Ok Calm Me Dumb But What Does This Mean.....
Libertybrook replied to Jsk's topic in General Dog Discussion
yes I would say Ben Luxton is doing Utility, they did a similar thing up at the recent Moree KC show held at Gunndah, they judged utility in the morning in ring 3 then the judge changes to ring 2 to do working and non sporting in the afternoon, no dramas, everybody just set up at the rings their group was going to be in each day the groups never changed for each ring each day, the judges moved. it wasnt hard to follow and none of the competitors had to move. -
I am pretty sure Courtney Smith's Puli was BIG Group 5 and went onto BIS on Sunday,

we are coming, so looking forward to it, Gil is a great show and run by a terrific hard working small committee

Our last litter in March were whelped behind our Bar in the family room, it has slate floors and brick surrounds, its draught free and stays a constant temperature, we put a puppy pen at one as it is closed in brick at the other, the bitch has a quiet cosy place to whelp and plenty of room to move as the babies grow. we put down plenty of newspaper then Vet bed was placed on top and changed daily or as needed. plus we are always within ear shot of any noises and walk past all the time, to other parts of the house, the pups become very well socialised and get used to noises people etc, they stay there until about 4 weeks then go outside into the big run

No not always, ;) its great when they do it gives mea an idea if classes will clash with other groups that I have to be in, and I can orgnise people to give me a hand and return the favour when they need a hand
-
glad to see its not just me then... ;) it will be 7 weeks since our last show :D and my new baby will be making his debut in July at over 4 months, lol, cause we havent had any local shows to go to :D we have a huge over 3 month break over christmas/new year the first month or so is bearable, but by February its manic !! ;)

Having quite a number of small shows out our way, committee members often enter their dogs in the show to boost numbers, this probably wouldnt be of as much of a concern in the much larger city shows, they dont always actually show, or they get someone else to show their dogs in the ring, I have entered retired dogs that are not shown in our local shows to boost numbers, every little bit helps, plus also here we have people whom help out and are on the committee at a number of different shows 100's of km's apart, because we have a much smaller amount of people whom are able to or are willing to put their hand up and help out. you will find that it is the same people, on committees and being show Reps, card writing and generally lending a hand week in week out, and if we didnt show, at our "local' shows because we were helping out we would never get to show !! :D

SBT123 makes great coats, she made me 4 terry towelling ones for my BC's they are great because I can wet the part I want to wet and lay flat they have velcro fastenings on the front and belly band,I can also add extra towel under the rug if I want and it doesnt slip she can also make satin rugs and snoods and rugs with hoods for cold days, lol.

way to go !! congratulations , it feels great when one of your babies gets a title !!
-
she is only a baby, they are not expected to be perfect, I love watching baby classes they are all so happy and have so much fun, I think the judges get a kick out of their antics sometimes too ;) babies only have a short attention span like MM said a few minutes a day is all that is needed, she will get the gist of it eventually, make it a fun happy thing, ignore anything she may do wrong and make a big fuss when she does something right, make it fun so she enjoys going in the ring, baby classes and sweepstakes are all about getting them used to the ring ;)

I saw him get puppy in group on the Saturday he is really something special !!! cogratulations ;) -
for our recent litter I wrote in their notes in the folder that goes with the puppy , that from time to time we would love to hear from the puppy's family with the occasional photo and update every 6 months would do, ' I still get updates from a litter nearly 5 years ago, it lovely to know that not only did they grow into beautiful dogs but are still also much loved and cared for family members, and I always respond, because they are just as proud of their dogs as I am

All our babies went to great homes and to great families, all who were caring and everyone in the family got involved, I have had feedback already on the pups journey to their new homes and how well they have fitted in, it so nice to get feedback and photos and know that our babies are so loved !

Main Register? - Limited Register?
Libertybrook replied to dwayne pype's topic in Breeders Community
So very well said Jed :p we just had our first litter in 4.5 years, some were sold on the limited register some on the main, all were the same price, the ones on limited register all went to lovely families who didnt want to show, and some were going to do dog sports etc the main register ones went to performance homes one's retained here to show, I charged the average going price for BC puppies, there were 8. less one for Stud fee, less one for a gift to a friend, less one for feeding/worming for 9/10 weeks, less one for vaccinations, Microchipping, travelling costs to take bitch to stud dog, two days off work, motel accomodation, Less two we are keeping here to show, so 6 out of the 8 didnt bring us any re-coup costs, the other 2 would barely cover the puppy packs and other misc. costs, so why do we do it? to breed a new generation, to have something hopefully good enough to show/ compete with breed from down the track etc, and the absolute joy I get, and I am a chest puffingly proud Grandma, when one of my babies does well in the ring/performance sports etc, or I get photos from people who have a wonderful dog that they love to bits. obviously not for the money....... -
mine all the same price regardless, I had a woman ring me about a puppy in my recent litter and said she would double what I was asking for a puppy that was already sold !! she was none too impressed when I told her he was going to a lovely home with a great family, she got shirty with me and said " well how much do you want then??" I promptly hung up !!!
-
congratulations Mel !!!
