  3. Hi, can anyone recommend a set of Poodle clippers for use at home? My friend has a elderly mini and as he's getting older (he's 15) he's getting a bit narky with groomers, He bit the groomer yesterday Friends OH can do anything with him so thought he might try keeping him clipped himself. A store in the Canberra area or online would be OK too. thanks
  4. Ah - GSDs, you can't just stop at one Seriously though, I would wait a little longer too. At 7 months your dog still has a lot of growing and learning to do. You would be amazed how much a well trained older dog (say around 2 or so) can teach a younger one. Our older one always lets us know when the younger is up to no good
  5. early morning walks, when I'm working it's 6.30am, when I'm not working it's around 8.30 followed by 1/2 hour in the clam shell to cool off - them not me then they're inside for the rest of the day in front of the air-con.
  6. Working lines? Looking good I hope they are on a main regista as I would like my kids to experience the miricle of berth. Why would that matter: True - geez I'm dumb....

  8. I walk Gracie with a Sporn harness. Jack is walked on a check chain and lead.
  9. Do they shed? I would really like a miniature non-shedding german shepard if you can manage that. Oh and a brindle would be good - I'm sort of over the black and tan theme. Of course I expect them to pure bread - no pressure. thanks
  10. Immediately with the basics when you get the puppy home until old enough (and vacc'd) for puppy school, then onto big school Don't forget the socialisation 'training' as well as obedience. I've had mine at GSD clubs, and general dog clubs. There is very little difference between the two but the GSD club was much more targetted to the breed and also included puppy agility, and, as they got older and more advanced it also covered noise - guns etc. If I get another GSD (in a moment of madness ) I would personally choose the GSD club over the general.
  11. Not that I'm an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd say some sight hound too. And is that a ridge on her back? She's gorgeous though.

  20. Oh my goodness how awful for all of you. I know your pain. Some years past I ran over my old cat in the driveway, she was 18, blind and deaf - she didn't hear or see the car and I didn't see her. I was totally devastated but accidents happen. I hope you son is OK. RIP little puppy
  21. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful old boy. GSDs are very special, somehow they manage to get right into your heart and stay there. You are wonderful for taking him in and giving him such love and happiness in his twilight years. Is that your daughter in the photos? They look to have a very special relationship. Rest in Peace Ray
