That's very sad. If Hermes needed the op and he would gain a better quality of life then I would try my absolute hardest to get the cash together- no idea where the money would come from but I'd do everything I could. However- he's young, has no serious behavioural issues etc. It's not the same situation as above. If I were in that position then no, I don't think I'd opt for the surgery.

I'd love to get involved in flyball. I'm not aware of flyball being active in Perth though. I'll keep tabs on this thread hopefully someone else can shed some light.

Thank you Sandra. I try and think of the good times for comfort but it hurts knowing that there won't be any more. That I won't see him light up when I walk in the room, there won't be any more games or talking things through with him. I miss him so badly.

Thank you Shek. I don't think there is such a thing as "long enough". I think when you have something so special in your life, you can't help but want more time than what you're given.

I'm sitting here absolutely heart-broken. My beautiful rat Otto was found in the deepest of sleeps Sunday night. He seems to have passed away from old age. We knew he didn't have long, but I don't think there's any such thing as being prepared for the death of a loved one. I have never felt as loved by any pet as I did by him. He was a furry ball of love and always brought a smile to my face. He worshiped the ground I walked on and I adored him. Losing him has left me physically aching. He is buried under our olive tree, and I can't help but worry if he's cold, or scared. It's stupid I know, but he should be with me- not out there.. My only comfort is that he is now reunited with his brother who left us earlier this year. They were inseperable and Otto was never the same after the passing of his brother.

I can't remember if I posted this here or not. (So sorry if I did! ) Art Nouveau inspired self portrait. Trying something a bit different than usual.

Hahaha yeah, thanks Freckles. Still had to read it twice Not feeling too bright tonight! -Elise P.S thanks for the compliment Harminee!

Dragon Commission. This was all digitally painted from scratch (no photo edits or anything like that). Took a stupid amount of time I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this in the thread yet (let me know if I have!)

That sounds really complicated Looks great though, might give it a try when my brain's switched on

lol me too, mwaaaah! ;) And all is well in the Photoshop forum again Harminee yeah that sounds like a lovely idea I'm working on something for another DOLer right now but I'll give you a holler when that's done! I'd forgotten about the crashes Not to mention how long an image takes to load when you have lots of layers. I've waited a good 10 mins at times for an image to load only for it to crash at the end of it I remember one commission I was working on was enormous 7000x7000px with almost 100 layers. That was an absolute killer, nearly took my sanity several times. Never worked that big again I still come crawling back to Photoshop though -Elise ETA: Woah went a little nuts with the emoticons.. Sorry!
-
One day they'll develop audible text in forums It would prevent a lot of arguments huh? I honestly wasn't attacking your work at all! I hate having heaps of layers I'm constantly getting them mixed up/deleting the wrong ones. Nothing to boast about I promise -Elise
-
Rysintira, You didn't want to post your rude pm here? You clearly misunderstood my post badly. Having lots of layers isn't a good thing Hence why I said "Ahh 7 sounds like a dream". I try to cut down on layers not increase them so I wasn't boasting, I was being envious. I also joked about how difficult it is with having lots of layers and me not being able to remember them, and how I wished I had as many as what you were working with. So before you go sending nasty pm's saying that I spend all day on my pc and don't think before I type etc. Maybe you should get your facts right ;) Very nasty. -Elise
-
lmao Ahh 7 sounds like a dream when I do my digital paintings I end up with 50+ layers. I know of one artists who uses approx 200 You certainly learn to be specific when you name the layers! -Elise
-
I really like this one, looks very sleek and the colours look fab I'll look for a good pic of squirmy Hermes for people to pretty up if they so wish. -Elise
-
Lol true, probably the nicest thing she said to me! All my drawings/digital paintings are scribble/doodles I draw a squiggle and take it from there. -Elise
-
Thanks Rexy and Harminee. I do love to scribble I remember during Maths in highschool, I'd 'decorated' my books and my teacher said to me "Oh so that's what you're talented at" -Elise
-
A bit more stylised.. -Elise
-
Umm don't know if these count.. It's 100% photoshop though? I use Photoshop CS3 and my much loved Wacom Intuos 3 tablet to do digital paintings: -Elise

Hermes loves cat crap we're constantly fishing it out of his mouth worst thing is it's always in our yard but not even from our cats because our cats are purely indoor cats. Pisses me off that people don't keep their cats on their own property :D We've taught him "leave it" which works nearly perfectly when we're out on walks (he loves to put everything in his mouth and just carry it around) but he can't resist cat crap in our yard -Elise
