What a gorgeous face RIP Jenny

Thanks to TashaBailey and Elenbah for showing me pics of their gorgeous girls before and after coat drop in the shelti thread When showing is the coat a big factor then ? or does the judge take into account the coat dropping ? Also with the ears , do they need a bit of encouragment to tip over ? or are most natural . My shelti had stand up ears ( obviously a fault ) but i really like the tip over ears , they give more character

Just read thru all the questions and answers brilliant information I couln't find an answer to my question sorry if someone has already answered Before Maggie I had a sheltie who I loved to bits and had for 15 years I got her at 5 months ( ex show dog that didn't quite make it ) and she had been kennelled for the first 5 months of her life. This could be the cause of her personality Anyway she was a gorgeous loving dog , very loyal but she prefered her own company. She would happily be with you but never seeked out attention she just did her own thing. She didn't seek out laps or lounges or beds ect . She would just find a nice comfy spot and sleep there . We would be sitting down in the lounge watching Tv with the other dogs but Shannon would be somewhere else walking around doing things on her own , or sleeping in another room. If you called her she would come have a pat / cuddle then go again. Are they normally clingy following type dog that love cuddles and laps or do they prefer to find there own space ? She never was shy always went up to strangers had a pat then went on her merry way. I adore shelties and keep thinking that I would love another . ETA. Just remembered another funny thing , she would even play ball on her own . She would get the ball and throw it in the air and chase it , and repeat this over and over . If we tried to play she would let us have the ball and then go off .

Erin there is a trial this Sunday at Kuruby. Come along and have a run and ask the Lure coursing people there. They would be happy to explain. Maggie loves luring and is doing very well . It is a fun day watching how the different breeds chase the lure

I have no idea why they would say those rates . If it is rightI could have save so much money over the years. The only thing I can think of is that they think you only want to use it as a cleaner not as a insecticidal rinse OR they are giving rates for the Rinse Concentrate ( not pyrethrum one ) that has the same cleaning power and smell without an insecticide ;) Maybe talk with them again

Sending lots and lots of ;) to you and Molly

What sort of coat preperation is needed for the show ring ? Is there any clipping or stripping of the coat ?

I have an old Conmurra bath ( 15 years ). You access the tank by lifting up the floor pannel. I presume the newer models are filled differently ;)

yep 10ml rinse to 1 litre water . Works out a very expensive bath that way . I put cordial/milk bottles filled with water in the tank , this increases the water level but of course less actual bath water thus use less rinse. Hope that makes sense.

Awsome job. what a gorgeous looking boy Also to you PRS well done Had a little chuckle at the "hiding him from the boss" comment. Remembering how we used to do this and spend all our time keeping boss vet out of certain rooms. -
how awful for Rocky and your Aunt RIP Rocky

I would definately not have the proceedure done if not necessary. Not worth the risk even if it is a small risk . I had savannahs teeth done last year age 13. We had full bloods done , she was given IV fluids ect . If the teeth weren't giving her health problems there is no way I would haven done it.

:D those poor dogs. It can't be good for the skin under that fur maybe you can show them a pic of TLC's dog ( if she doesn't mind ) and suggest that there's could look just as good with a little care and attention.

Initially I sprinkled it on a chicken neck for the morning dose. Now Maggie just gets it once daily with her dinner .

You are right Ashanali with the folds around the mouth. I wipe the mouth / lip area with apple cider vingar and this makes kisses more pleasurable .

Sorry I don't understand what you mean, when you say leave it on for 10 mins. Do you mean that you wash it off ?. I just use it in the Hydro bath all over the dog even in the ears, it's a beaut cleaner for that and then just leave the dog in it's yard to dry. I think they are talking about the shampoo As it is a rinse, you leave it to dry on the dog. I have been using it for years as a flea rinse, very happy with it . love the smell
