  3. Maybe try a little bit of yoghurt? Is she drinking? I wouldn't stress too much today - but if she still isn't eating by tomorrow, I'd be taking her back to the vet. I agree with Persephone, she'll probably feel much better tomorrow. My pup hardly ate anything her first few days with us after being flown in from NZ.
  4. My love and thoughts go to Page's family at this time. I am glad that she was able to spend her last days in her home surrounded by those she loved. Sleep peacefully little one. THERE IS A NEW STAR SHINING IN THE SKY TONIGHT ... There is an old belief that the stars shining in the night sky are the spirits of those who have died. They have shed their earthly bodies and exchanged them for bodies made of light; thousands upon thousands of our dear departed friends all promoted to glory in the night sky. There is another saying that the brightest flame burns the shortest. My friend, you were the brightest star in my own universe. While I burn on, my flame dimmed by grief and despair at your passing, the stars are watching me. They are too far away for me to touch, just as you have gone somewhere I cannot follow until my own star-time comes. They cannot be held close for comfort, just as I can no longer hold you close, though I held you close to comfort you in your final hours. We were together for such a short time, but the stars will burn forever. One day I will grow tired of this earthbound body, my own star-time will come and my spirit will soar into the sky to burn with all those friends who have gone before me. On the inky cloth of space we will be reunited in constellations of joy. Until then, my flame burns low and dim and cold without you. Through my tears I look upwards to see if you are watching me and what do I see? There is a new star shining in the sky tonight. -By Sarah Hartwell Mollie
  5. I've only been to the first class, but our puppy preschool was really, really good. The pups had a chance to get to know each other before the class began. Our trainer interspaced talking with practical lessons, so it gave the pups a chance to learn, but also to have periods of settling and calm. I would not expect my pup to sit still for an hour while someone talked at me. I'd be finding a better puppy school Mollie
  6. Thank you - we like her  With a puppy I would be leaning towards grass or newspaper on the balcony. Puppies don't have that much control, so I'd want somewhere that's easily accessible for them at first. Once he or she gets older you can re-evaluate. (Edited because I can't spell)
  7. Hi there, My OH and I went through a similar debate as to what type of dog to get. I have allergies so I needed something with the wool type coat as opposed to fur, but he only likes bigger dogs, so I had to look around for a bigger, low allergy dog - we finally compromised on a soft coated wheaten terrier. (have attached a picture of my little one below, because I want to show her off) I think the idea of going to a dog show is a good one. Also read up on heaps of different breeds together (the wonders of the internet) - work out exactly what qualities you like in a dog - I'm sure you'll find one that you both love. Alternatively you could check out rescue pups  BTW I don't think there is any such thing as an 'ugly dog'
  8. I have clothes on my floor but that is only because my lovely boyfriend thinks that is a better place to have them than hung up or in laundry basket, which he has access too - i have given up picking up after him - he is a big boy and can do it himself. And they wonder why women 'nag' so much.... well apprantley i do But lucky for me, my pup does no peeing inside. My man has left his shoes on the floor in the lounge and the pup is quite interested in them - i keep her away but if she gets to them he will have to learn the hard way! You have my utmost sympathy. My boyfriend does the exact same thing. It is so frustrating. Our new pup is arriving next week and I figure if anything will get him to pick up his clothes it will be either the puppy peeing on them or ripping them to shreds...
