  1. Well if anyones interested, i am buying some weight harnesses and cart pullin harness online. I dont mind sharing at all to get something going. One will be staffy sized and the other around pittbull, husky size... I'm gathering up info as we speak, if anyone can read up some or send away for info, would be great too. I think there should be enough interest in nsw to get something going? Dogs are happiest when they feel neded and have a job to do... I have my pittyX booked in for k9 force in july to get his dog agression issues addressed (post a dog attack as puppy), so i am totally understanding for those of you who have dogs with some issues who are interested. It can all be done in a responsible manner...
  2. Hi guys, Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm in NSW unfortunetely! Thanks for passing on those links :p... On the american sites, I have seen border collies and many other breeds I would have thought not strong enough to pull a cart but the carts are counter balanced so the weight is off the dog. I have seen 2 border collies pull a one seater human cart.It looks so much fun. I have started my dogs off helping gathering tomber for the fire. They are really enjoying it.I have a staffy and a pittbull X.I'll keep u posted on my progress, maybe i can get some interest going in NSW.
  3. Hi, I have been doing some research in this area. I'm very interested in getting my dogs into it. I've seen some equipment on ebay and may purchase it soon. Is there anyone selling canine carts in australia at all? I mean I can modify a cart myself, following books guidlines but would prefer to buy one. Do the husky club do weight pullin at all? Can any breed that is capable of pulling go? Anyone else interested in getting something started? I think dogs are more happier doing work especially working breeds. Most of the sites ive visited are in the states or europe.
  4. Since our youngest dog got attacked, he has agression towards other dogs ( he is only 9 motnhs old) and was 6 mnths when attack happened. He spent a while in the vets and was in a very bad way but still managed to wag his tail when he seen us come to visit. It was really awful. When the time came that we could actually walk him, he would jump up on his hinds, bark agressively, do everything he could really when when another dog approached. It was strange because we socialize with our neighbours dogs and he is fine with them. I tried to distract him with clickers and toys and food, and explained to neighbours that he is in training because of his incident. I sometimes had close shaves with redirected agression but kept going. I've been trying for 2 months every day, twice a day to help him build confidence around other dogs. But I finally decided was time for expert, so we booked in with k9force. I seen k9force at a recent bsl awarness rally in sydney. I had my staffy with me but left our trouble maker which we've renaimed 'damien' at home, as didn't think it would do the rally any favours. Ive added a pic of him below,we got him xrenbury... He is extremely affectionate and gentle with kids and people. Never displays any form of agression with our 4yr old staffy.I hope we can help him out!
  5. my lil' pup has started humping behaviour, I was advised each time he deos it to either (clang a few pots together or use a spray bottle) , there is a chance puppy behaviour such as this can be seen as accaptable and will remain through adult hood. I have been putting it in place for just 2 days and already a drastic improvement. I guess it's woth a try if you're concerned.
