  9. Hi Everyone :) I was going to wait to do this post until our Puppy comes to live with us, and it was all official, but I am way too excited to wait to share! Some of you may know already, especially if you are my fb friend, or in my Cavalier fb group or in the 'Waiting for a puppy' thread here on dol I have wanted a Tri colour Cavalier for ever, but fate stepped in and we were blessed with 2 beautiful Blenheim's over the years instead, which are the loves of our lives! But after being on the lookout for quite some time now for the 'right' breeder and then having to wait on a waiting list, the time is almost here.. 7 more sleeps to go ! I can't believe I am finally getting a puppy for the first time in my 46 years of life, and a Tri coloured female one at that ! I am pretty much into believing in fate and when the stars align at the right time etc and to top of it off Miah (pronounced My ah) and her siblings came a bit early and were born on my Husband's and My 8th Wedding Anniversary (in the evening) last November. Miah is Aboriginal meaning the Moon. Im very into Moon phases and she was born during a Full moon, which most of our more significant life events have occurred when its been a full moon.. Her registered name also has Moon Light in it Her breeder is wonderful and I had met her a few times over the years at the SA Cavalier fun days. She has been giving us regular updates from well before Miah was born, and is very caring and thorough which we were looking for in a breeder, as we have had with Joey and Renaes' breeder over the years as well:) So all going smoothly she will be coming to live with us next weekend, the breeder will be bringing her to us wohooo! She will be just over 10 weeks old then. Im sure Renae and Joey will be besotted with her as much as we are ! (We have already met her) perhaps the cats not so much
  10. Hope those of you who are interested can open this link. Very creative pics ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2267126/Wee-like-seaside-Miniature-figures-hilarious-underwater-scenes.html
  11. well you not much further behind us Sujo with Flynns arrival ! Yes this last stretch is going feel like forever lol I think we are mostly organised now! hope so ! ;-) http://julesluvscavs.blogspot.com.au/
  12. I agree, I have known of Cavs that have done quite well in obedience and agility trials !;) I would love to do it again, and with my new one, but im not as fit anymore and live too far away from clubs etc.. ps Years ago when I used to compete in obedience trials, there were quite a few Shelties doing quite well in trials :)
  13. I haven't got Miah yet, but she will be here soon. Im going wait for 2 weeks after her second vaccinations to play it safe. My Cavs are currently up to date with their vaccinations. I will be taking extra precaution when i take her to the vets to be done too:) When we went to visit her last her breeder made sure we sprayed our feet/shoes etc with some stuff before touching her puppies.
  14. we get our Cavs done every so often at the vets, but it hasn't cost that much! Our Cavalier Club also has someone doing it at our fun days for a small cost. Feeding pumpkin in their diets also helps..
  15. Its a difficult question. I would try to evacuate early with them if possible, theres been many cases people haven't ! we only have small pets so it would most properly be easier enough to take them with us, unlike people with horses and stock Luckily we dont live in a high risk area for bushfires, floods etc altho we do live near a beach! but if there was a rare Tsunami then I think we would be fairly safe since we are on a high part of our area. I would like to think if it got to that point, I would stay with our pets, i couldn't imagine leaving them in my wildest dreams, but when its a survival thing, who knows at the time what one would do in that situation Hopefully we will never have to face it !
  16. Oh that is a very long way away! I didn't realize sorry Well Ive been waiting months, but this last stretch until Miah comes to live with us seems the worst, it seems like forever till she gets here ! lol Ive seen so many people in here that have now got their puppies, but im still waiting .. impatiently lol
  17. Oh how exciting Misteri !!! My puppy will be coming to live with us soon too ! ps Have you been to the breeders place to meet them yet?
  18. Thank you Minimax, will look into it for Joey's weepy eyes :)
  19. Joey often has weepy eyes and rubs them a fair bit on the sofa, but i cleanse them fairly regularly because of it (just around his eyes) our vet has never said its any serious issue. He has had a tiny growth removed of his eyelid in the past without any problems. But they do come back, and hes got another one, but unless it gets much bigger, I won't be getting it removed just yet.. Sometimes it seems like you in the wars with pets, cars, us.. life. *sigh*. Sorry to hear they both need stuff done soon. Its never easy emotionally or on our pockets
  20. But why do they howl occasionally ? I wonder what triggers it off ? lol
