This has been done. What were the results of the tests? I'm not sure as my mum got them done, I remember her saying that it was a waste of time because it wasnt able to outline the problem.

I have to admit when Coco had to spend a night at the vet, it was horrible not having him down at my feet under the covers.

I agree, vets have told me how it un hygienic etc. My partner told me when i went away for a week my boy slept on my pillow, I think he was fretting. SO cute but I ended up just throwing the pillow case away. why didn't you just wash it dog sleeps on the bed anyway I often have a couple of dogs and cats on my bed, even when Fern is in season; just put an extra blanket on the bed for her. LOL I normally do, but this was beyond washing.

Both of my dogs are 6 years old, my boy who I adopted at 12 weeks has slept in my bed since day 2. My girl I adopted 4 weeks ago cant get onto the bed so I have used this opportunity and she happily sleeps in her bed on the floor. Whats everyone's opinion on this, hygiene etc. I also share my bed with a 6ft male and 2 cats when they decide they want a cuddle No wonder im always tired!!!

My new addition to the family a pure pug cant jump up on the bed so i took the opportunity to have her sleep in her own bed on the floor next to me! However my pug x has been in the bed since the second night I adopted him only because i just couldnt handle his crying at night, and 6 years later he is still in my bed under the doona at night. He is a good foot warmer on these cold winter nights.

Chinese Crested or Great Dane is next- not until im completely animal free.

To stop the irritation you need to find what causes it, she obviously reacts to something that she inhales, eats or comes in contact with. I agree, but unfortunately for Miya its been 6 years of trying to find out what irritates her skin. They have tried everything, generic dog food, natural food, home made food, different washing powders my mum uses to wash bedding clothing, etc etc. If my mum & the vet could do anymore test to work out what causes the problem she would. Could it also be habit on Miyas behalf?? Unfortunately she is EXTREMELY fussy with her food and she will only eat My Dog wet food and cheese, we dont give her the cheese but we are aware she loves it. Im sure the food is not the best that she can be eating but like I said even when she was younger and did eat other foods the rashes and scratching would still occur. Mum has tried the paw paw, not sure about the coconut oil so willing to give it a try.

Im currently looking after my mums 9 year old female chinese crested, MIYA. She is tiny for the breed, and I believe that why the breeder was originally selling her. She has always had minor skin irritation and over the years the vet and my mum have tried alot to stop the licking and scratching. At the moment she is on cortisone tablets (i think) 1/4 a day. And every night I rub emu oil on any dry areas and put her pjs on or a jacket so she cant lick or scratch. Was wondering if there was anything else that people have heard of working? Either to sooth any scratching OR to stop the irritation that makes her scratch.

It's not an emergency thing, don't worry too much, but do get it checked out at the vet's on Saturday. Ask them to do a FNA (fine needle aspiration) which just means they take a tiny sample of blood from the lump (right there on the exam table, not a big proceedure) and then check the sample for cancerous cells or "mast" cells. Pugs are quite prone to MCT (mast cell tumours) but if detected early they can be removed usually without problem. Most lumps tend to be just fatty tissue and not MCT, but it always pays to have an aspiration done. Thanks, I will deff ask for one. Fingers crossed its all ok!!

WOW your right, sometimes she just walks around the house for 10 minutes with a toy in her mouth!!! She is 5 years old so im not sure if she will grow out of it LOL!!! Thanks for the advise!

Dry food and mince sounds like a horrible diet!!

Can I have opinions on how much a day my pug should be eating and what? I adopted her 2 weeks ago, she is 5 yrs old NOT desexed yet. She is......10kg and its clearly visible she is overweight. Would love to now the perfect amount to be giving this guts of a dog. I have only had her for 2 weeks and her new diet is raw roo or chicken with zuchinni, carrot, brown rice, raw egg, potato, peas and small amount of sardines, all mixed together. I want to have her desexed but obviously I cant until she has thinned down. I have been giving her NO treats since I have had her. She is such a guts the other day i dropped a large piece of garlic on the floor and she gobbled it up without a second thought. One more question, if im standing still she walks circles around me......anyone else experience this? Thanks

I adopted my pug 2 weeks ago, she is 5, not desexed and a little overweight. I found a hard lump under her skin, on her back about the size of a 20c piece. It does not move and it does not hurt her when i push it. We have a vet appointment this saturday to discuss her weight & desexing and I will have the vet look at it then but was hoping for any other similar cases or info. Cant help but worry.
