In a word "genetics". It's not common but it can happen. Its not common, but yet we see thousands in pounds and PTS for behavioural issues. Yes, unwanted behaviours that for the most part could have been resolved by training, exercise and company. That's most, but not all. And if we did those thing we would see far fewer dogs in pounds.

Explain to me, how are dogs just born wrong, I would love to know.

Very mature..."Big Deal" :D I get out alot thank you very much, and have been involved with rescue and rehab for years. I've seen what bad ownership causes, and I have seen what the lack of training can do.

Loved enough to be Killed you mean? Is killing a dog who cannot make you a few $$$$s anymore doing the right thing? Is killing a dog because a new baby is in the house or it digs holes or it barks or any other reason doing the right thing? People kill dogs for many reasons none are worse than the other and often pts is the only realistic option. There are worse things than dead for some dogs. If there is a dog that is barking all the time and digging holes, it means one thing, you have not given it time and training. This is not the dog's fault but your own. Really? Great to see you have all the answers and can do a behavioural assessment over the net. So what your saying is the dog was born like that, with behavioural issues? They can be :D sure. I have owned and fostered over 40 dogs, alot of puppies included, none of the puppies came to me with these issues, alot of dogs did.

ETA: Dogs are not commodities you dispose of once you tire of them or they dont suit your lifestyle anymore. OR in this case, dont make you $s anymore.

As for the comments about "we are all not like that" here are some stats for you: Vic bred 8664 grey pups last year, 400 were rehomed by GAP, where are the others? give or take a few each year?

Are you people serious? Good on her for staying with the dog? This was a healthy, young dog, which was PTS because it could not serve her purpose…ie make her money. How many others has she put down? I can almost guarantee you its not the first. These dogs are bred in hundreds and to do one thing…RACE, for our entertainment. Not just the Australian public, but they are also shipped off to Macau etc, where they have absolutely NO protection…not that they have any here…obviously. There is no such thing as a “good trainer” in my books, you breed, race and then dispose of your dogs. And worse…you say you have no guilt…despicable.

Thanks Gayle, because we've had him only a short while, we're still trying to figure out what sets him off, right now it seems it's ALL strangers and dogs. I also wonder if we might have given him a bit too much attention? We have never allowed him to sleep on our bed, we have thaught him to sit for a treat or pat and have even toilet trained him. But it just seems when it comes to other ppl he is completely off. ETA it's not just when she is on a lead, it's also when ppl come to the door.
