amazing how many people buy these oodle breeds, just because they are "low allergy"...most dont realise that if a dog is "low allergy" it usually means it doesnt shed its coat, which means you really need to trim them and groom them...the fur doesnt miraclulously disappear by itself. is it really that hard to groom your own dog especially since it creates a bond between both parties involved? Grrrr

Heat Or Season Or Period Or Whateva Its Called...is It Here?!

good to hear, it would definately be a good idea to talk to a couple of the breeders and JRT owners on here and find out more about your pups and what problems they might come up with. -
Heat Or Season Or Period Or Whateva Its Called...is It Here?!
arby replied to m575's topic in Puppy Chat
it doesnt change things whether she has been in heat or not before she gets spayed. It only matters if she is in heat when you want her desexed. Best option to get her spayed at 6 months!!! The sooner the better. -
its such a gorgeous puppy! glad to see her safe, hope the mother is safe too. Theres a million and one things wrong with this whole situation. The pups shouldnt have been born in the first place...not yet not to a mother that young. Its a miracle they all survived

-
Do they have alot of "meat" on their ribs??? or can you stil see the nice shape and outline of it all?
-
just want to find out bit more about it. Humphrey has had some basic training doing a bit more obedience with him now, soon we'll be starting some agility to actually get him burning of that crazy boxer energy

speaking of eggs...we have an avary with japanese quails in it. Dad was cleaning it out today and we had 5 fresh laid quail eggs. In the 8 meters walking back to the house my Lab X wouldnt let me past him unless he got to eat one of the eggs!!! He was drooling at the site of them. So i obliged made him sit, gave him one tiny little egg...he was so proud of himself for gettin the little treat!

soon when she's had all her shots and you start taking her for walks she'll love both the collar and the lead Humphrey hated both now he cant live without them...he's learnt that lead=walks so now as soon as he sees it he's a little angel. After we give him a bath and he dries off a bit he will actually sit all proud when we put his collar on

dogs are more reactive to panadol then humans, it gives them stomach upsets and ulcers so shouldnt be fed to them asprin is ok but you can actually get pain killer medications (same family of meds as asprin, the non anti-infamitory ones) that are actually dosed for dogs not humans from your vet

eggs = high protein, calcium...stuff for a very shmick shiny coat

does your dog by any chance just gulp down all the chicken bones??? thats usually the case when my dogs used to throw up. We have a great little pet shop in villawood, they sell marrow bones, kangaroo meat, and best of all this raw chicken roll (basically a whole chicken put through a mincer so easily digested)
-
he's probably waiting for you to do the jumps with him :D
-
we have always given our dog h/w meds. At our last vet visit he suggested we just give him a once a year shot for heartworm save us the hassle of remembering when to give it to him. Although heartworm cases have decreased would you really want to take that one in a thousand chance that your dog could get it?

How To Stop Your Dog Digging Holes - Is This For Real?
arby replied to olly's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
grrrrr....you gotta be kidding me. Stopping dogs digging holes is like stopping politicians from telling lies. Its a natural behaviour for both. -
YAY great news hun! give him huge cuddles from me and my doggies

instead of saline solution make a strong cuppa tea let it cool for a bit and use that to wipe his eyes, it will relieve it. Tea has some anti bacterial property in it that helps with eye problems. Probably a good idea to wash both eyes. Remember to wash your hands after it and not let anyone else touch the eye without doing the same. Conjunctivtis is highly infectious.

definately a raw feeder here...with some dry kibble to snack on every now and again in the evening time
