  1. I just use the pet mince from the supermarket. Sometimes we get the roo from the pet supplies store.
  2. I might have an agility trial, otherwise I'd love to come!
  3. 14th is my first ever agility trial! 28th- Might be ok- have to see if I have tennis and netball and if my mum will drive me. edit: Ness, check out this thread http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?showtopic=95192 . I need to draw a diagram because its kinda hard to explain. Which obstacles are you interested in?
  4. Leopuppy- I can show you the jumps I made from PVC (all from bunnings) if you want a design. I also made a wooden one because we have all this wood at home so it didn't cost anything.
  5. Yes yes! Box Hill is good! We have good parks! Dogdude- I think I live in a dog obedience/ agility desert too!
  6. OOO i can't come but keep posting when there are workshops and hopefully I can come to one of them.
  7. Can I come? Please! But we have to do some agility for us agility nuts! I have 2 single jumps (soon to be more), mini tunnel, mini see-saw (if I can get it in the car), tire jump, weave poles (again if it fits in the car) and a few big cones (can be used to send dog out around etc.).
  8. Another foundation exercise for agility is teaching the dog to run through a channel of weave poles (absolutely no bending of the back- just driving through the channel). You can also teach the weave entries from all angles with the channel. My camera is dead so I can't get any videos but there is a great article on it in the February issue of Clean Run.
  9. Thankx Now, to convince my mum that I do need to take Abbie herding! ;)
  10. Awesome! From the website: If you don't know don't worry but...Do you have to pay for these or be a member of the club? Thankyou! ;)
  11. Is that next to Kepala Park? How much does it cost? I'd love to come! ;)
  12. Guess what?!? I just bought my first clicker yesterday (thankx for the motivation Husky87 ) and it took 5 minutes for Abbie to learn click=treat. She is responding really well with the clicker with her contact training. Another happy clicker convert here!!
  13. WOW good timing for this topic. Im currently deciding if I want to enter Abbie in her first agility trial later this month. I was originally planning for her first trial to be in April but I want to enter her in one run only so I can see how she go's. So basically i've got the "I dont care how she goes" attitude- as long as she doesnt run out of the ring!!
  14. Abbie LOVES the see saw! Its so strange. Most dogs are scared of it. She also likes the tunnel and well, just about every obstacle!
  15. I LOVED that book! edit: Although, I wish I read it before I started agility training.
  16. Ahhh now thats what I need! And also thats what I ment by a "fun match" - a trial environment but no competition (no placings, points etc.). I do belong to a club so I will ask next time about having a members comp kinda thing (training doesn't start for the year until Feb 11). Thankx for the help guys. Sorry for hijacking your thread kavik
  17. Thankx Erny :nahnah: I have heard of "fun matches" on an American dog forum- do they have these in Australia? Or am I just asking the same question again?
  18. Sorry to hijack the thread Kavik but does anyone know if they have agility 'fun matches' anywhere in Vic? Arya, Do you know if they have these for agility? Thankx ;)
  19. It would be worth paying $$$$ for the rarity.
  20. Can I have one of the pups, I mean kittens, I mean kitups. :D ;)
