  1. Ours do not get washed regularly. Usually only when we are taking them somewhere special, or if they need a flea shampoo. They do require regular maintenance tho as mentioned already. We even trim their hairs on the pads of their paws. Ours shed heaps, but so do our 2 fluffy cats. If they not brushed regularly they will get matted especially around their ears I love the breed with a passion and they are perfect for our lifestyle
  2. I don't know if you are on fb ? but i know of the person who has this business. She is based in Tasmania, https://www.facebook...naughty?fref=ts
  3. Theres a few different fb business's that are getting into making similar stuff (eg bandannas). They are a good idea :)
  4. Glad to hear your puppy is eating better now :) My cavalier puppy hasn't gone through that stage, i dont think she ever will, she's a cavalier after all I guess its like young children, some eat heaps and others lose interest from time to time.. Long as shes keeping her weight and is healthy otherwise :)
  5. Did you mean Cavalier King Charles Spaniels ? ;-)
  6. Ive gone anti flea treatments of any sort of late. Unfortunately We have flea problems where we are located. Ive never had problems with fleas before moving here I had been using comfortis, but no longer do. It was the most effective one I have ever used on the cavs. Not sure if its ok for puppies ? If you decide to try it, like all types of medications etc make sure you do your research with them first.. for possible side effects. We currently use the monthly Revolution heartworm/flea treatment on our puppy Miah. There are various natural alternatives out there, but not sure how effective they really are, if fleas are really bad ? I hate fleas with a passion
  7. Oh how exciting for you also Lisa :) Its always bittersweet when you lose one of your precious furbabies and knowing the right time to move onto the next one.. When we were offered Renae, Joey's Mum, their breeder thought it would be best to wait a few months before she brought Renae to us. We had just lost of our Jenna dog to cancer. Its all in the timing. When the time is right, usually things fall into place.
  8. Excellent ! Even tho my parents bred GSD's when i was younger (they were registered breeders), years later in their 50s/60's they got into Rotti's and owned 2 beautiful ones for many years. Tess and Teagan They have since gone to doggy heaven
  9. I just give Miah the yellow yolk part every once in a while with her other raw food. I bought a egg separator very cheaply recently from an op shop. Its not that fiddly to use. :) I also add some of the cracked shell into it. Sometimes all the cavs get cooked scrambled eggs as a treat :)
  10. Oh thats no good Sujo ! Im on fb, so long as they are set for public, i should be able to see them when you work how to post a link etc :) Miah is all legs and ears atm as well (in fact she keeps chewing at her ears because they get in her food and they must be tasty afterwards ) lol They do grow so quickly every day don't they!
  11. Altho its I don't think it works for serious anxiety problems? i am trying `Anxiety Aid'by Rufus and Coco atm for our older Cav 'Renae' She doesn't have anxieties as such but her age and health problems have been causing her to have shakes and some mild fits. Ive had her on it for about 2 weeks now, and we have seen some improvement. on it. But like everything best check ingredients as someone was telling me it does have something in it thats not good to long term use, or for certain health conditions. Anyway just sharing in case it helps someone else's dog :) Ps sounds like your dog needs more heavy duty stuff Stitch ! all the best :)
  12. Dr Phil had an episode about online scammers yesterday on his show. These scammers will try everything ! altho I find it amazing that people still fall for them that easily without questioning it and checking them our more..
  13. I have always used a spray water bottle as my 2 can get yappy Sometimes I have said 'Stop It' when spraying, others times Ive said nothing, the action speaks for itself now. One of our Cavs is deaf now anyway, so she understand what its all about without having to say anything. Im using the same principle on our puppy now too to stop her chasing the cats, as shes stirring them up heaps and Im scared they are going scratch her eyes!
  14. Thinking of you Rach Ive also left a comment in the Rainbow bridge section x
  15. Well said DD, Rach is a truly remarkable and passionate person. Any dog that comes into her care will be so loved and made to feel very special. Sorry to hear thIS Rach Thinking of you *hugs* x RIP Blacky
  16. My Dad had guard dogs years ago when he had a business... I don't really remember much about them as they were yard dogs, not house dogs. I think he brought one home for a couple nights once as it was crook. I was just saying the other day to my husband how you don't see guard dogs around as much anymore.. Probably because there are more effective security systems in place now? I do vaguely recall he had signage up about guard dogs on patrol..
  17. Thanks Minimax and Stansmum, its just something Ive been wondering about now that im feeding Miah more variety of things in her raw diet (especially fishy foods) :)
  18. Just in re to feeding sardines or any other tinned fish, is there a difference with giving the home brands compared with getting the mores exxy brands? eg John West. Im always worried if they are from China or places like that whats in them. or if they are clean enough ?
  19.
