gorgeous paps and goldies when I went. Wonder what's happened to them
  13. Hey luffy The furminator may be cutting his coat which would account for a lot of hair. I would just give it a break and go at it with a comb tomorrow and if there's still tonnes maybe give him a bath to get a lot of it out. When Sarge is in full shed I do at least a 2 hour grooming session to get the bulk of it out. Do I or ? ETA I think it's impossible to reach a point where you brush a corgi and only a few hairs come off...unless you had a naked corg
  14. Sarge would be a chef because he loves all kinds of food. Daina would be in the army or some other hardcore job She'd be the BEST police officer. Elle would be a stay at home mum with a nanny and a cleaner, gardener etc because she is super lazy. Muddy would be in a profession that requires a LOT of energy and a really happy disposition. Maybe a kids phys ed teacher or something
  15. Sounds like it may be conjunctivitis. If it turns out it is, you can get Bleph-10 from chemists and it works a treat.
  16. Thanks golden rules I will check them out. For anyone else looking I did a search before and the cheapest online place seems to be priceless pets. I've bought from them before and they are really good
  17. Same here! Never had a flea problem until now. We are finding that frontline is useless. We have been doing everything except flea bomb the house and yard because that doesn't sit well with us and we have nowhere to take all the animals for 24hrs while it airs out. Where can you buy comfortis online?
  18. I am a total beginner and have no experience with other DSLRs but can tell you about the one I have. It's a Nikon D3000, have had it for a few weeks and it is fantastic. So simple to use and gives nice clear shots. The aim was to get a camera that will take nice pictures of the dogs (mainly) and this does the job. I really want to get a macro lens now though to take super close up pictures or plants and things, that will be fun. I haven't done anything other than the auto setting but there are lots of things to play around with and the manual that comes with it explains all of the options well. Some sites: http://www.nikon.com.au/productitem.php?pid=1330-ae86b1ea79 http://www.cnet.com.au/nikon-d3000-339297635.htm We bought this camera really cheap from Harvey Norman. I think it was $700 plus lens and memory card prices. A guy at another camera store told us that Harvey Norm was selling it so cheap they wouldn't be making a profit so it was a bargain.
  19. When ever they need it. That could be twice in one day or not for a few months.
  20. I thought this was going to be a thread about desexing Echo is super cute as always.
  21. Just introduce Henry slowly to roo meat. My old dog Elle had never had roo before and she threw up her roo tail after eating it. Now her body is used to it and it's easily her favourite thing to eat (same with the other dogs).
  22. Hi Kristenfaction When I posted on here a few years ago looking for tips on getting weight off a dog it was suggested to break up the walks into more smaller walks rather than one or two big walks. This keeps their body burning energy and using fat stores for longer. But that would be hard for you to do since you work. Maybe on weekends you could give it a go. Definitely swap the peanut butter for something else. I'd be wary about using vegemite, doesn't that have a super high salt content? The amount is fine for humans but you know how when it comes to dogs it's something like one biscuit is the equivalent of 5 donuts or something. Pumpkin, carrot and sweet potato are great for tubby dogs, as is kangaroo meat. No advice on keeping him occupied during the day. My dogs and my neighbours lab just sleep Which obedience club are you going to?
  23. Congratulations to TT for you and Ceri's win!
  24. Does anybody know the results of any corgis entered?
