I Am So Angry, But What Can I Do Without Alienating My Daughter?
mantis replied to mantis's topic in General Dog Discussion
Latest update, I just found out that my daughter got the dogs vaccinated as the BYB didn't get them their 6 week old vaccinations, when I informed her that she has to keep a watch over them because of that & keep the pups away from outside contact for a week she was shocked, as the "breeder" never mentioned that to her. Also, the male pup had a runny eye so she took him to the Vet, he said it must have got bitten by something & gave him anti-biotics, I am very concerned about the runny eye, doesn't sound good. I am going to try & get the contact details of the BYB who lives in Buchan & report him to the local council, because I am hoping he is breaking regulations & he will get shut down. -

I don't want to go into details, but she got married at 19 against my advice & that ended tragically, I thibk that because of that tragedy, she is willing to be controlled. My Daughter knows I love her & will always be there for her, when she has had a bad argument with him & his parents, she comes & spends the night with me, Jerk doesn't like that at all, I'm guessing he still wishes I was back in Perth, so she has no where to run. -

Same could be said for him forcing her to have two small dogs, instead of her compromise, of having one of each. He is a 35 year old man, to be scared of big dogs is ridiculuos, he is just using that as an excuse to get the dogs he wants. Not that it matters now, because he has got his way & my daughter has missed out again. Plus you people sticking up for him keep missing the point, where he bought dogs from a BYB, which my daughter was totally against, when looking for dogs. -

If my daughter posted, or read this site, do you think I would have posted this thread? This is just a place I can vent, because I can't say it to my daughter without alienating her. Edited to add, I got rid of my crap husband. -

Don't worry I do, because I don't want to lose her, but I did express my disappointment, that he bought dogs from a BYB. -

I hope so. I can't believe how she is letting this jerk control her, she has always been a strong willed girl. As for the dogs, unfortunately because she loves all animals, she has already fallen in love with them, so the jerk has won again. I can't believe he totally went against her ideals, (not talking about choice of breed), but the fact he knew she didn't want dogs from a pet shop or a BYB, but wanted to rescue dumped dogs, to me that shows he has absoultely no respect for my daughter. . His twin brother has a British Bulldog & a Carpet Python, who the jerk will not interact with, totally avoids them, my daughter chose the wrong twin. I can't believe twins can be so different. -

Unfortyunately they have just bought a house together, so that isn't going to be easy, she needed to dump him before that. She also wants a pet pig & pythom, that isn't going to happen, this guy doesn't even want to have kids. -

Unfortunately this controls her. Does anyone know the name of a good hitman, who works cheap? Edited to add, I have lived back in Melbourne for two & a half years & he has never come inside my house, I think he is scared of my beautiful big boy. -

Jed, please get well soon, I miss you so much. -
My daughter & her partner just bought a house on nearly 2 acres. My daughter was so happy she could finally get some dogs. She wanted a big dog, but her partner wanted a a Jack Russell, so they agreed to get one of each, (which I always suspected wasn't going to happen), because her partner is a control fresk & always wants to get gis own way. Anyway, my daughter wanted to adopt dogs from rescue, so two weeks ago she found a lovely Mastiff/Ridgeback cross puppy & put in an application. She had to give references, so her partner told her to put down his family & friends, but not use me as being her mum they would think I was biased. Straight away I knew he was going to sabotage that adoption. My daughter rang me toinght to say that her partner came home with a surprise, he has bought 2 Jack Russells from a backyard breeder for her birthday & they are picking them up on Sunday. I asked her if she was allowed to get a big dog & she said no, because they decided on only having 2 dogs. He got his own way again.

I have been thinking about how good it would be, if Jed got a visit from Chi Chi. Let's hope the hospital let it happen, after all, Chi Chi will be a therapy dog. -
She is so cute. Unfortunately their property isn't fenced yet, so they are a few weeks off being ready for a dog.

Same here, I thought I may have missed a thread on here.

Thanks for that, my daughter is looking for a pup, I told her that is going to be difficult, because peple don't get rid of their dogs until they mature.

Thankyou people for the contacts, I will pass them on to my daughter.

Come on Jed get well, we miss your posts so much. Lots of love heading your way, Kenny is very sad that you are so sick, because you have been a champion of tryimg to save his breed. -
She doesn't mind if it's a cross or not a pedigree, but she does want a young dog.

My daughter & her partner have just bought a house on nearly two acres & she wants a Ridgeback, but she wants a rescue one, as she hates seeing dogs in pounds etc, So does anyone know of any Ridgeback youngsters in Melbourne who need a home? She will be a good owner, as she has been brought up with dogs & loves them.

If your dog was sick, would you take it to Cesar Milan or a vet? Totally different scenarios. we are talking about behaviour not illness. No, it isn't. Yes it is, because all Vets treat animal injuries & sicknesses the same way, dog behavouralists have very differing methods on treatment. Bark Busters have pieces of paper & they are totally useless, I prefer someone who has lived with dogs & understands them, than some numbnut who does a three month course. :p
