  5. Whilst that is true, there is new techniques now that were not available back then hence the whole "wow" factor.
  6. Libendane Litter of 10 using 21year old frozen semen. A GEELONG vet clinic has used dog sperm frozen for more than 20 years to produce 10 great dane puppies. Bellarine Veterinary Practice Dr David Hopkins said Ballarat client Deidre McRae had frozen and stored sperm from one of her prized great danes, Liebendane Armstrong, in 1989. Twenty-one years later, long after that dog's death, his sperm has been used to spawn these new pups. The puppies, now eight weeks old, are all happy and healthy. Dr Hopkins said while breeding dogs using frozen sperm was not new technology, it was remarkable that semen frozen for so long could produce such a large, healthy litter. Ms McRae yesterday said she was "over the moon" with the results. "I was hoping for one or even two, but to have 10 is just unbelievable," she said. Dr Hopkins said the technology was most commonly used to breed professional sniffer dogs for Australian Customs. Ms McRae said she would keep some of the pups as show dogs, and would sell others. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/...x-1226001959430 http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/articl...41241_news.html
  7. It is called Suprelorin, there is plenty of threads on it.. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=Suprelorin http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=Suprelorin http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=Suprelorin http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=Suprelorin http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;hl=Suprelorin
  8. Sorry a Little OT, The standard says The preferred height for males is 51-58.5 cm (20-23 ins) and females 45.5-53.5 cm (18-21 ins). Quality is not to be sacrificed in favour of size. Do they vary more then that in height?
  9. I text myself if there is no pen and paper on hand.
  10. This is the method I was taught and use on my dogs.
  11. Mystify ? They say you can not use common names, yet plenty of them have been approved in the last few months. This site has over 16,500 prefixes listed, it's not a complete database but will give you some idea on what is out there. http://www.PrefixSearch.com.au
  12. The correct spelling is Harlequin. Have you tried the DOL profile pages, or gone to shows to ask around?
  13. I have never seen Vet sites that have listings of Great Dane frozen semen for sale. I would rather go straight to the source, that way you can find out abut health, temperament etc. Most people just advertise there dog at stud via there websites etc. This site has some studs listed, you still have to go to the owner of them HHERE What colour are you after?
  14. How do you know they started dying before the 30th did you do an autopsy? I would have with a litter loss like that. My take on it.. The other puppies that died were breaking down hence not formed right, they were liquefying - Dark black discharge. Just imagine something dead being cooked in 38degrees for 3-4days, it does not stay an identifiable object for long. I'm no expert but I suspect if they had of been taken out on time they would have been fine. I would be speaking to Dr Girling and not your normal vet, that is his field of expertise.
  15. I was at Petstock today in Cranbourne, they had 2 boxes of Biolac Blue reduced to $140 exp Aug 2011.
  16. Missen's poodle got the group. Dally was RUBIG.
  17. I like this One Heaps of cat tunnels on ebay.
  18. Thanks for the information Nancy, always great to have an experienced persons views.
  19. If she was due on the 3rd he (regular vet) would be thinking they are 60 days, in fact they were 64 days, Over cooked! Sorry to sound harsh but you should have stuck with your repo vet, I don't like the sound of your normal vet. I have heard good things about Dr Girling, I would have been calling him and not the normal vet. Did Dr Girling not give you a due date? The days were not calculated right, pups were over cooked and they break down by the minute! Within 24 hours a dead pups skin starts to peel away and they get all slimey and jelly like, to me this what you are describing. How were they not formed, what did they look like? I'm no expect but Pups have been born naturally and by cesar on day 59 and survived many, many times over. You may have to supplement, but they will be fine.
  20. What day was her prog level was around 15? Where you calling the vet who did the AI in the middle of the night or a regular vet? I'm not liking the sound of who ever it is you were calling. Sorry for all the questions, im also trying to learn from what has happened here. How is Mina?
