No it isn't. It is one of these things which is an unknown on what can cause it. There are many different theories. And once they have it, it doesn't go away.

I don't think there is anyone in Hobart that does acupuncture. Well not that I am aware of anyway. Yeah through x-ray. Even saw a specialist (Sara Goldsmid) when she was in Hobart the other week and she offered an operation but it was $1500 with no guarantee that it would make any difference for him.

My little Labrador puppy who is only 6 months has developed Arthritis and has just started Cartrophen injections. After the first injection I really noticed a difference the next day and for a day or two after. Well he had his second injection on Tuesday and I thought that I would see an improvement the next day but I didn't and I haven't really seen a difference at all this week so now I am starting to think that the injections may not work. Though I was told that I probably wouldn't see an improvement till the third injection. The little guy is really sore and I am concerned about giving him a good quality of life. He has real trouble moving around and he has also been diagnosed with OCD. I have put him on Joint Guard as well but he has only been on this since the first injection so that has been just over a week now. I don't know what else to do and I just want to make him better. 6 months isn't very old to have arthritis, especially if he has a long life ahead of him. I have read a few other threads and it seems that Cartrophen doesn't always work.

Would you mind posting where you have found Joint Guard at a cheaper price? I'm currently using Osteocare biscuits for Coda, who is the fussiest eater on the planet. You can check them out here Being in a biscuit form it is quite convenient, but I'm not sure it has as many ingredients as Joint Guard. Try either http://www.vetstop.com.au/shop/shopdisplay...;cat=Joint+Care or http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/product.ph...=303&page=1 Second option cheaper. Kaos is quite happy with the powder.

So in the long run it is more likely to be eaten and it is a superior product at a cheaper price from my research.

Can I ask why Joint Guard? Why is it so much better?

My Labrador has arthritis and is going to be having injections to help with this but I was going to give him Sasha's blend as well but it seems like everyone is recommending Joint Guard on here so now I don't know which one to go. What do people recommend???

As has already been said the breeder will tell you what you need to know. And a good breeder will be more than willing to help. I have a 11 week old Labrador and a 10 month Labrador from the same breeder and I have spoken to her regularly in the time that I have had them and have found that 1 it is cheaper to get an answer from her than a vet and they really do have a wealth of knowledge.

Well Kaos has bloated again but this time I think I know why. It looks like he has gotten into the kitchen with my dads dog Storm and that Storm has dragged a large (missing 2 slices) pizza down of the bench and that they have had a merry time eating it. So I think Kaos has stuffed himself full of pizza. I wasn't happy when I found it. Someone else had been watching him for me and had been keeping a close eye on him and I came back to find the pizza box on the floor with 1 slice left.

Well it looks like it was worms that was causing little Kaos to bloat. I happened to worm him yesterday and apparently while I was at work last night he vomited. And my wife said that it looked like he been eating macoroni noodles. I had him booked into the vets today anyway and when I told them thats what they though it was. So hopefully that is what it is.

I do soak the food before I give it to him. I did this with the last one as well.

Maybe I need to do a controlled feed with him as well

1/2 to 3/4 of a cup. His stomach doesn't seem tight. He does eat super fast. While my other one wasn't so interested in food.

I have just got my second Labrador puppy (the first one is 10 months). I got him when he was 8 weeks old and I have noticed that after eating he seems to bloat a fair bit. Am I feeding him too much? The food doesn't seem to be an issue. My other Lab didn't bloat and is on the same food which is Royal Canin Maxi Junior. I just didn't have the trouble with my other pup.

Sure shes a REAL labby then? My previous labby may as well have been named Hoover. He spent our dinner times scouring the floor in the hope we dropped something. There is no real fixed growth rate. Different dogs will have growth spurts at different stages. Mine went through a kinda awkward stage at 4 months. His body was waaay too big for his head! It has since caught up, and he is a typical rotty fathead. At 11 months, I think he will only fill out now. Maybe yours is a late developer? She really is a nice size and yes she really is a purebred Labrador. Certain things she goes stupid for if I'm eating them. Can't eat a tub of yogut with out drawl.

Hi. I highly recommend crates for puppies. I have found it easier fr toilet training. I can't really recommend a brand. Just remember not to leave your puppy locked up for a long time.
-
Trust me when I say all puppies can be good when they want to be. My little girl is pretty good but does like to get into some things she knows are not allowed when she thinks she can get away with it.

Kaasha is a nice healthy size. I keep an eye on what she eats. But she isn't a real vacuum cleaner Labrador in the fact that some times she just looks at her food and says no thanks I'm not hungry.
-
She sometimes we forget how much they have grown. People come and see her and they can't believe how much she has grown.
-
I had a bit on arguement with the vet as I thought she was quite wrong. It wasn't my normal vet so I wasn't real impressed with her. But I had taken my pup their because the guy who did the desexing was meant to be excellent which appears to be correct as the result was excellent.

I was wondering how much of the % growth a puppy has done by the time they are around 6 months old? I have a Labrador puppy that is just over 6 months old and when I took her into be desexed one of the vets said that she was nearly fully grown but she is only just over 17inches and both of her parents were big and she does come from a quality breeder. Plus she would be one of the smallest Labradors around if that was true. So I am wondering around what % she would be now.
