  8. No it is not legal. I offer a $250 refund upon proof of desexing ie. photocopy of the vet desexing certificate. I can either pay the owners or the vet direct. 100% success rate to date. I feel if you make the refund a decent amount you have more chance of them following though, however if I did not think they would desex they would not get a pup to start with. ETA My contract says they must be de-sexed between 9-12 months of age. I am in close contact with my puppy buyers, I see each pup several times a year and we have a yearly family reunion. I would soon find out if there was an un-desexed pup.
  9. I wouldn't imagine so. Apart from the scarring on the site of incision? And of course the risk of undergoing anesthesia. Why would you consider both? Initial to prevent breeding and secondary to adress behavior? Tubal ligation doesn't prevent a bitch from having seasons. I wonder if the council will accept tubal ligation as desexed in terms of registering for a discounted fee?
  10. http://www.cryogenes.com.au fantastic service. Just call them up and they will give you a rough quote over the phone.
  11. yes - I can see your point to be honest I think it's time Specialty Shows had to draw certain numbers in order to retain their Ch show. I agree, our recent champ show in NSW had an entry of 29, 25 were shown and of those 25 - 6 were babies. That is an entry of 19 for a Champ Show, the same breed gets 50+ here in Vic at a Champ Show.
  12. Maybe an accidental mating that they were hoping didn't actually happen, but now the bitch is large enough it can't be hidden any more?
  13. A little OT, but along the same lines of not being prepared - I often get people who order 2-3 days before there bitch is due to whelp! And they say can I have it by tomorrow, um no you are in the middle of no where and even express post won't get it to you in under 2 days.
  14. Begs the question, is the puppy you sold them the sire of the litter??
  15. In Vic, 95% of the time you have to pay a stall fee and can not sell things from your marquee. I would take it up with the club holding the show and the CCCQ.
  16. There has been a few threads on vasectomies and tubals - I wold rather that then early de-sexing.
  17. I had a bitch do the same, a shot of Oxy fixed her up. She expelled a lot of left over muck and was as good as gold.
  18. Put two panels back to back and just sit the spiral on the top and twist it down, Once in place bend the ends over so it can not move up or down.
