  1. Afghans are not high maintenance if you're willing to put in the work. Xanthes (smischs bitch who I used to co own) has a very thick coat and does take a lot of work but my boy had a patterned coat and took next to no time to wash/dry. And the reward of owning one outweighs any drama while grooming :)
  2. Oldfields are good. We have an oldfield barrel dryer plus the liberty stand dryer, i have found that the oldfield (even though it is a barrel dryer) has WAY more power and "oompf" behind it but lacks heat (which is a necessity for us) whereas the Liberty has heat but not as much power. If they combined the two it would be heaven!! eta: the mother in law has the Oldfield stand dryer and that is fantastic!!
  3. wow! Thanks for that!! I'm not in any studio, infact, I dont have any "qualifications" either other than my own ability to take a photo. He wasnt posed like that, he didnt even know i was taking the photo :D It was just taken near my back window, sitting on the stairs, focusing on some lolly or something :D I have another on where he is looking at the camera if you would like to see that?
  4. Thanks :D I've been playing around with contrast and things, this is a good thread. I like learning different things.

  7. I recently been dipping my toes in the photography pond and I decided to take some photos of my younger brother and sister for my mum for christmas. Nothing special, just some black and white photos taken in the natural light which I got printed and set up in a frame. When my mum saw the photo below, she just cried and cried saying that the photo just "said something" and that it was a "raw, emotive photo that says more than words" I dont actually think that it is very good, the ISO could have been played around with, the window frame could have been removed (top right hand corner) and some other settings as well but when she said that I thought that I might ask some experts what they think? Its not photoshopped at all.. Does it "say something", is it "raw" and "emotive"? Or is it what I think it is, just a simple black and white portrait that could be improved on??
  8. Thanks  I'll give it a go

  17. if you save an image as a .pdf file first and then save it as a jpeg under a different name, you should be able to open up the .pdf file and make changes... saving it like that doesnt flatten the layers
  18. here is another wallpaper i did. no offence to anyone cause your work is all so very good but im tired of seeing signatures so i thought i'd do something different. I must admit, i make better ones with pictures of people but no one seems to post anything other than dogs, so dogs it is
  19. if you're making it smaller, it shouldnt reduce/distort the quality. i've enlarged small pics using free transform and it hasnt pixelated them..
