I agree with K9 has anyone ever actually read on any of the training post that we think the prong collar is some miracle tool that trains our dogs??? I think all prong users agree its not a solution but an aid. Frankly if the prong was so cruel my dog wouldnt be all happy and cheery when he's on it. Hell he even sit and stare at it until we take him for a walk. Yes on his prong. It seems to me he only associates positive stuff with it, that really must make me cruel. Since we started using it our boxer doesnt foam at the mouth or have breathing problems like he used to on walks when we used a flat collar or a choke chain

See for someone who has only ever made 2 posts on this whole forum basically gives you no credentials on here. No one knows you. Could your comment be any more generalised??? training mulitple dogs in multiple sports doesnt really scream out credentials to me. Just a question how many dolphins have you trained?

Geez didnt you know JJ, its to choke and torture the dog into submission!! Oh of course how could all of us pro torture people have not seen that... TDS do you really think its smart to come onto a purebreed dog forum, insult all show dog exhibitors insult other dog owners and dog trainers??? The fact that you have been "lurking" also makes me wonder "....troll..." did somebody say something???

I'd wait til the morning see how it goes. It might be that he just isnt thirsty. I know that sometimes even drinking can irritate the stomach and intestine. If he still isnt drinking tomorrow then off to the vet and get a drip. How is he behaviour wise??? Is he cheery etc despite being exhausted of course?

Humphrey was at puppy school at the vets too. Even a year later he still loves going to the vet. Never forgot the place. Diesel has happy memories of the vet and chances are he will always have happy memories of it

I actually found that our boxer stopped wheezing and foaming at the mouth since we started using the prong collar on him. If fitted correctly and used correctly there should be no problems. Check chains and flat chains to me are more dangerous. We had our boy pull so hard on these taht it would cause him to throw up and wheeze for ages after the walk. edit: In all the times I spent in poland and all the time my grandparents have bred dogs I have never heard of this sort of thing arising from the use of prongs. Over there every single pet shop and even supermarket sells these, if they were really so dangerous they'd have been banned by now. So far its been at least 30 years of experience in my family with these thats proven to me that they arent dangerous. Scary looking yes but not dangerous

Put an analog clock under her blanky...it imitates the heart beat she'd feel with her sibilings/mother.

You really should read all the posts on here then you might actually answer that yourself. Don 't you worry! I read them all and get the feeling that everyone is "under the influence" of marketing forces. What a sad lot you all are! I feel even sadder for the dogs you deal with. I grew up in a country where a vast majority of people use prongs on their dogs. They are more readily available then check chains. If you really must be so childish about this forum then theres a simple solution. STOP READING the posts.

Diesel would be very exhausted right now so dont read too much into it hun. Chances are that his stomach has shrunk and the intestines would still be irritated after the surgery. It will take a long time to get back to normal, theres no quick fix. Just stay patient, it seems like he is on the road to recovery now.

We've always been told around 6-8 months. What breed is it? Alot of people agree that larger breeds should be older when desexed.

Dont worry too much about the damage, the digestive system heals pretty well after gastro. He will look skinny because of the 5 days of no food but mainly because of the dehydration. He would look unhappy because he's one hungry MS that cant eat and misses his mummy The vomitting is more then likely a mix of post surgery and gastro irritation. Just be patient, this takes time.

I'm so in love with Diesel...I love my salt n pepper minis. VERY CUTE such great news, yes it will be a slow process but he should recover very well.

The fact that the dog didnt really react to the pinch test isnt a good sign. Chances are the nerves are damaged, even if its only partial.
