In my experiences with them, and from people I know that also own them, I totally agree ! :D

Hard work, I haven't personally found that ... Like people, we are all different tho, same with dogs.. but Cavs have certainly been the easiest dog I've ever own throughout my life.. Mine aren't perfect angels all the time.. but what dog is?

Custom Crate Covers, Pros And Cons?
julesluvscavs replied to LisaCC's topic in General Dog Discussion
I and a few others have had ours made by a doler (Cockerlover). She may have advertised them in the market place. :) I don't do any competitions with my dogs, its more just to look neater as its in our loungeroom. It doesn't cover the door area. Its blue with red trim. we even have a little picture frame in their crate with a pic of hubby and I in it  oh and btw noone minds it, even our Ragdoll cat goes in it as well. -
We also have put that green dental additive stuff in their drinking water, im not convinced it has worked that well in our case..

Gosh we did everything we were told too do from cleaning their teeth to buying expensive dental dry food from the vet, and still both J and R had extensive dental work done.. The only thing with them is they have never liked to chew on bigger type bones, so they have only had chicken necks/wings (and sometimes frozen ones to make them chew longer) dentastix, pig ears etc The vets said that some dogs breeds are more likely to be predisposed to dental problems than other ones.. and smaller dogs more so than bigger dogs. But like humans, even ones that have done everything right still sometimes have teeth problems. The vet did say out of everything that can go wrong with dogs, teeth are usually fixable, and even if they have them all out, they can still survive easily without any*. . Its very expensive tho dental work * but never leave a dog with bad teeth too long without having them treated as it can lead to other serious health problems (or it can be a result of something else going on with their health eg diabetes)

Dishwashing Flea Treatment?
julesluvscavs replied to SaddleNotIncluded's topic in General Dog Discussion
Interesting, never heard of using dish washing liquid before! we have an issue with fleas here in Goolwa too Have tried most flea products without much success, has cost a small fortune over the last few years trying different things! Comfortis seems to be the most effective one so far for our cavs, but it doesn't seem to last quite the whole month as it says it does.(depends on the season too) -

glad to hear they desex now then :) I was worried when I first read the first post. Im sure she will be find a new forever home quickly, they usually do! She's lovely. -
Renae's an inhaler too !

Cavaliers are notorious for it, but our Renae is very very food obsessed ! In fact she had me worried recently and i even had her tested for diabetes and cushings disease.. which came back negative. And for those that think cavvies aren't smart, she is, in the extreme ways she will go too to get our attention to give her more food!

it will match with the current yellow council tags.. I dont know if too many people would know what it meant tho.. especially non doggy people

Nah can't relate, don't like dogs at all !

Do You Ever Get Sad On Your Dogs Birthday?
julesluvscavs replied to Baileys mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
We haven't had Joey and Renae since they were puppies, but they are now 8 and 10 and I do worry as they start getting older I'm going run out of time with them I try not to dwell to much on it and think every year we have Renae from now on is a bonus! :) I was bit miffed when on Renae's 10th birthday a fb friend was saying how sad and depressed she was getting about her dog getting older (its a year older than Renae) and how worried she was about her dog's life coming to an end in the near future . I was like i don't need to feel your doom and gloom on my dogs birthday post !! and told her to think happy thoughts ! Oh and very happy 6th birthday to Bailey tomorrow!! think happy thoughts! x -
Came across this Adele parody-dog version song before, very cute :) There's other ones on you tube in the side bar.:)

Most Cavaliers are happier if they have human company around them quite a bit. I know there are some that have full time working owners, and they probably get used to it, but from my experience Cavaliers don't always do as well on their own for too long a periods.. Unless you have 2 of them ;-) I do go out for a few hours at a time and i come home to them usually sleeping, but I don't think they would cope too well if i worked full time hours. And some Cavaliers can get a bit yappy (not all of them). Mine do from time to time, between sleeping  But they would still make a great apartment dog, all they need is a sofa, nice comfy bed or lots of cushions/pillows around the place hehe

I wouldn't do it out in public just because out of respect to other patrons.. altho i have dipped my finger in the froth part of my capachino and let them lick it off when we have taken them to dog friendly cafes (in the outside section) why do people get all icky about this when people have licked their spoons and touched their cups with their lips (and hands) anyway in cafes ???? whats the difference, some people's mouths and hands have been in worse places  BTW I don't give ours coffee as such, but they have had a tiny bits of the froth and slurps from my cups afterwards (at home).:)

Something Freaky Just Happened.
julesluvscavs replied to luffy4688's topic in General Dog Discussion
If its just the one time, I would possibly think its something like that has unsettled and scared him.. or a bite from something. Have you checked he doesn't have any fleas on him? Some dogs are extremely sensitive to fleas. -
Something Freaky Just Happened.
julesluvscavs replied to luffy4688's topic in General Dog Discussion
our Joey is very very reactive to unseen things in the house He's bolted up upright many many times on our bed to start yapping at something , and is really fixated on it. Usually he wags tail too lol He gets the spooks all the time .. I used to put it down to just bad dreams but who knows hmmmm. -
