  1. well, like I said, I'll be going back in two days, I guess this will give me some time to see if it stops, and if not, ask for antibiotics.. what should I be asking for? And how long would it be for? ie, 10 days? 2 weeks? I hope it's not too long.. and I pray that it wont be costly but I'll do anything for my dog... the other thing, she is still very active.. ie, just before she was humping my other dog :\ I thought that was supposed to stop..
  2. well, I called the vet and they said that she should be ok, and to just keep an eye on her..
  3. I recently got my JRT spayed (2 weeks ago on wed) and the other day, she lactated :\ and then today, some white discharge came out of her 'genital' area, and it also smelt incredibley bad.. what can I do? I am leaving the country for a while and she will be staying in a kennel.. so that makes things worse.. ;) she is going back to the vet on wed to get the stiches out..
  4. yer, I've heard that before.. the first time the started fighting and guess what, they stopped for months on end.. I have a feeling it is the whole heat thing.. but until dessexxing, I need a way for ONE person to seperate them.... it's really really sad.. we were crying Don't know what the neighbours would have thought either.. outside at 9:30 yelling at my dogs like crazy.. "GET THE HELL OFF HER!" "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!" "YOU Q!@$!#" lol..
  5. Ok, basically, yes, we DO have 2 x JRT sisters.. anyway, I just witnessed something horrific.. they started fighting (one just got out of heat, one is getting into it..) they grabbed eachother and wouldn't let go... throwing eachother in the air and crashing into everything, knocking things over.. buckets of water and a broom couldn't seperate them.. no slapping no anything.. we ended up grabbing them by the legs / tails / collars to seperate them.. at close inspection there was bleeping near the eye, edge of the mouth, under mouth and on legs... oh, and ears.. it was really really depressing, and the last thing I need at the moment... What does everyone reccomend I do? They will be seperated for the night.... but that can't be on going.. this has happened once before mroe recently but there was only one person home.. in that instance, how do people reccomend we seperate them? I mean, they WERE NOT letting go.. we eventually kicked them out and left them for a few minutes, came back, adn the pots where knocked over but they where still at eachother..
  6. well, thought I'd update....yeah, if you're not planning on breeding, I don't see the point of going through all the trouble of not desexing. So yeah, she seems fine now :S no blood or anything, maybe it was just two fights in a row, although that doesnt explain the smell :S but yeah...
  7. hummm...seems to be fine now ? maybe it was just an attack? :S but yeha...nice and normal now and i am NOT GOING TO SPAY IN SEASON! just to say that again I KNOW NOT TO SPAY IN SEASON! never was gonna, never will! i have checked it out and will book it for some time in december..and it's about $300 for the 2...so yeah....
  8. yeah...we wana do it b4 christmas... so yeah...woot...
  9. yeah, i think theres sumtin wrong with the timer..lol...I didnt want to spay them now...just was wandering if it makes any difference to wen they are being spayed weather or not they have had a heat cyle...lol...i reallly have no idea what im talking about
  10. they're asleep now so i can't check, but they wake up in bout 20min...yeah, i wanted to spay them just b4 6months...how often do they get it?
  11. er..ill go check in a sec...how long does it last? how often? will this make spaying harder? will she bring her sister into season? will there be lotsa blood? :'(
  12. hey, just wandering about the chances of a jack russell terrier getting heat or whateva its called (ive read tooo many things!) at 4 months..? yesterday she had a fight with her sister and there was a bit of blood on her at the end of it and today the same thing happend but we are wandering if maybe her sister just smeared the blood off her fagoa or ever it come from onto her...she also smells in that general area... :S she went to the vet 2 days ago (both) and got there final injections and i dunno? would the vet have noticed it comming? thanks!
  13. lol...yeah...stupid commonwealth games, stuffed all the holidays up in Victoria. I was confused coz usualy the how starts on the thursday before holidays and it started yesterday, but were in the holidays so i was like z?A lol..not that i am going...doggy ok?
  14. lol...quiete alright. lol...this is why we are getting them chipped asap and also getting a new fence around the property...soon...ish....
  15. wow, so many replies.... ok, we will work the DL into the soil so that they cant find it that easily and it think we'll stop using it in the backyard anyway because this was just leftovers from the roses. Sorry that i didnt make myself clear but there is NO way i would leave my dogs knowing that they would be with another dog that i dont know. They were seperated by a fence, and this is why i dont know what happend. Beats me :s but they are absolutley fine now although they were shaking for a bit after it happend...what ever happend. Also, these pups seem to have made themselves at home and know who feeds them. They usualy wont try to make a run for it when the front door opens and before we took them for a walk and gave them both some time off leash...i was ready to catch them because luckily i can still run faster than them, but they just followed us around...thanks for the help! and also, i also dont think DL is a very good part of there diet...lol...i dont liek the idea of it and thats why i asked about it but will deffinetly get rid of it.

