Poor girl - I do hope that if they find her she will be ok....

Hi Simple, It's going to be a bit of trial and error. Dogs have their own personalities and they all like different things. One of mine preferred soccer balls, another Aussie rules balls, another tennis balls. 2 liked birds, 1 like to sleep. All liked food. 2 liked water ( 2 liked sea water - 1 didn't like normal water but love the sea), all 3 liked to dig, 1 liked to jump, 2 liked rope toys, 1 like kongs. 2 love cuddle toys to go to bed with - 1 just ripped them to shreds. Your puppy will be what he/she is. Play it by ear....have fun!

What was the diagnoses that resulted in that particular drug being prescribed?

Having something of a background with databases...I found it interesting that all phone numbers had the leading 0 missing. That normally happens when you import from a .csv file without specifying that certain fields should be read as text. Most programs see numbers and read as numbers but will ignore the leading 0. To get leading 0 to be read the field must be imported as text field BEFORE the import is completed. Hypothetically - the information could have been provided in .csv format from another program and then imported incorrectly.

Purebred Dog Certificate Of Registration (where Is It From?)
AmandaJ replied to Boronia's topic in General Dog Discussion
If I put my MDBA membership number (and the SACA one) on any add I place for puppies, would the membership bodies confirm that I exist? -
Take a look at the herding instinct practice and tests. Its funnier than that. When we took ours out a Polish Lowland Sheepdog spooked the sheep and one ended up knocking the owner on his ass . Most of us got tied up with the long control lines . It was all so funny.

I WISH mine would sleep in. Up at the crack of dawn - first bird starts chirping and they want out The birds around here have a death wish - especially the young ones. I've seen them "dive bombing" at the dogs. No rest for the wicked around here.

If it gets over 40 for a few days straight we get the neighbours to let the dogs in. Otherwise they have plenty of shade, lots of water and a childs paddling pool in the shade to cool off in.

Go to the Mater Dog Breeders site - their Certificate courses are fantastic. I've learned far more from them than I have from any breeder. My mother used to breed and she's astounded at the stuff I'm learning.

Florinef is used for Addisons disease....is that what your dog was being treated for? About Florinef and Fludrocortisone Addison's Disease Medications Fludrocortisone is the generic name for the medication Florinef. Fludrocortisone is a corticosteroid hormone that helps regulate the concentration of sodium and potassium in the body. Florinef is often used in the treatment of adrenal insufficiency (hypoadrenocorticism) as caused by canine addison's disease in dogs. On occasion it is also used to lower potassium levels in animals. Due to it's possible side effects and the way it affects the body, Florinef should only be used for very specific purposes as determined by your veterinarian and should not be used to treat arthritis, allergies or skin problems. Possible fludrocortisone side effects include but are not limited to vomiting, high blood pressure and diabetes. Electrolyte levels and kidney function should be monitored closely while your pet is on florinef. As with many pet medications, Florinef usage should be taken seriously and should be administered only in strict accordance to your veterinarian's instructions. http://www.pbs.gov.au/pi/bqpflori11007.pdf

Here here...........SA still does not do an exam - we have only just started having breeding seminars run by one of our vet breeders (vary basic stuff) - and anyone can apply for and get a kennel prefix without any form of vetting. I joined the MDBA to learn - that's what I'm doing. 6 years of SACA has only taught me how nasty some people can be and how stupid others are. Edited to say - not everyone is, most are really nice people. Membership alone however is no guarantee that you are doing the right thing.

OMG they have me listed with GSD - with the CORRECT mobile number.......

Please do not think that for a minute we are being negative to the care you take for your animals. Most of us do not live in your climate therefore we are not aware of the challenges your climate provides. This is a novelty to many of us, and if our exuberance offends you then we are sorry. Our primary care is for the animals, however this is achieved. All best wishes for you and new puppy..

You still may be AmandaJ - I found my full name put to somebody else's profile (nothing to do with me at all) and stuff I have written on my dogzonline website given to somebody I have never heard of. I've emailed and complained - be interesting to see if they actually do anything about it or even reply. NO...Please no.... At least it makes me laugh... I've let the other Beardie people know- will be interesting to see who takes notice...

Help New Puppy, Dont Know What Im Doing, Advice Needed
AmandaJ replied to angelnkids's topic in Puppy Chat
Once upon a time there was a site for cross breed owners....unfortunately decent advice was not very forthcoming...reason being - pure breed breeders are the ones doing all the work, spending all the money and paying for the research that tells everyone else that cross bred dogs ARE NOT as fit, healthy and functional as pure breeds...Sorry I'll get off my soap box now... -
Again - having not finished the subject - different drugs work in different ways. Some are poorly absorbed by the gut, but some of the drug is still absorbed. I wouldn't be worming a pregnant bitch - I'd wait.

Good lord have they cocked that up.......

My dogs just told me they want to go and live the "Simple" life........

I'm only part way through the parasitology subject but at this stage - don't worm her until the pups are 2 weeks old then do both her and the pups every 2 weeks until they are 8 weeks old. Worm them regularly with the normal products until 12 months. Thats where I'm up to - but the information does indicate that we are headed down the same track with worming that we have done with vaccinations - we do it to much and it is starting to show in imune resistance. The studies indicate that we need to change the way we think about worming and with intestinal worms and only worm when necessary (test them first)....But like I said - I'm not finished with the subject yet.

They are not a recognised breed by the American Kennel Club, UK Kennel Club or the A.N.K.C. They are a farm bred working dog from mixed origins - along similar lines to the Smithfield.

I use the same antihistamine for my boy that I use for hay-fever. 1 x 24 hour for a 35kg dog. You should check with your vet first (mine suggested them).

Coughing is also a symptom of heartworm and coccidia (Just finished my second assignment on parasitology and that was included)
