  1. Yes RS we saw you and Millie then! In that video, at the 1 min mark, my brother is the guy in red behind you/slightly camera right. We didn't watch your whole routine because he was impatient to pat a pig As soon as I saw a choc lab though I said "I think that dog is from my forum". I am a DOL tragic We weren't exhibiting or anything, just spectators.
  2. The person who wrote the pembroke and vallhund breed reviews obviously knows nothing about them. Just took the stereotype of herding dogs = nip and chase everything.
  3. I think we saw rubystar and Millie doing their obedience today! There was a gorgeous choc lab who was getting a little distracted Was that Millie? I think she did a lovely job and looked like she had fun!
  4. Corgis and Valls may not be suitable for their energy requirements. Generally, they are high energy breeds, but it does vary within different lines. My corgi girl has SO much energy, she is always ready to go and is constantly dropping tennis balls at my feet. She will be tired after a long walk or run but give her ten minutes and she's ready to go again. My older corgi boy loves nothing more than a walk but he isn't too fussed if he doesn't get one and won't hassle you. My younger boy is a bit of a mix, some days he is full of beans and other days he just wants to watch tv ;) So they'd need to let their breeder know that they want a quieter dog or do some research into lines. Grooming of a vall is super easy, just a brush when they need it. Corgis need a little bit more brushing but it's still easy. They do shed a lot though, corgis more than valls. Are they ok with shedding? If cavs are on their list then they must be ok with shedding. Get them to go and meet some corgis and valls if possible because they could fit.
  5. Yep dogs are allowed. From the Kings Park website: It's a really nice place to walk them, especially the more "bush" parts.
  6. Lovely pictures. We went to Kings Park with the dogs last Sunday. Did you see the statue of the man walking a guide dog? My dogs thought it was a real dog and got so excited Muddy going in for a bum sniff
  7. Well I ordered on Monday and it arrived yesterday, Thursday. Very good considering it's coming from the other side of the country! Just what I ordered. Slightly off topic but the poor delivery guy is terrified of dogs so I try to be the one who answers the door when he comes so I can tell the dogs to go away and not scare him. I wasn't home though and my brother answered the door and Daina leaned on the guys legs and he freaked. Everyone is now aware that he is scared of dogs so hopefully my sweet little girl won't lean on him again.
  8. I just ordered from them yesterday for the 5th or 6th time and delivery is always prompt and I get what I ordered. No problems
  9. All I have is frogs over here :D
  10. I pictured Ralph Wiggum as soon as I read "unpossible".
  11. I've got two of the compost pens from bunnings. $25 each. Very good except I hate the spiral things that hold the panels together. I took them off, they were annoying me so much. I just twisted some little metal rings with pliers to hold the sides together and to make it easy to get in/out I put dog leash clips on one panel to make a door
  12. I must be the odd one out I've always thought leash walking was more tiring. Whenever my dogs have an offlead romp they have a little burst of zoomies and then just plod along sniffing or maybe say hello to another dog. I much prefer solid leash walking for 30-60 minutes and so do they
  13. Muddy loves to sit like that
  14. My red heads are water babies and love attacking the water from the hose. Exhibit A
  15. Excellent I will make sure I'm not working Thanks ST
  16. I've had a squiz at the royal show website but can't find any schedule for the dogs conformation? Can anyone tell me what day corgis are on?
  17. It looks like puppy ears start down and then go up as they get older, is that right or are my eyes seein things? Yup ears aren't born erect but good strong ears will go up while they are young (usually before 10 weeks) whereas weaker ear leather may need some help or take longer. Daina has rock solid ears and hers went up very early. Muddy has terribly weak ears and needed to be taped many times on and off until he was about 6 months. Sarge was never taped, one ear went up between 3 and 4 months, the other one never went up and now the cartilage would have set so there's no chance. The ears can go all sorts of crazy during teething.
  18. Nope both kinds come in tri colour and can be fluffy. Long coats are a major fault and recessive genetically so not hugely common. Before the docking ban came in the easiest way to tell the two apart were that cardigans have tails and pembrokes don't. If you see two side by side you can easily tell them apart though. Cardis have different heads, bigger ears with a different set, their front legs are wonky etc. This is a DOL members website http://www.trehilyn.com/a-gallery-of-corgis.asp If you scroll down the page she illustrates some differences. ETA: pembroke colours http://www.pembrokecorgi.org/colors.html cardigan colours http://cwcorgi.com/Aragorn/ColorRegist.htm Cardis get all the fun colours
  19. They're all Pembroke brand Yep all mine Golden Rules.
  20. RS Fluffies do grow up to be pretty stunning Really truly drop dead gorgeous they are..
  21. Thanks guys, corgis are pretty darn cute. Yep RS they are all corgis but the tri colour and the last puppy are fluffies (long coats) so they look a bit different. I myself am loving the lab puppy photos Ruby should have been on those toilet paper ads!
  22. Just wanted to join in with the puppy spam Somebody has to grow into her ears!
  23. We have sardine sunday where the dogs get sardines, yoghurt and a whole egg.
  24. My spitz dogs get along with dogs of all sorts Daina's best friend is a boxer and Sarge's is a labrador. I've found that there are no "rules" in the dog world. Each dog is different. Good luck introducing them
