he looks great as do those very cute dark peis I'll always be grateful to you for taking him Ams. Hope he finds his forever home soon. This is when he first arrived at the pound edited to add, not looking happy in confinement
-
agree, great news about Chance. He's lucky to have you
-
Chance sounds such a loveable character especially how he feels about his new mum! I hope the rest of the pack end up accepting him now that he's been 'inside'. Funny how they can react sometimes. Makes you wonder what signals dogs give out to each other. Hope his negative behaviour with Chai isn't an indication he's not good with other dogs. Is Chai usually dog friendly? What a clever boy to be able to boing boing like that! He's quite a big solid dog so you wonder how he'd get up so high. Thanks for the update Ams. Can't wait for the photos

oh my, what a journey this boy has taken everyone on He's now a very long way from the Queanbeyan pound happy in heaven at Peiradise. Thank you Ams, for giving him a chance ;) The last time I saw him he was in the end yard in the pound looking very sad. A fantastic outcome.

oh no, not a tick. Unforuntately Queanbeyan pound seem to have them at different times of the year! The dogs who go out into the end yards nearest the big car park seem to be worse. Hopefully he doesn't have any more on him.

That is a beautiful poem. I'm so very sorry your your loss. It's painful to say goodbye especially to one so young. Time will heal a little but a tough road in the meantime. Hugs to you.

thank you curlybert, what a memory you have. It's been 2 weeks tonight and we're all still hurting. Thank you everyone for your kind words. Powerlegs, your avatar and mine look like they're related!

so very sorry for your loss. RIP dear little Mozart

thank you everyone, your sentiments are very much appreciated and it helps to share with doggy people. It's been a very painful four days since he left us. We buried him under a beautiful rose bush we bought especially. Our other two dogs Rob Roy and Harry have been fairly quiet and our fosterdog went to his new home last week so the place has been feeling very empty. We all love our dogs but the pain when we lose them is sometimes unbearable. Time is a wonderful healer so looking forward to not feeling so sad. Lyn

Our special boy Baz taken from us suddenly. We're heartbroken. Love you forever
-
my boy Rob Roy is doing really well at obedience, seemed to take to it really well but it's been hard work. The only thing we're struggling with is retrieving, can't seem to get him to hold anything in his mouth - other than food that is hard decision choosing a second dog but westies are great dogs

hi poodlefan, wow you think she's possibly tenterfield and/or stafford! We have no idea and thought there may be terrier in the mix. She's very small and dainty so you have to wonder. Tail, hmm not sure. It said nothing in the hand-in notes (Canberra pound) and could have been docked but it's not as short as you'd expect from a docked tail. Whatever she is she's a darling girl and very very quick to learn. I'll look for a side shot... Hey tigerjack, it was a pleasure to meet you. Good luck with Lotus Lyn -

Fantastically Focused Kelpie X

thought I'd do a bumpity bump...she's still looking for her forever home...doing agility or flyball would be a bonus -
I'm fostering an amazingly focused 8-9 month old kelpie x called Nala who would make an excellent agility dog. She's not only good natured and gets along with other dogs but she is quick to learn, seems to want to please and is very fast! She can sit, drop and 'shake'. I've had her three weeks now and I'd love to see her in a home where she could take part in agility. If you know of anyone looking for a dog like Nala then please send them to me Her description is on the ARF website in the small/medium section ACT Rescue & Foster Some photos (she's not very big as you can see from the photo at the bottom)... Many thanks, Lyn

My Sweet Boy, With A Heart So Much Bigger Than His Size
bazilybazbaz replied to RoxyNHemi's topic in Rainbow Bridge
devasting news, I'm so sorry Sarah. Cruise was a gorgeous boy and I can't even imagine your pain. -
I have a wonderful and sweet-natured 2 year old foxi/kelpie x fosterdog who loves the ball. She will happily bring the ball back every time. In an ideal world, I'd love her to go to a home where she'd get the chance to take part in flyball (or agility, as she's fast, agile and extremely responsive so a dream to train). She's quick to learn and can sit, stay and drop but it's only been a few weeks since I started training her and I'm so impressed with her keeness to please. She's desexed, chipped, and vaccinated. She's currently living with three male terriers and is a great friend to my 12month old westie. We were at the coast this weekend where Gracie romped and ran and played in the sand with about 10 other dogs! Anyway, this is the lovely Grace and she's available for adoption. She's in our small/medium section on our website. She weighs approx 9kgs and measures 35cm from shoulder. eta age and breed mix!

So very sorry for your loss, it's such a heartbreak to lose a beloved pet. Westies are wonderful little dogs.
