Can you give him a toilet inside? Could be as simple as a puppy pad or some newspaper or even a "pet loo". Somewhere he can poo on that is easy to clean up. If not, consider a dog walker as someone mentioned above.

I use a metal greyhound comb, pin brush, and a rake for when they're shedding heavily. Never, ever a furminator.

I love Animal House shampoos, conditioners and sprays for my corgis.

Looking for Pembroke Welsh Corgi breeder that has puppies
Mim replied to Neblits1984's topic in General Dog Discussion
Try going to some shows and building a relationship with breeders that way. You will be waiting a while for a Pembroke puppy. -
Definitely look into bagged miele vacuums! I got one this year and will never go back to a dyson.

I have nothing to add except that I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember your dogs and always loved seeing photos of them.

Carl the corgi national is coming up on June 7 and 8 so you will be able to meet a lot of breeders and owners if you go along. Details can be found here: https://welshcorgisa.com/important-dates-and-information/ Great way to start a relationship and you won't be dealing with scammers.

The Adventures Of Ronin And Tigger - Update 29/05/17
Mim replied to Yonjuro's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh poor Tigger! He's been attacked there before hasn't he? I've definitely seen a worrying number of irresponsible owners and rude dogs there when I've gone past. Where is the park in your videos located? Looks very nice (and quiet!) Ronin looks terrific, by the way. -
Off-topic but, hi luffy! You popped into my head the other day! If you're on facebook come join our group "Australian Welsh Corgis Group"

Lots of good suggestions here. You will likely need to be on a waiting list for a while to get a corgi puppy, but a well-bred puppy is worth the wait. I would take up the offer to have your email wording looked at by members on here, as that may be putting off breeders, and be mindful of the weather poor QLDers are dealing with at the moment.

I've had 5 girls and 2 boys of the same breed (well, one was a very similar breed to the others) and while each one has been very different from the others, the girls have definitely been more affectionate than the boys. Small sample size though so who knows!
-
I would put this down to not all registered breeders being ethical. Plenty of dodgy breeders who are registered with the canine council.

Can you sew thistle? I made a crate cover and it wasn't too difficult.

He's gorgeous!!

Shows Sun and Mon of Cup Weekend are actually at Goonawarra Reserve, Rolling Meadows off Lancefield Rd Sunbury. Sunday is Working Dogs only but most exhibitors come for the weekend, Mon is Vic Womens All Breeds Ch Show And Tuesday is the Cup Day show at Sunbury, biggest single show in Vic I believe, held at Rec Reserve Riddell Rd Sunbury Should be some Corgis there although not many seem to be bred these days Oh no,there are lots and lots being bred. Whether they are being bred by good, registered breeders is the question.

Amstaff Vs English, Different Breeds?
Mim replied to phantomreptiles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Are Bull Terriers included in this 'Pit Bull' umbrella term and do they then also get caught up in some of this terrible BSL? Yes, definitely. My friend has a mini bull terrier who has been called a pit bull and it seems to be a common experience from what I read online from other bully owners. -
Actually a great suggestion!

Definitely not on the decline. There are some dogs being used for herding and obedience but I am not aware of any "working line" corgis, well not pembrokes at least. What does she want to do with her dog that makes her want working line? She should look for a breeder who shows in Australia with success, as good conformation = durable and able to work. And then she should tell those show breeders what she wants in a dog and they can tell her if their lines would be suitable or not :)

Today I saw a harlequin Great Dane in its pjs, an Irish terrier, a bichon puppy and two elderly English pointers! A very good day for dog spotting.

If you're okay with lots of shedding and a good brush once or twice a fortnight, a Pembroke Corgi is worth looking in to. My bitch would be exactly what you want (her best friend for a long time was even a boxer). Also, you mention bull terriers. My friend has a miniature bull terrier and despite so many people saying they don't get along with other dogs, she is a dream with other dogs! Perhaps this is true of the minis but less of the standards?

I come in every day to check the countdown, Eza! Can't wait for puppy pics!
-
Yep already happened and continuing. Lots of owners wanting the cute breed they've seen online and unfortunately there are breeders who are happy to meet the demand regardless of if the buyers are suitable owners. As you can imagine that then leads to all sorts of issues.

Double coated dogs here - I give a thorough brush once a week and usually little touch up brushes once or twice a week (definitely for my long coat boy but less so for the standard coats). Baths... Once every 4-8 weeks. They don't really ever get smelly and they still look clean but to me they don't smell fresh enough  Never get a doggy smell though. Nails I do minimum once a week. Ears...whenever I feel the whim! And I scale teeth once every 2-4 weeks. Gonna start up brushing their teeth again since they're all getting on in age.
