Hi all, I want to buy Click and Play Agility by Angelica Steinker but I have been unable to find it in any Australian stores (internet and other). I could buy it from the US but it will cost $20 in postage making it over $50 for the book. I can't really afford this for just one book at the moment but I really need some help with our focus issues and some ideas for training games. This book is supposed to be really good and I was recommended it by a local agility trainer. I've also read some reviews and it looks like just what I need. So my question is does anyone know where to buy this in Australia? thanks

R.I.P. Little boy. I'm so sorry for your loss Kristie.

Unfortunately my club still uses the old methods. I sneak in treats and don't use a chocker though.

I thought it was only double handling when you said something to the dog or handler in the ring?

Well done to those who passed the test and those who are training for it. I would like to do it one day but I just need to get out the bike and teach Abbie to run along side me with a lead. I can do the 20kms fine and with a bit of training Abbie could too just gotta get motivated!

Sh*tty Day At Agility Training

How does the saying go? Bad rehearsal, good performance...something like that. Don't worry too much about it. If you were ready for the trial when you entered one bad day at training doesn't mean you should scratch...Good luck. -

I used the V-weaves method and my BC caught onto the idea of weaving very quickly.

The thing I found the hardest was remembering the course. I got lost several times! Numbers mean nothing if you don't know what number the last obstacle you took was. Good luck! :D

My first run I was super nervous but after that I was fine. How many runs are you entered in?

Is that this Saturday as in tomorrow?? Could I come and do some agility so I can practice with distractions? Others can use it too. I will have to convince my mum to take me first though... -
Helen, I think I saw a dog you bred at the agility trial I was at on Sat. His name was Max. He was really cute. edit: BTW- well done to everyone at their trial. Some great results there!

Well I only have a tiny tiny tiny brag..dunno if its even good enough for a brag but here goes... Abbie and I had our first agility trial on Saturday. Her first run was regular agility and she wouldn't go up the dog walk the first time but towards the end of the run she got better. Her second run was regular 2 and she went really really well. She did the distance test great, weaved, didn't get sucked into the tunnel when there was a tunnel/a-frame and tunnel/dog walk discrimination but I called her over an off course jump so we didn't Q but I was still super happy coz it was a great run! we came 1st She didn't Q in Chances because she was 1 second too slow, otherwise a good run. Touch N Go she was clean but yet again 1 sec too slow. She still came 2nd Weavers she missed an entry but otherwise was great. Came 2nd again!! Jumpers she had one off course jump ( I got lost ) but it was a really good run besides that and I took a big lead out which she handled fine. All in all it was a great day and we only need to work on focus (she stopped to "talk" to the judge a few times) and speed. She got two 2nds and two 1sts !! edit: You know what i learned? That the numbers mean nothing if you don't know what number the last obstacle you took was! :D
