Yep! Don't be silly! We are a friendly bunch, probably talk a bit too much though! After trianing last night I was talking to RosieFT and Mirawee and Ozjen for ages, then RosieFT and I said we were going then I think we ended up gasbagging for another half an hour next to the cars RE puppy schools - Kyzer went to puppy school. And look at hime I think puppy schools can be good but I will never ever again go to one that is just a free for all with puppies getting smacked down all over the place, especially with smaller puppies. Most fo us are abit shy to start with Labrat, but our mutual love of dogs makes it easier to mix and then you can't shut us up. :D Thanks Ozjen You there Friday night??? Or Saturday..... As I don't have a life outside of the dogs, I'll probabaly be there all four nights. ;) I would be too if I didnt have to work Ozjen I had to swap shifts so I could hang around Saturday night :p

No fair! Everyone with puppies I am hoping when it is time for me to get a new pup that someone else on here is getting one too, or has some nice adult ones that don't mind a puppy hanging off them we can socialise with, as I would prefer that to a puppy preschool with strange dogs. Youre not alone RS, Im not getting a pup any time soon...well dont plan on it anyway!!! OH is always looking for a Kelpie pup when hes out and about with his work Besides, my almost 5yo ridgeback girl is still very much a pup

Awwwww, you guys are all so sweet!!!! I will put my shyness on hold for the WC and try and search you all out ok! Sounds like agility is a very entertaining sport!!! Want to try my hand at that this year! I will have to get some tips for books and dvds to get me started...Bunbury is the closest club, but i dont see myself getting there too ofter Mason - will find you and say hi. I have been trying to find the name and author of that darn book to no avail!! It was one I borrowed from my breeder, even emailed her but havent heard back yet! I might ring her tonight and annoy her ETA My puppy preschool classes were good! Zola and a GSD pup were the biggest there, Zola was the most annoying!!! We all kept our pups on leads and only a few at a time were allowed to interact - big and small included! Def wouldnt want t free for all!!!

Thanks Rubystar, I will definitely make the effort ....I know all the people Ive met so far from DOL have been wonderful! And I would like to add to the list! And know I have quite a few of you as FB friends, I know real names, which isnt quite as embarrassing when making introductions! But now I have to try and remember DOL and real names and get it right..........At least I know everyones dog breed and their names Oh and I saw all Millies results in the K9 news too!! there were quite a few names I recognised!

amypie and I highly recommend visiting Marapana Wildlife World Just pack a face washer. Ill have own spitting machines soon!!! Have two Llamas on order. When we went visiting, the boys spat at each other, but not at us humans!!! I learned that what they spit is the contents of their first stomach - which is why is smells so loverly Think Ill stick with the reptiles this time, although I would like to visit Marapana one day!!

Oops!!! Probably long gone by now Emery!!! Although I hope lady luck is on your side and some one from here finds it for you!!! Welcome to DOL Jodie Elijah! Looking forward to seeing puppy photos when Spike/Boris arrives I hope you gt your power back ASAP mirawee - so you and your tribe can be clean & shiny for the shows LOL!! One of the advantages when I was showing Zola was that she rarely needed a bath - and a quick wipe over of her was enough! The Kelpie on the other hand is a hairy little bugger! I could sweep every day and still not get all the hair! Good thing I dont have to wash her regularly for any particular reason! I am thinking of heading to the Armadale Reptile Park on Saturday, and then going out for lunch...Thought I might as well take advantage of being a tourist while I have time I will be baking cake tomorrow, as were heading to Perth Friday morning......So I will endeavour to make cake delivery rounds Friday night....The closer it gets though and the more I think about it, the more nervous I am feeling - I hate introducing myself to new people (you would think being 42, I wouldve gotton over that kinda sh*t, but ahh, no!!).....I will apologise now if I sook out and dont introduce myself to any of you But I WILL try!!!!!
-
No we havent, but I do remember standing behind you and your sister at a show many moons ago - and wondering to myself if one of you were you, if you know what I mean Are OES in the first or second half of your group (they are in group what?? I would assume working, but who knows???)...just so I know when NOT to bother you...... ;)

What Did You Feed Your Dogs
Lab_Rat replied to ShesaLikeableBiBear's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
While I was growing up on the farm, in the late 70's and 80's out dogs got working dry dog food and table scraps....which included anything and everything we wouldnt feed today!!! They also got offcuts from sheep we home killed. When I moved out and had my owndogs (late 80's through the 90's) they still got dry food but alot more meat and veges Thinking back to the scraps we gave our dogs makes me cringe slightly........there wouldve been cooked bones, onion and all sorts of stuff!! They also had access to fresh fruit out of our orchard and walnuts - which they all seemed to graze on! Especially the walnuts! My old girl would know which walnuts were good and which ones not! -
I am soooo happy with my boofheaded big red sooky la-la!!! Tonight my darling Zola ate not only half a chicken frame, but also "chunks" of lamb meat as well as a lamb rib bone ;) She mustve been listening the other day, when the vet said her teeth were looking pretty average from no bone munching!!! Last time I tried her with bones (turkey wing pieces) she flat out refused! And usually anything but mince is ignored or chewed and discarded!! Of course then OH commented that she will prob'ly have the sh!ts tomorrow...... Hope not, poor kid! Anyhooo.............havent been on for a while, so good to see people achieving good stuff!! I am so looking forward to the Western Classic!! I hope to catch a glimpse of some agility on the Saturday night after Ive checked out the Kelpies being shown .....Hopefully I may get to meet some more DOLers too!!
-
Got my K9 news the other day, and was wondering if anyone is going, or has been to, the BARF seminar on the Saturday of the Western Classic??? Im thinking of going along, but dont want to waste my time if its not worth it I bought myself a present today, the most beautiful coffee-table book called Dogs Gods by Tim Flach.....Have only had a quick browse so far, but oh my, what delicious piccies of dogs When I opened it up, on the inside cover from one end to the other is a photo of a ridge - covering two whole pages....Its just gorgeous oh, edited to add, NO COMMENT on the yummy treats
-
My immediate thought was Akita with something else, though I dont know what that something else is............Gorgeous looking youngun'

Lovely idea Lab Rat, why not drop Pacers a line to check that they are fine with it, I'm sure they will be. They have started an appeal tonight to collect for the victims of the fire, but so much is happening lately one wonders just how much people will still have to give, although being Aussies I am sure everyone will give till it hurts. I know some of the kennel properties where quick to offer space in their kennels and catteries and the offer of various crates. With an apparently 25km radius risk of embers fire, I was glad that they got it under control although my family told me I was stressing too much, it was too close for comfort. There are just too many Australians in pain at the moment, it breaks my heart, everytime I put on the TV. Will do Ozjen.... I know what you mean about watching the tv, I tried not to watch any news last night!!
-
Oh Mason, please dont feel guilty. Please be glad your Mum has your dogs and is doing the right thing for them......that and the fact the vet will visit to let them go the Rainbow Bridge.............Such a hard time, so big, big hugs for you....
-
Regarding the fires in Perth - would it be ok to put up a link for MDBA Pacers on facebook does anyone think??? Ive been trying to think how I could help, and being 3 hours south of Perth feel totally useless.....Have been thinking about all those poor animals all day, and their distressed owners!!! Anyone collecting for them?? Money or stuff?? Think I may visit BP&G in Bunbury tomorrow and see if they are collecting donations My heart goes out to all those affected and their families
