We are laughing because it sounds funny that a cat can send 2 police officers (& I picture 2 very strong manly men) being sent to hospital after an attack by a cat (I picture a not so happy domestic cat that is a little hissy). I've had quite a few cats try and attack me at work (I'm a vet nurse) and I agree an angry cat is something you don't want to deal with and I do feel for the officers in charge. But like I said if this was a dog attack they would have a picture of some big dog bearing its teeth with saliva running out of its mouth, but this being a cat story there was no picture of a snarling cat was there. If it has attacked a person then it should be PTS the same as they put dogs to sleep if they attack people. I have to keep my dogs in a secure yard and not let them roam the streets, I have to pay registration for them yearly and I am restricted as to how many dogs I am allowed. How come cat owners can let their cats roam free, many do not pay registration and their are no restrictions on how many cats one can have. Why should cats be treated differently to dogs? Exactly, a dog bites two Policemen, sentenced to death, a cat does the same, it's a big joke. Double standards much?

Even if he tried, all the other neighbours are on my side. To show how petty he is, I have put a bowl of water for the birds because they are thirsty, the last two days, he has emptied the bowl & thrown it into the bushes, the guy is a sociopath.
-
The other dog owners here are really nice, if they see me out walking they put their dogs on lead so my girl gets to know them, but this one moron refuses to & is angry with me, because he got fined by the council for not having his dog registered.
-
The idiot neighbour in my block of units, who has a dog he refuses to put on lead informed me today that he has contacted a lawyer & is suing me for harassment, because I have contacted the ranger twice, about his refusal to put his dog on lead. WTF? Today when I walked my girl, he instantly let his dog out & when I asked him to call her back, or put her on lead, that is when he told me about suing me. Apart from the fact I have no money, how is reporting him for breaking the law harassment?
-
Unfortunately it's in the communal area, other neighbours are also upset about it, but this moron just does what he pleases. Where is a good hit man when you need one.

Qantas made it a BSL issue. Exactly, I suspect maybe some who are sticking up for them, may work for them. There is NO reason that any dog can't be flown, if it is in a strong crate & locked.

Gawd I'm furious. the moron who won't keep his dog on lead, has obviously been contacted by the council again & is pissed off. The last few days, I have been putting out a dish of water for the local birds, as they are walking around with their beaks open, obviously thirsty. He has gone out & emptied the bowl & thrown it into the garden, this guy is a sociopath, I am getting so angry.

Or they think it's amusing, that their little dog attacks bigger dogs.

Love it persephone.

Double post

Lucky Virgin aren't so closed minded, they are going to get more business, while Qantas loses it.

Because they are selfish morons.

Yes, I love doggies, always ask first naturally. A lot of times I don't have a choice, dogs seem to gravitate towards me, if I'm sitting outside having a coffee & dog is being walked, it comes straight over to me. Even Xmas day, I was at a lunch & this beautiful boxer spent the whole time with me, ignoring his owner. Maybe they realise I'm an easy touch & spoil dogs.

Yes I have that problem with a little dog in my block of units. He refuses to leash her, she charges every dog she sees, I can't believe she hasn't been attacked. I can't walk my Staffy, except very late at night, as I don't know what she will do if this little bugger rushes & has a go at her, I don't want his dog being hurt. I have just reported him for the second time, he put her on a lead after the first report, but that only lasted two weeks, now it's constantly off leash again. I'm getting to the stage where I'm just going to walk my dog & if his dog gets hurt, he's to blame. While I will be upset if that happens, I am sick of my dog being kept a prisoner because of this moron.

When I had my unit in WA, I got my Kenny, after all I'm paying the mortgage & the expensive monthly strata fees. The Body Corp said I had to get rid of him, as there was a no pets clause in the strata. When I asked how come 3 people had cats, they said, OH, they had the cats before we changed the rules, so they are allowed to keep them. I naturally refused to get rid of Kenny, then I was served a writ, saying they were taking me to court & were going to sue me for as much as they could. Needless to say I moved out & sold my unit, bloody ridiculous, you can't have a pet on your own property.

When you are trying to eat your chicken carcass & there are about 6 or 7 Magpies sitting on the fence, just waiting to swoop in & steal it off you. Luckily I just ignore them & leave no scraps, suffer Magpies.
-
They toughed it out & got it in a crate, hence their injuries. But what gets me is the difference in reporting when it was a cat. If it was a dog the headlines would read, "two Police savaged by vicious dog & had to get hospital treatment".
-
WTFBBQ?! You always get these idiotic replies by non dog people, after an incident like this.
-
I am a bit confused by your posts. Are you saying because there is the possibility that the cat is aggressive due to previous mistreatment it is allowed to attack people who are walking by and trying to ignore it? That it should not be reported as it "isn't" (possibly) it's fault? I would be ringing the council ASAP Exactly. Whether or not the cat is vicious because of previous abuse, it shouldn't be allowed out so it can hurt people, sheesh, if it was a dog, people on here would either call the owners irresponsible, or saying it should be PTS.
-
Yep, I feel sorry for them, you can just imagine the jokes about being beaten up by a pussy. I hope the cat is re-homed, unless it's feral of course, will take awhile to to domesticate it.

http://www.mailtimes.com.au/story/1213411/what-a-cat-astrophe-scratched-cops-arrest-feline/?cs=12 Can you imagine if it was a dog, the police would have shot it. I wonder what will happen to the cat, will it be re-homed, or will it be PTS because it's vicious.? You also have to wonder how a cat got on the bridge to start with, I'm guessing it's either a feral cat from the neighbouring industrial area, or someone dumped it.
-
On a related issue, two cops were bitten & scratched by a cat they were trying to rescue from the Westgate Bridge in Melbourne, both cops needed hospital treatment. Must have been one uber feral cat. Don't know how the cat got on the bridge, I suspect it was dumped, nor do I know what happened to the cat, is going to be on the news tonight.

My first dog was a Schipperke X Foxy, it was a present for my ninth birthday, she was all black, so I think she was more Schipperke. She was smart as anything, I trained her to climb ladders, play soccer & the normal sit, stay, drop etc. She was very loving & I never once heard her growl, or try to bite any of my friends, even though some were rough with her. I think they'd be perfect for a family with kids, they have energy to burn.

Duke is so handsome.
