Micro-chipping Prior To Dogs Victoria Registration Be Compulsory Acros
SwaY replied to SwaY's topic in Breeders Community
thats the one but the lab says from 4 weeks old when weaned (or in my case starting solids and able to be separated from mum for a few hours) Are you sending them to be tested by University of Missouri/OFA or AHT? It's such a new test Sept 2009, brilliant work on those who lead the research team. -
Oztrail Deluxe here. I have seen many (Altegra / Oztrail and other brands) go flying, often it's because it has not been pegged and tied down properly. I use heavy duty long pegs and hammer them in on an angle, Not straight up and down. I also use the guy ropes.

You can also swab for DNA from birth, to speed up the process. -

As you don't need your results to be certified (no Reg name, no Microchip), why not just put Yellow/Green/Red Collar pup down on the form? -

Why can't you still do that, then send in your registration forms? Many people send puppies home without papers as they are still pending. I must say i find it weird that people register pups under 6-8 weeks of age, glad they know what should be on Main Reg so early. -
Thanks, here is what it says. Is removing dew claws on a 2 day old puppy really surgical?

I was in there the other day, they still had Registration forms with only 24 spaces on it. It's been 30 for 2+ years now. -

They do now, or they will? I've never put the microchip number on my pups rego form (I do have them microchipped though) - just their tattoo number They have wanted the sticker attached to the form for nearly 12 months now. Prior to that you could write it and it would be accepted. (Mind you the form is not really big enough for the stickers, you have to over lap them) I also think microchip papers need three contact details Owner, 2nd contact and breeder. -
Steve do you have a link to the relevent legislation on this?

Vic require a sticker with the microchip number to be stuck on the registration form, and not a hand written number. Microchips come with 3 stickers from memory. -
People who have finished in the ring, and as the next breed is called they decide to stop in the entrance and 'debrief' the results. People who set up in walk ways, as they got to the show late. People who can't park!!!!! And people who don't smile.

we should of microchipped her ages ago i know but we didnt think of clearance for disaese for new puppie owners. Whilst you say didn't know about health checks prior to the mating, surely your mentor did? I find this very hard to accept.
-
And you didn't think to do any of that before you mated her?

Have you thought of adding your scores to the Database? http://www.greatdanes.net.au/scores.htm

Graphs are were all done by the ANKC, and posted on there site.

2009 Breeders and Litters In 2009 it was estimated that the dog population in Australia was 3.41 million (TNS & BIS Shrapnel). It is estimated that 10% need to be replaced annually which indicates a demand for 341,000 puppies per year. In 2009 ANKC Breeders registered 66,588 puppies, so to provide the estimated number required approx. 274,412 were bred by people outside our organisation who have no accountability for health or welfare.

Do they have a 'rent a crowd' because be in there own breed don't like them.
-
People who stuff around when there are runs offs, week after week. You have been showing for 10+ years surely you know the process by now. People who enter far to many dogs and don't have enough handlers. A steward you can't hear. No map of the ring layouts for country shows, either at the venue or in our envelope.

Group 7 being on last 99% of the time, over consecutive days. Rotate the groups around people!
