You are now off my Xmas card list. Awwww, we all have different tastes, its what keeps the world going round. I bet you'd have a few things to say about my little yappy buggers too :D Until I met Maggie the Shitzu, I probably would, but now I have a new found love for SWF's.

Yes she is, I can't understand how people could not love brindles.

That is a stunning colour, I am in love <3 Me too.

I had coffee with a friend on friday the 28th & she mentioned about the attack at Ballarat. She was in Ballarat on Boxing Day to drop her kids off at her Ex's & evidently the Ex lives in the same street as the poor Foxy owner. She said that both dogs were wearing electronic collars & asked me what they were, as she had never heard of them. Seems that the collars didn't work on these two dogs & it makes me angry that someone with large dogs relied on them to keep the dogs contained, better fencing or runs would be the better option.

I'm in no way downplaying the attack or the poor child etc... But the picture that has been put with article is ridiculous. Welcome to the world of the Bull Breed owners. The number of times they show the same photo of that snarling Pitty, even though the dog has been labelled as a Bully Cross, when no one knows for sure what it was. ******* media bastards. Hope the little boy recovers with no scars either physically, or mentally & they catch the owner of the dog.

Did you post this in the wrong thread SL?

I love brindles, as in my avatar. My new girl is the same colour, when I had Cairns, my male was a silver brindle & the female was the same brindle as my avatar as well.

Damn, the first lot of fireworks started here & it seems Cougar doesn't like them. She jumped off the couch & is laying at my feet panting, I have to wait for the next lot to go off at midnight, glad I stayed home.

Agree, when I first moved back to VIC, Kenny had to spend 7 weeks in a kennel, until I found us a home. The people who ran it were fantastic & gave him plenty of exercise & love. Mind you, Kenny wouldn't talk to me for two days, because he was upset I left him so long, but he got over it.

WTF, I have never heard of foxes in St Kilda, where the hell did it come from? Sorry, but I just can't believe this story.
-
Obviously not. I'm another for do what suits your dog. I tried everything with Kenny & the only thing that worked, was him sitting next to me with his head tucked underneath my armpit. I'm just hoping my little Cougar isn't afraid of fireworks, I'll find out tonight.

In the header it says 'pure breed dog community'. It doesn't say animal lovers forum. Do you love all animals? Rats? Mice? Snakes? Cats?[ Are you especially fond of crocodiles? I don't know about StaffyDave, but I do. I assumed dog lovers would be more caring about all animals, maybe I'm just a freak. I've owned all the bolded animals, I would love a pet crocodile, they are brilliant animals.

What airport is that? I thought Virgin flew from all Aussie airports.
-
Exactly, I've been told many times that my sweet Kenny had me trained. If he wanted a treat, he would grab anything he could & proceed to pretend to "kill" it & wouldn't drop it, until he saw a treat. Also, when I was on the computer & he wanted attention, he would just keep head butting my arm, until I stopped & gave him pats & cuddles.
-
Great post. When I flew Kenny from WA to VIC I used Virgin, because I knew Qantas wouldn't let him fly with them.

When your Mum gets back from leaving you alone all day & the doggy bag she brings back home, has roast veggies in with the yummy chicken, ham & pork with gravy.

We do this too, and always have a large credit card ready in the case of something major. Definitely the best idea. In my 40 odd tears of dog ownership, I have rarely had to shell out for large Vet bills, maybe I'm just lucky. I figure I am way out in front financially, than if I had Pet insurance. Saying that, I don't have any type of insurance, I think they are al scammers.

Burying your flavoured ice block with treats in it, only to discover that the ice block has gone when you dig it up later.

I agree with this. She knew not to let the cat in your yard and obviously didn't care enough to try. If it meant the possibility of my dog being in trouble, I wouldn't even tell her. Kenny unfortunately killed two cats in our backyard, the first I didn't know, the second was from next door. I spoke to my neighbour before she met her demise, because she used to sit on the fence & tease Kenny, saying I was worried what would happen if Kenny got hold of her. His reaction was, OH well, it will serve her right, don't worry about it. I spoke to the ranger after the first cat & he said that the dog wasn't to blame, because the cat was in the dogs yard.

I haven't seen the movie, just the trailers. But he was a very handsome, intelligent dog, seven is way too young. RIP Koko.

There it is, if anyone thinks they will actually follow through, I hate to tell you, Santa Claus isn't real.
-
Unfortunately no, because there is no money to be gained from it & that is their number one priority.

Buy her the pants called Depend, which are for elderly people.

An air-dried bone is not much different to a bone left out in the yard that dries out naturally in the sun/wind- and these are perfectly safe. The only difference between a dried bone and a fresh bone is the water content, same as with most dehydrated foods. Drying something does not cook it. Sorry I disagree. Bones that are left out in the sun actually are liked cooked bones, they are too brittle & dangerous. I only feed either chicken frames, wings or lamb flaps. I have a great butcher, today I got half a kg of wings & 6 chicken frames for $3.25, Cougar is a very happy girl.
