Thanks, Myszka !!! I did contact one of the club close to me, by e-mail, but haven't heard back from them. Maybe I should go to Peakhurst and have a look at your club. What do you mean by 'get vetted' ? A vet will examine the dog there ? Or just a person looking through the vacc record ?

I read some of what you guys said and some questions just pop in my mind. QUOTE(Jed @ 8th Mar 2007 - 11:33 PM) IMHO, no dog should ever have above a C4. ---> Why ? Most dogs is vacccinated with C5 nowadays, especially the one from the pounds. QUOTE(sandgrubber@ 9th Mar 2007 - 10.48 AM) Of course, if you use the 3 yr stuff and you don't have vet documents that indicate the vaccination is good for three years, boarding kennels will not accept it ---> Is there new type of vaccin that covers 3 years ? I thought the vaccin is the same type of the vaccin before the 3 years gap introduce, it's just the dog doesn't get it every year now. QUOTE(cavNrott@ 9th Mar 2007 - 2.19 AM) My dogs are now on a 3yr booster regime and as persuasive as the vets can be about giving a C5, mine will get a C3 in the future. ---> Are there reasons why you chose c3 ? Any reply would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What is the youngest age for a dog to start agility type training ? Does the dog has to have C5 vacc or C3 is accepted ? Can you just come and try the dog for a day before joining the club ? I don't do a lot of searching, so this might be entirely my ' incompetence' in searching the website. I tried to find the obedience class for all suburbs in dogsnsw website, but can't find the info. Can someone tell me which one to choose, I tried the obedience one, it only shows puppy school and dog dancing class.

Crating a pup or a dog is not a bad thing, especially if you put the crate in a position where the dog can see you. I used to put the crate in my bedroom ( usually with a pup or dog that is not fully toilet trained yet ). As long as their human is around, crate will not bother your dog.

I had to burried my pup after it got attacked in an off leash park. Definitely not recommended for a small breed pup. A mistake I will never make again.

Agree with putting the dog in the laundry. But other suggestion would be to give him a distraction, try giving him kong with vegemite inside, hopefully he'll be to busy to notice the neighbours light. The vision barrier sounds good too. Good luck.

My Puppy Keeps Biting Me, I Think It Is Getting Worse.
Dogsrules replied to miss shel's topic in Puppy Chat
I was told to hold the dog's mouth together firmly with your hand and growl meanly, then let go and ignore for a few second. If he did it again, repeat it. If he stops, then praise him. I never try it as mine doesn't bite, but I was told it has good result, might give it a go if nothing else fails. Good luck -
My dogs got C3 as advised by my vet. He said as long as the dogs doesn't go to boarding kennels and I don't take in dogs from pounds, then it is unlikely they will get kennel cough so C3 is sufficient. It cost less as well.

I used C5 for the adult dogs that I have and so far encounter no problem. But as I am not planning to put them in boarding kennels, my Vet advise me to do C3 vaccinations from now on as the chances of them contracting kennel cough is very small. Good on my wallet as well

I am no expert, but I saw one of the 'It's me or the dog' show on TV and there is one that shows how to stop a dog barking. When the dog barks, just look away, like you are not paying any attention, but when she stops barking, then look at her, say'silent' do the signal and give her a treat. If you are persistent, then soon the dogs will realise they get attention when they are not barking. Hope this helps.

I was advised by my vet to ad chopped carrot & peas to their diet for vitamin. To get a good dry poo, give raw bones / raw lambchops / raw chicken ( with bone, like chicken necks ), good for cleaning up their teeth as well. My parents used to have a Pom x and his diet mainly is rice & chicken liver, twice daily with occasionally chicken or beef and fruit for dessert ( his fav is watermelon ). He lived to 13 + years, never have a sick day in his life, healthy as a horse. So...not exactly sure which one to follow exactly, one source said 'no', the other said ' yes', but some stuffs you really can't feed to a dog, such as onion family. The others, just check with your vet for advice. Hope the diarrohea will get better soon !!!

I was told by a vet that for a dog that is less then 2,5 years old, there is no need to do heartworm test as the chance of them having one is 0 %. Advise is to start with the heartworm prevention, such as sentinel/heartguard straight away. Is this true ?

I know how you feel about the toilet training. Mine did the same, he won't do it on the newspaper inside and won't do it outside at all, but once he is back inside, within a few seconds, he'll wee on the rug  . Well...I just kept on doing it ( taking him outside every few hours and said 'no' when he did inside ), now he is doing it outside  , so I guess just be patient and persistent, your pup will do it, just a matter of time. Sorry can't say much about diarrhoeria as mine never have that. Although I don't feed them canned food, just not a big fan of canned things, dunno what they put in it. I usually do puppy dry food and mix of carbs( rice/potato/sweet potato),protein( sometimes cook, sometimes raw ),vegies(carrot & peas) & fruit(apple is always a hit), 3 times a day for an 11 weeks old pup. If I was cooking some chicken, I will cut off a bit of meaty bone for them to nibble on. Fish would be good as well, but not as often, maybe once or twice a month, it will makes the coat shines as well. Offal is good as well, some gave it raw, but I always half cooked them. Dairy like yogurt also is a good snack option. For very hot summer days, I'll cube the fruits & freeze them, it makes a good healthy snack to cool them down, although you could have a bit of sticky floor to clean up afterward. I find that if pups has different types of food, they grow up to be less of a fusy eater. They still have their preferences, but they don't not have stomach problems as much as they get used to eat everything. So far, mine does not show any health problem, even the oldest, at 8 yo, never been sick not even for 1 day and still can jump down from the dining table to the floor with no problem. It's a bit more flexible and you can play around with anything that you have in the kitchen, good for the budget as well. Anyway, it's just a suggestion that works really well for mine. Hope Rascall will get over his diarrhoeria quickly and good luck on the toilet training !!!

I used to have a dog who was more interesting to watch when he was in a deep sleep. He would make a woo-woo sound, then his feets started to run, then a bit of puffing, like he was playing chase and sometimes he moved so suddenly and fell down from the bed ( we had to put fluffy pilows around the bed all the time, so he won't hurt himself, soft landing ), then he'll jumped back and continue his sleep. So I'm guessing it's a normal thing to have dreams
