This mentions Bitches and not Dogs. From the 2010 ANKC Summary - SUMMARY OF THE ANKC CONFERENCE HELD IN SYDNEY ON 15TH TO 17TH OCTOBER, 2010 So if you breed is not listed, (I think every State has different breeding ages for various breeds) the minimum age is 12 months for Bitches. This mentions Bitches and not Dogs. I'm guessing dogs have no age then?

I read it that any (father/daughter, mother/son, brother/sister) will not be registered on Main - Why can't they just say will only be registered on Limited? With that said you can still do the matings, just registered on limited. - Many BYB's won't care.

Below is a deletion.

You can download the summary here http://www.ankc.org.au/Conference-Summary-2009.aspx It says..

From the 2010 ANKC Conference paper. 1.16 ANKC Regulations Part 6, Section 8, Clause 8.3 - Registration of Progeny of Close Matings It was resolved that ANKC Member Bodies will not register the progeny of first degree matings (father/daughter, mother/son, brother/sister) on the Main Register. The only exceptions to this would be where application was made to the Controlling Body prior to the mating on the basis of health or genetic reasons to the benefit of the breed. 1.17 ANKC Regulations Part 6, Section 8, Clause 8.4 - Close Matings It was resolved that the ANKC introduce the following regulations pertaining to Close Matings from 1 July 2011. “I shall not mate my bitch or dog to a close relative ie mother / son, father / daughter or brother / sister and I am fully aware that puppies as a result of these matings will not be registered without first gaining pre-approval from the Member Body for the mating for scientifically proven welfare or veterinary reasons.”

Anywhere from 24 hours if they paid express, and up to 4-8 weeks depending on how many others have to be done first.

I ordered some of those last week to stock, I like the look of them.

Puppy Collars - for bigger puppies you might like to use little clip on collars. I Imagine they would be to chunky for pups under 6 weeks.

Thanks everyone. I know it isn't 100% accurate but it should give me an idea of numbers... Don't count on it I know of some told expect 6, they got 9. Others expect 4, they got 7. Ultrasound - confirms pregnancy but is not accurate enough for numbers. Xrays are best taken at 8 weeks to determine numbers - with that said, they to can also be wrong!

Nope, we can't buy it here. ETA - Over the counter at a chemist etc. -
28-32 days. Ultrasounds are good and confirming pregnancy and not always getting the numbers right. Some times puppies hide, other times the machine is not a good enough quality or the user is not as good as some others.

I tend to agree really.... there must be some reason the pup was born dead. I think that statement is far to broad. Pup could have got stuck, labour could have taken to long, contractions could have stopped, human whelper could have made an error etc -
A swimmer puppy pillowcase/sling. Turn the pillow case inside out. The part that you fold over to hold the pillow in, goes over the back of the chair to hang it. (A bit like a children's chair bag like they have at school)

I found this online and thought it was good.

Impressive!! The whelping box has a sleeping section, a playrun and a seperate sleeping area for the mum to get a rest from the pups while staying near by. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Puppy-whelping-box-...=item4154f7d755

Micro-chipping Prior To Dogs Victoria Registration Be Compulsory Acros
SwaY replied to SwaY's topic in Breeders Community
That is true but unless you have a really large litter there is enough room to use every second line. I had a litter of 8 last year, I managed to fit the stickers on line after line. I overlapped them on the sticker above. I do think they need to re-do the form thou. -
Base The Cost Of A Dog On Colour, Why?
SwaY replied to Kristin Dwyer's topic in General Dog Discussion
Harli/Mantle breeders charge the most, $2000-$3000 on average. Fawn/Brindle/Blacks/Blues $1500-$2000 is the average. Many not so ethical breeders seem to charge more then the well respected, long term ethical ones. -

The prices on Harls and Mantles is already high if you ask me. $2000+ Very few Harls/mantles are refused/excused from the ring based on markings alone. I can think of one in the last 4 years, that was based on markings alone - As stated by the judge. Many currently being shown world wide do not have the 'perfect' markings yet are still show quality. I think it's wrong to charge more, BUT if i wanted a perfectly marked one I would offer more to make sure I got it. Yeah for sure... I totally agree the price of them is crazy high. Mismark was the wrong choice of word - I know they're not excused from the ring, but was just referring to what you said, how many don't have the perfect marks, so was wondering whether you got one or two that DID have perfect markings and everything else was great, would that be ok? But you pretty much answered that anyway saying you'd pay more. I'd pay/offer more to own a perfectly marked one, but i would not charge more (if i bred one) as they cost the same to whelp and rear. 2 different things Buyer offering more vs breeder charging more. -
