I'm only going on what I've heard. I would never actually attend, or enter a dog show, it's just not my thing. It wasn't the breeder making those demands, it was the buyer of Angus' brother, she just complied with what he wanted and made the comments I posted above.

I think the problems with Shar Peis eyes is the show judging. They want to see rolls, and lots of them, so the breeders attempt to breed rolls into them, hence the eyes causing problems. One of the pups from the same litter as Angus had terrible eyes, even at 8 weeks, a lot worse than his. The person who had ordered to dog has requested for it to be kept away from the other dogs, so it remained docile and unsocialised for show. Sad really.

The breeder actually mentioned his litter was the worst she's ever had in terms of being housetrained. Luckily he turned out to be a good boy We took him to puppy school once, but didn't really like it, so we decided to do it ourselves. A friend of mine is a dog trainer, so she gives me all the tips I need.

On the contrary, he is a well behaved angel, I couldn't have hoped for a better dog He has always been housetrained, sleeps well, plays well, but never chews up anything that isn't a toy. We've trained him ourselves, he's very obedient and is quick to learn new tricks if a treat is on offer. The only thing I could complain about is his overzealous attitude toward walking. He loves it, but pulls on the lead a bit. He's getting better though.

Before surgery

Kilsyth Vet He had 2 tackings then a top lid entropian on both eyes. According to the breeder he is the best shar pei vet in Melbourne. I guess we didn't have a choice, because his lids were so bad, there was no other choice. Tacking wasn't making a lasting impression.

In regard to the chick mince, do I have to cook it or just serve it raw? Where would I find tuna suitable for him? What veges would you recommend? Where would I get Megaderm and Pyohex?

Well his eyes had better be good after the money we've paid out for surgery

Angus Thanks a lot for your advice, I will implement this diet as soon as I can. I was advised by the breeder the feed him on that diet.

My Shar Pei pup has had a terrible itch lately. I know it's part and parcel of Shar Pei ownership, and it's the season for it, but I want to give him some relief. Any products out there people can recommend to help my little boy?
