  1. That is so sad and the thoughts that little kitten was suffering is just too awful. So glad she had you k9angel to hold her close at the end.
  2. a few more photos of the lovely boy from Raelene...
  3. thank you so much for the update. Wow, what a transformation. I cannot believe it's the same pup. I took this photo the day after he arrived in the pound. He was so thin and unhealthy looking he must have been miserable. Nevertheless, Chance was ever the friendly pup and very keen to get close. An absolute darling. Thank you again for taking him. And thanks to Rita for temp caring.
  4. She has rescue back up if she's not sold directly from the pound. I think she'll probably be sold directly as she's a lovely dog and this pound do get a good number of people looking at their dogs.
  5. Do you remember the puppy with the bent legs? All Breed Rescue in SA took him in and we'll always be grateful to them. He was picked up vaccinated and has been cared for by a local foster carer until he was ready to travel to All Breed Rescue in SA. This is a note from the puppy’s temporary carer. "Chance seems to have come a long way in the short time since arriving in the Pound, so I am sure he will be 100% in no time. Even his legs seem to be getting a bit straighter on their own! He has so much love to give to some lucky family. Heather/All Breed Rescue in SA asked that the he be named Chance. Chance is so gorgeous, I just want to eat him up!! He is of course a puppy, so comes with all the puppy issues, but he has settled in well at my place. He sits on command now and is getting better with the house-training. Saturday was such a busy one for him (and me) - he stuck by my side all day. By late afternoon he was so tired he sat near me in the kitchen swaying, he could hardly keep his eyes open. He is a real smoochy cuddlebum - he thinks he is a lap-dog! I can't stop cuddling him and kissing him on the top of his head. Yesterday he was much more relaxed and dozed happily in the big dog bed with the big doona. He looked so happy and content. Lots of happy sighs. ) He is such a lovely boy, I'm so glad we saved him. Thanks for organising it! Cheers. Rita"
  6. I thought I'd post some photos I took on Saturday. She's a lovely dog and smaller than she looks in the photos.
  7. Dulcie is look so lovely now. You did a wonderful and amazing thing taking her in the condition she was in. I must admit when Raelene and I met her at the pound we thought for sure she wasn't going to make it. I'm so happy to see her looking so healthy. Her babies too, what a fantastic outcome. Lyn
  8. i took a bag of small coats to the pound last week. Maybe none fitted. she's a gorgeous girl and so pretty. Got along with the other dogs too. She was going into the new Qbn thread I'm hoping to start tomorrow but if she's safe then all the better :) Lyn
  9. all snuggly and warm and devoted to each other. Phoenix looks like someone just woke him up! Hope his throat feels better.
  10. It's a miracle they are still alive. The only way I could look at the photos was knowing that they were safe. Heartbreaking to see an animal so painfully thin like that. The photos of them in care are pretty special. Will also make a donation. Hope they recover quickly but it's so good to see them warm and not hungry.
  11. good luck gorgeous Pippa :) It's definitely hard to let them go sometimes but the rewards are worth it.
  12. she's a cutie and agree not much staffy in there. Ziggy is looking grown up and very handsome. Glad she's safe :)
  13. Miss Squish, thank you so much for giving her the chance and for this incredible update and photos! I took the pound photos and found her to be just lovely. I must admit I never thought she'd make it out so thank you again. eta I can't stop looking at the photos of her and those gorgeous pups!
  14. a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. I'm so sorry for your loss. RIP little boy.
  15. so sad to hear of a beloved pet taken so suddenly like that. I'm so sorry.
  16. Hugs Jodie. It's so painful when we lose our best friend. Love those photos of him.
  17. it's so important to have a partner who supports you and I'm one of the lucky ones who does. It makes life so much easier when there is help to get dogs to the vet, walking, popping home from work to let a dog just desexed or had surgery out of a crate for a quick toilet break, the list goes one. My husband although annoyed when he finds another chewed bit of the couch soon gets over it and patches it up! I know I could manage this myself (have done in a previous life!) but with him I can do much more. I must admit he likes it when I spend hours on the computer writing notes, downloading photos and putting dogs on DOL because then he has control of the remote! Agree about our own dogs looking at us saying NOT ANOTHER, please NOOOOOO!
  18. awesome news. He's so handsome and just about fits in that clam shell
