Can dogs get sleep apnea like some of us humans ?? (I have a mild form of it and will occasionally splutter, choke etc during the night )
-
One of our Cavs sometimes does that at night, which I have put down to her having an elongated soft palate. I just gently wake her up, and pat her to sleep again Poppydog if it starts happening regularly take her to the vets to just have a check over.

Thank you poophiemamma, probably won't be walking them today, its been really bad weather.. they hanging out tho to go somewhere ! (might just take them for a drive, which they love just as much lol) I hope you and your pooches have a lovely day too (and hopefully incident free!)

One of our Cavs can be a bit narky at times , so these days we don't go to off leash parks (plus I had a very traumatic experience years ago with another one of my dogs in one) We arn't too happy if unleashed dogs come up to us while we are out and about, regardless if the dog is a friendly one (not that you can tell always at the time). I am aware she is like that, so I do the responsible thing by having her under control, and avoiding certain situations (if possible) I am sorry to hear you had a really bad experience tho PM, but unfortutely these things sometimes happen, been there done that which is why I am more cautious with my current dogs now

No not really, but was happier as he was reunited with him Mummy (Renae) again ! He also had been grieving over his best friend (our last dog Jenna), and was not being his normal playful self. He loves his Mummy heaps ! they have been so good for each other ;-)

I grew up always being surrounded by GSD's dogs because my parents bred them. My Dad took me to the Royal show when I was in my very early teens, and we were in the dog section and told me to pick out a small breed that I would like to own, and he would look into them for me. I instantly feel in love with the Cavaliers ! Well it never panned out, and instead he let me choose a little cross bred puppy at the Animal Welfare shelter in SA. She was so loyal , and I had her for years until she got cancer and had to be pts. I ended getting into farm type heeler dogs (from shelters.) and competed in obedience trials and some agility with them. I was quite active back then! Years later when I got married in my early 30's, I said to my DH could we maybe look into getting a Cav? We still had my last dog Jenna, but she was getting on in age, and I wanted my next dog to fit the lifestyle I lead now.. which is not active anymore. Well we did our research etc, and went to a show (just to look at them!) and ended up falling in love with Joey (who was being shown at the time but up for sale to the right people). The rest is history!! So I only got my dream dog in my 30's many years later !

I asked a vet receptionist once and she that the human ones have no effect on animals My cat has allergy injections every few months, done at the vets.

I've always had dogs and cats together, all different sizes and breeds (Mixes). Have never encountered any major issues. I grew up with dogs and cats too, and there never seemed to be any real issues of them mixing together that I can recall.. We were rehomed a Ragdoll late last year that had lived with an Amstaff, iggys and other farm type dogs. They never had any problems either with them all. This is him now with Joey . and our other cat Karma with our Cavs.

I always wanted one (the only large sized dog that's ever interested me) , they are beautiful ! I've met a few over the years, all great temperaments, especially Cassie's ! I had a long haired GSD x Blue heeler dog years ago (rescue), and people used to aways say to me has he got BMD in him lol

Autism Assistance Dog In Need Of Help

As mentioned above in my earlier post, you can donate to the actual guide dog association (asking for it to go the Fremont), not the family. So I would think that would be genuine ;) -

Hope you don't mind me adding a bit extra to your post Ravyk... This is how donations can be made (in case anyone is worried about it being genuine or not) Copied and pasted from Freemont's family from Freemont's family ''Coby- Hi everyone..Im on here to ask for help.. My two boys have a beautiful Autism Assitance dog named Fremont- over the weekend he got very sick and has had to have emergency surgery, things arent looking good for him with enlarged lymphnodes and unable to keep anything down he is still in hospital awaiting tests and more ...surgery.Guide Dogs S.A N.T have offered to help me out with his vet bill that has now gone well past $3,000.and rising. They are an amazing organization but rely on the public for support. Can you spare $5 towards helping fremont? Please send it, take it in to Guide Dogs S.A N.T in Morphett St Adelaide and tell them it is to help Fremont. This Dog has changed my childrens lives.. please help me save his''. Would the pacers team be able to help in this situation?? -

We had one out once when we were living in Strath, but for the life of me I can't remember what she was called ! (sorry) I did have her card, but since moving have lost lots of stuff If I remember, I will come back and let you know Tara. What about looking in the Argus, or courier ? not that you will know what they are personally like -

Allie, not sure if you know already, or someone has mentioned this already to you, but there is a very helpful section here to find out more about breeds that you are interested in Dog Breeds 101 -
I recall a certain doler's dog liking Joey a bit too much at a meet and greet (not yours)

Cocker Spaniel Vs Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
julesluvscavs replied to allie181's topic in General Dog Discussion
Joey is a top mouse hunter ! Both ours shed a fair bit (but we have 2 fluffy cats as well so we sort of used to it lo l!), even with regular grooming, We don't get them clipped, altho we do give them a light trim every so often around their ears/paws Ours prefer to be mostly inside with us. Not sure ours would cope too well If I worked as well lol . They love human company and want to be where ever you are including your bed, lounges etc .. Like us, they all have their different personalities, quirks, flaws etc ;-) I just love Cavaliers !!!!!!! Oh they love their food alright , more like they are obsessed by food ! so you have to becareful not to over feed them, no matter how much they will beg you with their big brown pleading eyes !!! :p
