  1. What a sweetie Is she a Birman? Wow, she's filling out quick Oh poor boy Hope you get something to work with from the blood result Well we managed to fail beginners obedience the other night Poor Louis was fed up and cold after waiting around for a while and refused to drop completely on the damp grass It's a shame as I really wanted to try him at beginners agility next term and not sure I can do that without a pass in the obedience Of course as soon as we got home he dropped perfectly in the comfort of his warm dry home Your new kitty certainly is a pretty little thing Rach!!! I miss not having a cat sometimes! ST - Wow she is starting to fill out!!! Still looking as happy as ever having her picture taken Ptolomy, hope your poor kid is ok CC, poor Louis.....I know how you feel! Wandy did the same thing in one of her first obedience tests....It was drizzling and she just looked up at me and refused to drop...Was quite amusing looking back, but not at the time
  2. Yep, I must admit - Im a bit of a grammar/spelling nazi I hate the term "I seen so-and-so today" ...............no you n didnt!!!! You "saw". You may "have seen" though!!! Oh and another term, "off of" as in get off of me................NO!!!!!!!!!! I almost fell like slapping people who say this (and one of them is my bestie ) Mind you, I still have the hardest time with two words!!! Know & now! Its not til Ive written them do I see if its wrong or not Well, thats my little rant over
  3. Assuming he was in the show ring he is a red/tan... chocolate/tan is not acceptable in the standard. I haven't seen him since the Classic so it will be interesting to see how he has grown at the show in a fortnight Yes I cant wait to see him again soon Mirawee The little ones I saw today - working lines - were chunky little monkeys! Also watched a 5month old in the yard with the sheep....confident little man, lots of voice too!!! There was also a little female tri border who I got to hold and snuggle while her mum was on microphone duties....Think our two were a bit jealous when we got home....they wouldve smelled them and the greys
  4. Thanks for putting that up Rosie ....Im not sure how to do all that Apparently in England, a few racehorses were electrocuted in the display ring (or whatever its called!) before a race, and two had to be pts...saw footage of this - not nice!!! A couple collapsing on camera
  5. Very sad news about Hercules the Police Horse at the Kalamunda today.....What a sad, sad thing to happen... R.I.P. Big Beautiful Boy Glad you had a great day RubyStar I got to play with sheep dogs and cuddle kelpie pups today Couldve brought home a little B&T Kelpie boy, but resisted!
  6. Not bring the BRD - shes not ready to face the big bad world just yet!!! Her/my anti-anxiety training is progressing rather slowly, poor girl! Hmmm, may come up Friday night - will decide closer to the time! Oh you are ST - its called Humiliation Usually happens around Christmas and Easter, oh and birthdays!!! Well...........The BRD just surprised the hell out of me!! We have bee outside fiddling around with the pushbikes and the dogs were outside with us...OH took off to take his for a test ride around the block and the dogs trotted off too - BRD in the opposite direction though! Her trotting became quicker & quicker, so I called out her name a few times - then started to yell out "Stay" (part of her training program with Garth Jennens is teaching/learning commands at a distance..........LOL) and bugger me, she stayed!!!! She stopped inside the fence and waited there for me quite calmly! I made such a fuss of her, so I hope she remembers that next time :D
  7. That's because you make monster sized cakes Very yummy, though!! That and everyone pretending to be on bloody diets!!!!
  8. Cute!!!! How old???? Ill ask you again next week -

  10. Anyone showing on the 30th of this month????? Im heading up for the RR show and thought I might catch up with some of you I havent yet had the pleasure of meeting Dont think there will be cake - sick of taking 3/4 of it home Maybe mint timtams instead :D
  11. Hi Sabby - sorry to hear you lost your beloved mastiff so young!!! I dont really know what other breeds to suggest, do you have anything in mind at all?? How about a rescue dog of mixed heritage (or purebred)??? It must be a hard decision with all those other ones to consider! Good luck with your search and I think we need to see pictures of you Wolfie X
  12. Watched this story on the GWN news this arvo What a lucky kid!!! 12 days down a mineshaft with no food or water!!! How lucky that the drilling team were close by and heard his barking And he is such a cutie pie too ;)
  13. Thankyou soooooo much!!! Wow - I could only watch about 2 minutes, I was laughing/crying so much I couldnt breathe!!! My ridgy thought there was something wrong with me ;) The one on the right was very RR looking!!! nice dog will have to google them after i recover!
