  1. On our beds at night, altho Renae has been recently taken to sleeping sometimes under our bed! If we are in the loungeroom watching tv, they either sleep on the sofas or in their crate ;)
  2. Its tomorrow shes coming DD :) So you can relate to how im feeling Her breeder is bringing her here and i just want everything to go perfectly, so i hope Joey and Renae will be on their best behavior ! ;-) When we got Joey , he was about 15 months old and i swear i was ringing up the vet every few days because i thought he was sick/injured etc, and i was always overreacting big time! lol Miah's breeder has said on numerous occasions doesn't matter how trivial any concerns we have about her, we can always contact her for advice etc ;) Even tho Im fairly experienced with owning dogs most of my life, ive just never had a puppy before ! so yeah excited and nervous at the same time . I will do lots of updates via her blog. x Thank you poochmad
  3. Thanks Sujo Not sure how J and R will be with a bundle of energy running around them, but if she gets too full on and they need some time out, we have bought some large pens for inside and the outside the house for her to play in also .. We have put a baby gate on the spare room's door so the cats have somewhere to escape lol. One of our cats goes into her cat run during the day anyway if the weather is nice :)
  4. I get motion sickness when travelling, I would think that some dogs might suffer with it too. I wonder if you can get something safe and natural for it to give beforehand eg ginger?? I have no idea if it would work, but it might ? might be worth doing some research into what might be effective? I do a couple things myself but im not sure they would be suitable for a dog also ;-) All my dogs have been fine with travelling any safe speeds or distance ..
  5. Thanks Sujo !! I have never even had a human baby, so its very very new to me ! Im 46, and i just had to experience a baby something hehe yes its a good its still summer when we are getting our puppies! Im not looking fwd to having to get up extra early either, i like staying in bed till later these days lol My husband or I usually put Joey and Renae out around 4.30-5.30am's for them to go the toilet anyway :) Not long before Flynn comes too, bet you are getting very excited as well !!! I will do an update at some stage after Miah's arrived. I bought Joey a little black and white spotted bow tie to meet his new sister with :)
  6. 2 more sleeps Sujo !!!!!!!!!!!!! im very excited but also nervous, is that normal. Im worrying about lots of silly little things atm
  7. Yoness is sure growing and looking beautiful ! Shes a puppy, they going make mistakes, i bet we did heaps as babies hehe Its all part of the fun of having them from a young age .. It will be my first experience of owning a puppy. Her breeder has started already on her housetraining. I expect we are all going learn as we go ;-) I understand about the jealousy thing, im secretly hoping Miah fusses over me more than my husband lol
  8. Thankyou dogsforjane, 3 more sleeps now yes this last week is really dragging out !!!! I will do an update once shes here and settled in ;) Hows your puppy going??
  9. Your breeder should be giving you advice re what to feed your puppy. Usually they give out an Information booklet when you get your puppy and it has lots of good advice in it :)
  10. Sujo what a great day to be getting your puppy on, not long then !! Ps Congrats on your puppy also Ellz !
  11. We did experience a similar thing mid last year with Renae. It was bizarre and frightening to watch! I was panicking and we rang the vets (it was the weekend) as we thought maybe she had been bitten by a snake or spider ! They didn't seem overly concerned grrrr after asking us a few questions about it. Said to bring her in in about a hours time if she still couldn't move properly.. I have a friend who does osteolign on people and she said she would come out and take a look.. She did and worked on Renae, said her spine/hip felt bit out of wack and within 10 mins she released Renae and it was like nothing had happened to her !! I had previously put a warm wheat bag on her while waiting for my friend to come around. Its never happened since thank god !! It was like she had a really bad pinch nerve.. her back end just went all floppy and she kept collapsing ! It was like she was having a mini stroke.. It has never happened again since *touch wood* and hopefully she wont have it happen again. Very very scary stuff! Hope its nothing too serious with your Tess !! x
  12. I haven't tried those particular ones, but our vets gave me one to try for Renae long time ago. Its only ok for dry food not wet food . It was ok the one I tried altho it didn't last long as it was made out of some cheap plastic and cracked easily
  13. I have no advice to offer westiemum.. I haven't had any issues yet in that department with my Cavs (and ive been expecting Renae too now shes getting older and had some health issues). I can understand you wanting them to sleep in their beds not yours now tho.. One of my medications is Endep, and its also been used (not in my case!! lol) for children who have ongoing problems with wetting their beds. I wonder if vets can prescribe them in low dose? I have no idea if dogs are able to have them, its just what popped into my head.. I hope you feel better soon! Its horrible when one is sick and having to deal with other stuff like this ! x
  14. true lol well Miah is coming with some things so I don't want to go too silly until she gets here lol We recently got sent an information booklet with heaps of stuff in from the breeder, im still going through it ;-) we have installed a few baby gates now in our house and bought some pens for inside and outside :)
  15. ive been waiting for months, so I think im ready Lisa lol we have done as much as we can for her arrival ! of course there will be a few things we will have do after she comes, but yeah i think we are as organised as we are ever going be . Bring it on now !
  16. She's gorgeous !! Congrats on your new puppy !:)
  17. Oh ok saw where you wrote they cant really afford to go the vets about it
  18. The dogs I have owned in the past if they have had really bad arthritis the vets have given them a course of Catrophen injections.. Sometimes they have needed ongoing courses of it, but they have been the best thing for my past dog's situations..
  19. Apart from naming her Miah because its means the moon, its also means dreams! ''For Hindi speakers it is derived from a Sanskrit expression meaning ''Dream, illusion or illusory energy.'''' I actually dreamt of the litter the night before her Mother had them!
