  1. The best way to achieve this would be make a motion/ Special Resolution to an AGM/SGM of members (Special Resolution as the VCA Management Committee have to abide by this decision whereas an ordinary resolution they only have to take it under advisement.) If you want this to go national then word the motion/SR so that the VCA must take it to the next ANKC meeting with the endorsement that it has been passed by Members of the VCA. If you place it on the agenda for the VCA Management Committee they make the decision; ie they have the final say, which may not be what you would like. Unfortunately you only get 1 AGM per year and if there is no SGM the resolution/s may have to wait one year to have it voted upon. Thank you for the information, This is something that needs to be done.
  2. yes you can get a relaxin test done.

  7. Yes i used a company that advertises they test for colours in my breed, and they test for the two colours i wanted to test for.
  8. I have emailed them, im yet to hear back.
  9. Why is it that anyone can obtain an ANKC prefix without showing any form of ID? In the last few months there has been a few suspended members popping up again with a new prefix, only to be caught and do it again. If I have found them on DOL breeders page, i have reported them to Troy, and he has looked into it and taken care of it. They are getting a new prefix as puppies on main register are easier to sell, and sell for more. I think you need to show Drivers licence, supply residential address, and a mailing address if you use one. Does anyone know how I can push for this to be done? ETA have now added a poll
  10. Im sure many bitches have built in mothering skills, what they don't have you must teach them. It's your job, you made the choice to get them pregnant, you teach them. If that means holding their hand, you do it. If that means, showing her 30 times how to toilet puppies, you do it. It may not be ideal, but you as the breeder have a responsibility to the bitch to follow through.
  11. Both parents are DNA tested, it was done when they were trying to get the markers for our breed when they started up. I used a different company for this colour testing. Samples were tested in the US. Im not keen on the DNA testing now,
  12. I had Shimmer and Stix DNA colour tested. Shimmy for Fawn as her mum Sway carries for black, blue and fawn. And Stix for blue as he is half sister to Shimmer - same mum Stix - carries for blue. Shimmer - may or may not carry for fawn I could have told you that by reading her pedigree, and it would not have cost me a cent!!! What is the point of DNA testing is you can't get a 100% Reliable results?
  13. No idea on BIS Runner Up Best In Show was a Great Dane under breed specialist Tony Syme Ch Azienda Quinns Dynasty (AI) (Julie Morrison)
  14. I don't take deposits. I have two people who would like a puppy from my next litter, i haven't even found a sire yet That litter is a tleast 12-18months off. I think 5yrs is a bit keen, i would wait until 2 years then make contact with some breeders. BUT in the meantime, go to shows, research, learn and listen.

  19. wow did not see that coming, how sad for the dog. Hope you get the dog back soon and it's no worse for wear for it's time away. I would rethink this person now.
  20. The one at site of desexing sounds like the muscles have not healed and organs have fallen through. Sounds all very weird, hope the dog will be ok.
