If this does happen you can report the ad and it will be removed. Advertising for animals to breed with is against Gumtree's Pet Policy rules.

I was just about to say that. Most councils around here have a maximum lead length of 2m.

How Did You Help Your Dog 'get Over' Wearing A Coat?
Mim replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just ignore her and go on about things as normal. She'll get used to it. To speed things up you could have her wearing it while she does things she enjoys. Perhaps slow short walks (don't want her to overheat) or while she eats dinner or plays with a treat dispenser. -
How fast do you have yours set when you use it, Rebanne? I like it to sit on 3 (unmarked, but the dot in between 2 and 4). My technique is to grind in a sort of stroking motion, on and off. I feel like I can control the trim more and it's more effecient this way than if I just hold the grinder to the nail. When trimming Daina's nails with clippers, she would squirm, kick and push as she protested. It wouldn't be constant, but enough to annoy me and make the job take twice as long. She would time her kicks, just as I was setting up my aim with the clippers and about to snip. She is so at ease with the dremel though and just lies there without a fuss. Hopefully your dogs will come to like the dremel too, Anne.

Anne, that's the one I've got and I love it!

A Follow On Thread For Those Who Now Have Their Puppy
Mim replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Puppy Chat
What time of the day is puppy school? Try doing training at home at that time of day too, maybe? Does he do some training and then walk away? It could be that his attention span just isn't good enough yet and he's bored/tired. What kind of treats are you using? Try something high value like sausage or BBQ chicken and if he doesn't work for that then I'd say you have a very stubborn little boy on your hands! Obviously not all corgis are the same but the ones I've had have always been enjoyed training, even as puppies, and will consider any food to be good food. -
What Was Your Latest New Purchase For Your Doggy?
Mim replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
A king size bed! -
Close call! It looks like the quick is quite long in that nail, what would groomers do in that circumstance? Trim just before the quick and leave a long nail? Or cause the dog some discomfort and trim it short but cut the quick?

When my old girl was seeing a chiro because of her degenerative myelopathy I was told to build up her hind muscles using hill work and that walking in soft sand (like beach sand) and swimming were also great.

Deb Nook is back in Perth for the month of August and she is just great. She does acupuncture/physio/chiro and absolutely loves dogs. She is south of the river and the first visit is $70 (any further visits are $50). She is very good and also very honest. If she cannot fix what is wrong, or knows that the dog needs surgery or xrays or something then she will tell you straight up. ETA: Can contact her on her email debnook@westnet.com.au

Congratulations RV and Zora!! Can't wait to see photos of the little babies :)

They're 8"x11" but there are different sizes available.

Anne, with the US$ stronger than ours they were about $57 each. I am so happy with them, everyone I've shown has loved them too.

DobieMum have you had a portrait done yet? After posting in here I decided to knuckle down and choose photos of two of my previous dogs to get drawn by Joe and they arrived today. These are bad photos taken on my phone and the pictures are in plastic sleeves until I frame them but when you're up close the detail is just great.

Has Anyone Bought A Dog Dryer Off Ebay?
Mim replied to cassie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I got mine off eBay for <$200 and it's great. I imagine the more expensive, reputable brands would be better but for a pet owner with three double coated dogs it saves me a lot of time and gives good results. I think I got it about three years ago and I've never had an issue. -
Z, looks like his ears already have a lot of lift in them. I'd expect them to be up before he's teething (5/6 months) but then they might go a bit crazy during teething. What do your kids think of him?

Link doesn't work for me, CC. ETA: Your link from the crestie thread works :)

That is so soon Zereuloh!! So excited for you!

MUP did you message them and let them know? I had a parcel never arrive and the seller sent out a replacement and wouldn't accept my money for it. There's probably some dodgy people on there but just look at those who have good feedback (like ebay) and who give you a good vibe. It's such an awesome website. ETA: also, I've only ever seen PayPal as an option for payment method with Etsy shops so you could open a transaction dispute through PayPal.

You will need to first sign up to Etsy (it's quick and they never send spam) and then send him a message. In that message let him know what you'd like (size, # of dogs etc) and he will give you a quote. Also include the picture you want done in the message (one picture per message) and he crops it to show you exactly what he will draw. To send him a message, after you sign up, click here and you will see on the left-hand side that there's a link called "Contact the shop owner". Click on that and he will reply quickly. I love his work so much I'm getting portraits done of each of my past dogs as a nice keepsake.

Etsy is full of artists who do pet portraits on commission. You can find an artist to suit any budget or style you're after. I have used both of these artists and was so impressed with their work. I highly recommend both of them. This is the picture I had commissioned by Joe from The Art Alert. Very, very fast, cheap and the quality is outstanding. You feel like you could reach out and pat the dog in the picture. And this is the artist I commissioned to paint my long-coated corgi boy. She was also very fast and well-priced and I just love her style. So have a look around Etsy, just search "custom pet portrait" and I am sure you will find something you like.

My boy had both his testes undescended and I waited until he was about 15 months to get him desexed. The vet said the testes were very small but other than that looked normal. Probably would have been fine waiting longer than that. You definitely should get the dog desexed, but I'd wait until he has finished growing.

These Fido's tablets are the cheapest around I think, but they don't treat whipworm. They're for dogs and cats.

Very sorry to read that Louis is unwell, CC. The corgis and I will be thinking of him and hoping that he starts improving :)

Hopefully it's just an upset tummy, poor little Zig. Daina had very similar symptoms late one Good Friday night (of course). I was very concerned so took her to an emergency vet. They did 2 examinations with a large break in between and couldn't find a thing wrong with her! When they brought her out she was perky and wanting to play, little bitch  Scaring me like that!