  18. Ok, firstly is dynamic lifter safe for dogs? As in, will it affect them in anyway? Because my pups sometimes eat it out of the garden. We will try and get rid of it but yeah... and when will they learn bark properly? Because the dogs were outside, and they went around to the side were there is another dog there, 10 times bigger than both of them put together. I have no idea what happend but one dog came SCREAMING (NOT BARKING!) around the house and to my door so i went outside to investigate nad i couldnt find my other dog. I then put fudge back on the ground and she lead me to caramel which was the lost pup who was just sitting there on 3 paws :s....then the neighbour came outside to see what had just happend as he thoaught that it was a child making all the noise! i honestly thaught that it was a cat runnign away from my dogs....lol...but yeah, he said that his dog wouldnt bite another and it is one of the friendlyiest and stupidist dogs ive ever seen. Im sure it was just a startle but when will they learn to bark properly? lol. just so i can distinguish between cat, child and dog. Also, is it true that older dogs dont tend to pick on puppies or anything because, well just like we adults wouldnt go and picka fight with a baby? is this true or a bunch of horse shit? and these dogs have met other dogs before...sorry for the long post they are 2 JRT's....9 weeks me thinks...

    Pups Fighting :'(

lol...Yeah, so far I have checked one vet and they said $165 for desexing but I heard that that is a but high and there are better prices (although i want it done properly!)..there is NO way I am not desexing them, especialy because I'm pretty sure that there is a make JR further down the court :| lol...and the blood...*barf* anyhoo, my mum said that caramel (my one) has already picked up the sit command and yeah. Im not trying to stop them from playing but im just trying to control it a bit, if that makes sense? so it doesnt get TOO out of hand.

    Pups Fighting :'(

lol....nah... I just believe that if I trained them from a young age, not in terms of "Sit" "Stay" but trained them to behave and control their fighting, then maybe they'll get along better when they are older. I know that they will still have fights here and there but they will be more controled than if I just let them constantly fight and mis-behave while the are young. See were I'm comming from?

thankyou they are pretty bad photos as most of them were taken with my left hand! lol We are setting up a lifestyle around the dogs slowly. Planning when we have to go for walks and what not. We are prepared to grow up with them and yeah puppy school all the way! We are in Hoppers Crossing. A more well know region area thingy is Werribee or western suburbs

    Pups Fighting :'(

lol...NO not a puppy farm. A moo farm. The two parents are free to run around anywhere on the farm and have a pretty big (10m +?) run during the night and the pups, I'm pretty sure, were kept inside and taken out into an enclosure during the day. I'm not sure about the paper thingy :s all's I know is that she didn't have them put could have. Maybe it was for the adults? No idea! but she assured me that they were pure bred. The reason they actually got rid of these pups wasnt because they didnt want them or anythign like that but there was a medical reason and they couldnt take care of them properly after and operation.

    Pups Fighting :'(

Sorry for the long post.... Ok. Sorry about my spelling and grammer, I'm a very slack person when it comes to it! I think a few assumptions are being made here. I am actually going to take them to a puppy school and the pups are number 1 priority. I have spent all my money on them and nothing else for me. I am living off no credit and not buying some things I need and GIVEING UP my formal to be with them and to provide for them. The main reason it will be a few weeks before puppy school is that they still havent had there 2nd vaccinations. We have been looking into a few puppy schools and trainers and were told of one called "Command" or something which is -apparently- really good. My personal life does not get in the way of giving these pups the attention they need ( I don't think I worded that post properly) maybe something along the lines of "I am not looking into puppy schools in great detail YET because I have A LOT on my mind right now and they are too young anyway. We have not had dogs before although we did grow up with one. I don't know what type of dog it was, but it LOVED and protected children and even stood up for them. We are planning on training them properly and might get a trainer to help. These pups actually came from a farm (SHHHH!) but we did get to see the mum, dad and other pups and they were in very good condition and looked after. The lady who we got them from was lovely and they got a vet check before being sold. They could have also provided pedigree papers or something (to prove that they are pure bred?) but didnt because of the (cost?) I know that bitches can grow up to fight and yada but I'm sure they can equally grow up to play nice if trained correctly. I spend a lot of time with these pups and adore them, aswell as my mum and sister. We get up between 5:30 and 6:30 for them! (EVEN ON WEEEKENDS!) and play with them for hours each day. The holidays are right around the corner so they will get even MORE time with us! YAY....sorry for the extra long post and thanks for the advice!
