Waiting For A Puppy This Thread Is For You
julesluvscavs replied to jess live die's topic in Puppy Chat
I can now officially join you all in here now If all goes smoothly our little girl will be coming to live with us in about 6 weeks time. We hope to go meet her in the next week or 2. She turned 4 weeks old yesterday :D We are very very excited !!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting to think of some names for her, have a few ideas atm. Moons are very symbolic to me (us), so hopefully it will tie in with it . Her and her litter mates were born on my husband and my 8th wedding Anniversary, which was a full moon . Lunar is one of the names on our list . -
I asked ours a while back the council about getting a permit for a 3rd dog here at our place in Goolwa. They said there wouldn't be any problems mostly because of the breed of dogs being small. Weird thing tho you can't actually put the permit in until you have the 3rd dog !! too bad if they refuse you then They just said it wouldn't be an issue unless the neigbours were too complain on numerous occasions. I guess if we were to have bigger type dogs then it might be a different story?

Feeding Glyde/any Powder Type
julesluvscavs replied to puppy_dawgs's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Ive been feeding Renae Glyde, but only a half scoop.. I mix it with some hot water and dry food, and let it cool down a bit, or with yoghurt :) ATM ive taken her off it, as shes got some liver issues, and im sticking to a very controlled diet for now. I was only giving it to her to keep her body supple now shes getting older. In her case she doesn't have to be on it. -
Hope she will be ok ? *hugs* Yeah the excess weight wouldn't be helping (don't i know for my own back problems)

My apologies I haven't been in here recently ( so thank you to anyone whose left comments for me) but Congrats on all the new arrivals !! Loving more pics of puppies and gorgeous ones at that ! -
I said it, and it was quoted by Pers but without my name in it. As I said earlier its up to everyone what they do in their own household. I was referring to some of my friends, not anyone on here. What you all do is none of my business..
-
and lets not forget there are 'some' pets that need to be fed at routine times because of medications and or diabetes. (and some other health conditions)..
-
At the end of the day, what you do and how you do it in your household re your pets feeding routine , is your choice, not anyone else's. Long as they get fed, hopefully not at some ridiculous hour that Ive seen friends feed theirs
-
Yep my Cavs go silly at dinner time, well half hour before lol Morning times they are too.. Mine would die of hunger if they weren't fed by 5.30pm at the very latest

Huge gentle hugs to you Chicken, I feel your hearbreak hun *hugs*' RIP Beautiful Fern

Well I do believe a lot of things are in the laps of the gods as they say, and if something is meant to be, it will come along . Timing is everything . Im glad your little rescue kitten is helping. Support come in various ways and forms *hugs* BTW 12 is a good age for a cav with a heart murmur.. if thats any consolation You did the right thing giving Fern her wings x
-
Jules..they do . Different body language and different scents produced by the body - either from a disease process or medications certainly make them aware .! I've seen it many times. I never noticed it with him and Jenna (I probably didn't want to notice it at the time), but i am noticing it with him and his Mother. And it like he's always been the submissive one, but lately he's kind of stepping up..

Im sorry to hear about Fern, Chicken, that is so sad. You probably have posted about it on fb but I never see your posts in my newsfeeds. Was it sudden? We went through a similar situation years ago with our last dog. Jenna and Joey were very close, and it was the saddest thing to watch Joey fret after. We tried not to make too much fuss over him, as he is a sensitive boy at the best of times, but we did take him on extra drives/outings for quite a days after. We just kept up with his normal routine as much as possible. Luckily his breeder rehomed us his Mother a few months later and that was a blessing in itself for all of us. We may be going thought it at some stage again with Renae (Joey's Mum) as she's over 10 now, and has just started having liver issues I don't even want to think about it ! We may be getting a cav puppy (we have been searching for a long time) and if this puppy comes to be ( we will know in about 4 weeks time) I think it will be perfect timing in that there will be another cav around to entertain Joey, if something should happen to his Mother later. I think he already knows something is up with his Mother. Anyway I don't have much other advice, but I feel your heartbreak. How old was Fern? RIP Fern and hugs for your Chicken and your Rotti x