  14. Im about halfway through a 20 kg bag.......might divvy it up and freeze it bit by bit!!! Ive had weevils in other things before but not dog food!!! and ive been buying the same brand for a few years too!! probably weather related id say! Im sure the dogs wont mind the added protein, but geez the little buggers make a mess!!!
  15. I store out dog kibble in a plastic screw top container, have done for a number of years. Today I discovered that weevils have moved in!! I have found grubs and beetles in the container, as well as the frass they leave behind They have also moved into my container of almonds, bloody critters!!! Ive never had a weevil problem before and am wondering if its been the looooong, hhhhoooooottttt summer weve had! What do others use to store kibble?? I thought my screw top lid would keep the buggers out, but obviously not!
  16. http://www.ankc.org.au/Rules.aspx Thanks RS
  17. Poor curtains!!! Zola (RR) hates to go out on the wet/damp ground to wee!!!! Pathetic!! Just glad she hasnt decided to start toileting inside yet ;) Silly dog, I literally have to drag her off the verandah or out from under the patio for her to go!! Yet shes quite happy to roll in wet dirt and magpie crap whilst out playing in the paddock......
  18. So.............where on the Dogswest website will I find any useful info about Endurance Trialling??? Like rules etc......I have done a search to no avail. The only info they have is one paragraph explaining that they run a few trials each year ;) Most helpful.....not! Goodluck in Sydney Ptolomy & BDazzled...have lots of fun over there!!! Well done Mirawee RV, hope Toby is ok.
  19. We use this one as well!!! Really happy with it
  20. We feed Natural Balance which is Lamb based and made in WA...Our ridgy is allergic to most meats, but does really well on this one! have a look here...lists ingredients, etc. Hope you find something for you dogster ;) edited to add.....lamb isnt fish sorry.....
  21. Not sure about the White Shepherds, but you could meet Wei's at some dog shows and their owners!! You could see a variety of ages and both sexes!! Im not sure where in Aus you are, but there are usually Dog shows on every weekend in capital cities and perhaps bigger country towns & cities. Check out your states dog association to find out where and when they are on. Good luck with finding the pup you want!
  22. Not sure how far we go as its always along bush track, fire breaks but we are usually our for between 30 min and an hour, depending on weather and how Im feeling. Usually everyday atm, when Im working though its not everyday.... Of course the Kelpie always does twice as far as she is mostly off lead. Zola (RR) stays on lead as she cant be trusted in the bush full of roos and does most of her walk at the heel (Cesar style). I let her meander a bit if we go through the bush so she can have a relax and sniff about - till she gets us tangled round a tree or shrub ;) . I walk pretty quick, cant see the point of going for a walk and not going at a decent speed! They could probably handle alot more exercise, but they dont seem to get bored outa their minds or destructive, and sleep the rest of their day away anyway!! When the bike is fixed I want to start taking the ridgy with me - that will be a challenge and a half!! ;) Edited to ad they also do lots of playing in the paddocks with their footy, lots of running, chasing and circus performing...LOL!!! And they come with us when we are working around our 5 acres too!
  23. Great photo CC!!! I would love a pet pig! Dont think the dogs would appreciate one though! Zola has been wanting her pj's in the mornings since the rain and cool weather arrived When she jumps up on the bed in the mornings she is actually shivering - poor thing
  24. We only have the two dogs and two sheep.....least animals weve ever had :D I still miss the cats and the horses......But I look forward to getting my two Llamas (whenever that happens - when we have feed would be good ) I too cant wait to hear/see what Emery's secret is!!! Dont keep us waiting toooooooo long Well weve had a bit of rain down here, no thunder thank goodness! I hope we get some more over the next week or so
  25. Do you have any strange or new noises in the nieghbourhood???? Sirens or music or something weird like that??? I had an electronic timer go off in the house the other day and our ridgeback started howling at it!!!! Weird thing is shes never done it before
